  • Today, we're at Rosslyn Station along the WMATA's Blue, Orange and Silver lines for some station action! This station has an interesting bi-level design where both tracks run parallel but are offset diagonally, allowing the tracks to cross over eachother with close proximity to the station. In some of the train arrivals, you'll see trains inbound from on top of the outbound track.
    Keep an eye out for my future WMATA videos! Thanks for watching!

    When visiting the metro area , we frequented Rosslyn’s station as our jump off point to DC as the hotel we stayed at was less than a block away. Looks like not much has changed since 1996, but in this case that’s a good thing. These station’s are quite timeless!

      I always love visiting the DC metro. The stations really are beautiful. Glad the lack of change is a good thing! Not sure what I'd do if they started tearing out the old brutalist design in favor of something "newer"

    The Orange line on the Washington Metro is the one I have ridden the most. Thanks for sharing this footage!

    I like the more sleek and modern cars of the 7000 series but something about the classic cars (i.e. 2000, 3000 series) just feels so much nicer. I also noticed that they had deep-cleaned the older stock since they had to put it back on the rails what with the blue line derailment back in mid october of this year.

      Couldn't agree more! I wish the old ones could last forever but the new ones aren't so bad themselves!

    I have always found the split design here interesting. It's not ideal for my filming style, but still cool. Awesome video.

      They've got a station of every type you could imagine there. I really like the WMATA. Most impressive of all is that these underground stations are usually air conditioned. A very, very nice touch in the summer! Glad you enjoyed.

      I agree. This is easily one of the coolest systems in America.

      It's on my list! A friend of mine also appreciates the people mover trains at the airport. Apparently the announcements are pretty cheesy. Keep an eye out for it once I do!

    Kinda wish DFW area had a Metro system like Washington DC’s, that would compliment its robust highway system. They could even integrate the system into the highway system with big transfer stations like L’Enfant Plaza under the massive highway interchanges

      I think it'll happen eventually but we're not there yet. We need to crank up the density a lot more in order to achieve that. But you're right, I wish we did too. I hope I'll get to see something awesome happen in my time.

    Was that video of metro action taken in 2018 or 2020?

    What would be a reason for having this type of station?

    • @NTxRE
      @NTxRE  Před 4 lety +5

      If you're asking about the bi-level station, it's so that one set of tracks can split in two directions without interfering with the other set, allowing for faster service.

    Not to be mean, but Are you ever gonna do anymore DART videos?

    • @NTxRE
      @NTxRE  Před 4 lety

      Yep! I plan on it! I have these videos on an extended release schedule because I've been busy with school lately. I need to film some before the summer comes though. The A/C on those trains can get a little loud.

    • @NTxRE
      @NTxRE  Před 4 lety

      Although to be clear, my goal is to travel the world for a little bit of everything. DART will always be my favorite, but I love traveling to see other systems too.

      Okay! I wasn't being mean though, I was just wondering. I can also not reply to you for sometime because at this moment 3:42 PM I'm at DART'S Parker Road Station.

      @@NTxRE I didn't ride, but I recorded. Maybe someday I'll ride the Red Line from Parker Road to maybe Pearl Arts. And to say this to just make your day happier, your CZcams videos are better than mine in my opinion.
