Amazing video
Freeze the video at 2:15 and look across the river at the house (and its windows on the 1st floor) immediately behind Zac's left hip.
That house is my grandparents old house, which was theirs for the first 23 years of my life.
I was born and raised in England but my mother was a Highlander and raised in Inverness. So, we'd come north to Inverness once or twice each year and stay for a couple of weeks with my grandparents in that very house.
I have lived overseas for over 45 years now but I have so many very happy memories of that house - and of the Ness Islands, which latter I would frequent during our family visits to Island Bank Road in Inverness.
I live in Inverness whilst I'll say it's great for sightseeing and tourism, it's a boring and incredibly expensive place to live because it's all restaurants that seem to change every week and expensive gift shops. Prices are all hiked up because of tourism and public transport can sometimes be a nightmare for locals, especially at the height of the season. Especially when the Belladrum music festival rolls around, something you may want to check out.
Great video 💯 I feel privileged to be from Inverness and also Scotland.

A lot of the activities are now on the outskirts of the town, and you have to know how to find them. The Multiplex Cinema, Theatre, bowling, floral exotic garden. all that kind of stuff. We have a small museum. The town (I never call it a c--y), has extremes of beauty and ugliness in equal measure. Much was destroyed and replaced with concrete boxes. The Ness Islands are to be treasured on a Summer's day.. as are walks and cruises along the canal.
Good to know! Wish we would have had a bit more time to explore that museum you talked about
Love your videos! Very informative! Just had a question about filming with a drone. We filmed in Ireland in 2019 when we visited. Were you able to film pretty much anywhere in Scotland? Did you ask for permission? Just want to make sure I do everything right when we visit. Thanks so much.
We did fly our drone and had permission. You need to register it! Still wasn’t allowed anywhere though… there’s some restrictions but you’ll see the sign at the place! ☺️
I love Scotland. I love the Scots. I love what is Scottish.
Awesome!
Hi! I’ve been enjoying your travel videos. May I ask … you mentioned you and your partner have been traveling full time since 2018. How do you fund your travels? Savings? Asking as someone who may want to do long-term travel in the future. Thanks
Hi! Thanks! We used to live and work in Canada for a few years. So back then travel was more living and exploring in Canada. We left our apartment at the end of 2020 and since then we’ve been travelling around more. We were both working remotely since that time, doing web design and graphic design. Now we focus only on our channel. So we never had to use our savings and mostly travelled while making money. But we also travel a lot slower because of that…
I Am From India 🇮🇳And I Love ❤️& Respect Scotland . You Guys Are Vikings skål ✨️Brothers & Sisters ❤️ 🏴
Scotland is beautiful! We would love to visit India in the near future too
@@worldwildhearts That's Great
From snow-covered Himalayan valleys to rainforests and palm-fringed golden beach. Everything is in 🇮🇳
Thank you so much dear for your helpful videos. Could you please tell how to go Isle of Skye from Inverness in the case of not having my own private car?
Thanks for watching! You can book a tour from Inverness to the Isle of Skye, which is easiest. You can also travel by public transportation, like there's a bus that goes from Inverness to Portree and takes about 3 hours.
To go to Skye you can get a bus all the way or get a train to the Kyle of lochalsh and walk up the road and over the bridge. Several trains and buses a day.
also. inverness castle was closed for a while. and recently. if you didnt know its a court room now haha
It closed as a court room in 2020. It's currently being refurbished and turned into a visitor centre / tourist attraction which opens in 2025.
Going to Scotland end of March and was wondering for the drone did you guys need any specific licenses or just flew it on your own without anything?
Yeah you need to have completed the CAA Drone Registration to be able to fly in Scotland. This entails taking an online safety test and registering your drone. This gives you an operator ID and a flyer ID. The police can check whether you have this! We also have drone insurance but I don’t think you need that for Scotland
@@worldwildhearts awesome thanx for the info. Will look into that CAA Registration
I recently found out that the scottish side of my family comes from Inverness. I can't wait to visit one day!
the ankle breaker at 5:37 looked painful
good eyes 🤣🤣🤣
How do you get to and from urquhart castle?
By rental car! It’s right along the shore of Loch Ness.. many tours stop there too
@@worldwildhearts
Thank you!
Do they allow US driver’s license in Scotland?
You can also get a bus...the bus to fort William stops there..
@@alimitchell5346 👍
i don’t get why you wanted to go there lol i live up in wick
How many days would you guys recommend Inverness? I wanted to do it as a citytrip. Been all around scotland several times, but it's the only country (worldwide) that keeps calling me back! :) We only went to loch ness though, so I never properly experienced Inverness.
Maybe 2-3 days? We stayed about 3 days but also used Inverness as a base to explore some of the sites nearby (like Loch Ness and Urquhart castle).
Hi. Its this pub with live music is dogs friendly ??
We didn't see any dogs inside... but you can always ask your hotel if there are any dog-friendly pubs around
No dogs allowed unless they are disability dogs
the black isle bar is dog friendly :)
@@Amskiki Thanks
German: Niveau ist keine Hautcreme... Well, then, Bourbon isn't the same as Highland Scottish Whiskey but tastes equally 🥃🌹🦋❣️♑
More chance of a sighting after a few whiskies?
hahahah we bet! 🤣
also side point on culloden battlefield.
the government want to build housing on it. and the local population was outraged by it haha
wow that's sad to hear!! they shouldn't erase the piece of history
Food(fish)?
We ate in the pubs mainly which has different local dishes but no fish besides fish and chips. I’m sure you’ll find many places for fish too
Waterside restaurant excellent fish dishes
I live just outside of Inverness. IMO it's a shithole but visiting would be nice
yep i live in inverness and i hate it here with a passion 😭
I'm moving down to Edinburgh later this month for University, I reckon it's gonna be even worse 😵💫@@Amskiki
The Gellions is not the oldest pub, that would be Blackfriars. Please fact check
That’s what the Inverness locals told us. Also, double checking online that’s what shows up
as a scot. its not gay-lick
its pronounced Ga-Lick make the e silent :p
lots of americans do that. :p
also love the video. ive lived in inverness all my life and i had no idea about some of the places you mentioned.
InverNESS, not INverniss
Please do not call Loch Ness a lake, we are not English
Ooooooooh calm down jockey Wilson get yourself a large whisky 🥃 and a battered mars bar 😂
What's it?
A loch😊😊
@@Hellothere12385 but as I know loch in Gaelic means-lake or what?
@@MegakillerFortnight it’s a loch where Nessie lives
If it's from Scotland; it's Scotch - not Whisky
