Landry and matt the early seasons is amazing.. great show

They should’ve had more Riggins and Saracen especially in season 4. For me with most of the original cast gone, they should’ve found better ways to utilize the originals left. I felt like Matt should’ve left for Chicago later and had him and Riggins hang out more. I feel they would’ve been stronger friends especially since everyone left after season 3.

I’m typically calm and collected guy. Don’t always show emotion I’ll be honest. But this show always somehow hit emotions in certain spots like here during Vince speaking in the office or Mr. Saracens funeral.

At first coach Taylor thought Landry’s name was “Lance” so that’s what he called him, but quickly after I think he still called him Lance even though he knew his real name because he liked him and it was like a personal thing he had with him like coach had with all his players. I noticed throughout the show at important moments coach called Landry by his real name. Like he did here and when he went to talk to him in the cafeteria after the forfeit. These two had a great and underrated relationship throughout the entire show.

4 seasons now, I get how they fit and I think season 3/4 shows how “real” their romance is. I do think being a bit bias, I liked Lyla with Street tbh or to be fair, they should’ve lasted till start or middle of season 2. I think Riggins and Lyla would’ve been better and made sense if they didn’t force that cheesy cheating scenes during season 1. If I was Tim Riggins, even if I really liked Lyla ( lol I would’ve cause Lyla is arguably most beautiful girl I have seen in a TV show), I wouldn’t have kissed her like he did in that scene in the rain. They should’ve built their romance/ chemistry more which is really good and you do feel the love between the two, I just wish the writers showed why. For me it just seems they set them up because they are both good looking. I want to know why Tim or Lyla moreso Tim loved Lyla more than any other girl. I just feel they never explained it. I love the show but I just think it’s something to point out.

I like that because Matt is coach Taylor’s son in law and Landry and Matt are best Friends that they are going to have to deal with each other the rest of their lives😂 they had a great and underrated relationship

Landry should’ve been a better player. I’m not saying a star, but guy should’ve had more downs for sure. I think he could’ve developed and we see in the show he made some legit good plays. Also guy actually played football in real life lmao, so it wouldn’t have been bad tocplay him.

I just finished the first 3 seasons. Saracen is arguably my favorite character with Street and maybe Coach Taylor. For me I liked season 3, but hated those annoying and cringe McCoy family with their 10 year old sounding son. The writers basically ruined Matt’s football story for the forced drama they did countless times just to create stupid drama. Saracen wasn’t ever that great, but he was still QB 1 for the state champion team and a winner. I hate they easily ousted Voodo for his arrogant selfish attitude but coddled this McCoy family so much. They should’ve had karma as soon as 2-3 episodes. Im no high school football expert, but you can’t tell me a random family goes all the way to some small as town to steal a spot from a senior QB. I think that storyline was a stain on a good season 3, but from what I’ve seen, season one is just way better. I hope the last two seasons are better, if I feel this show should’ve been 1-3 seasons and focused solely on the original cast.

I know street is a good looking brother, but I loved his character more than Riggins with a beautiful girl like Lyla. As someone who would have a crush on a girl like Lyla, I would want to be a guy like street who is strong inside and faces adversity with his mindset than Riggins who is a great character and still a good dude inside, but he was almost like Buddy Garrity, wanting to sleep with other nice 10s on the side and I just don’t think had much in common with Lyla. I feel the writers could’ve done more with the relationship. I think Lyla’s character was written so cheesy and corny. They should’ve made her develop her better and didn’t make her relationship with Street too rushed like with the proposal and all over the top love scenes. I do feel if they took a break but remained a bit close as friends they could’ve had another crack where they matured or really showed why their relationship wasn’t just a simple star QB with most beautiful girl in the school. I do think the relationship was cliche but really could’ve worked and as I said I would’ve wanted to be Street with Lyla.

I only watched season one and watching season 2, I hope there is more development and scenes with Street and Matt. I feel the football and even personal off the field can be a good dynamic. I think there is good possibility with Street supposedly coaching at the start of season 2. It’s just interesting how Street coaches Matt and how he takes it considering he is coaching someone that “should’ve” honestly been him if he wasn’t tragically hurt.

hate this creep, he was clearly manipulative as well. I feel like Julie wanted to feel in control like she had an older guy wrapped around her finger, but in her naivety, she wasn't being empowered but demeaned. thankfully she got out of that mess and faced her true feelings for Matt.

Matt and Julie, aside from coach and Tami, are the most realistic couple on the show, a depiction of young love making it to adulthood in spite of the rough patches. so sweet together and Aimee and Zach's chemistry was so natural

I'm sorry but people in the comment section forget that they were pissed that smash Williams because he just wanted to play football it wasn't about Coach it wasn't about anybody else it was about playing football and that's why these boys were scrubs because they didn't love the game they would sacrifice the game for the love of the coach and coach knows you never sacrifice the game for nobody

It would've been cool for them to get another season to end the show right. Apparently, what was going to happen was that East Dillon was going to get to the playoffs but lose in the 2nd round and in season 6 they were going to comeback and be a legit Juggernaut team that won state which would've made it more believable. Another thing i think they could've done was done the Dallas Carter storyline where they had like 18 guys sign D1 but they started robbing each others jobs only for Vince to be tempted but not end up doing it and be the only one who didn't get busted.

The writers did him wrong, he should have been playing plus get him a bitter girl than Flaky Becky. Ugh.
