If you're a Filipino kid, you'll be expected to either sing or dance, if not, you should atleast act a drama or recite a poem. Coz every gathering, is a talent presentation, no escape.

I got dance and sing but not so good at them. When I was young I used to dance, and now, I sing. Idk about acting, I’m into it but never try it, only when I’m in bathroom. And recite a poem.... I don’t think I should not try that.

Filipino kids and teens are raised around music in their everyday life... life can be so hard there that in order to vent and express their feelings and emotions, they naturally use music as their gate way, others use art, and a few use other entertainment forms. But music is what draws a lot of soul and feelings from us. Being Filipino I used to sing a lot as a kid. I even sing at work now too. I may not be awesome or good, but it helps me mentally.

It is common in the Philippines. It happens every first day of the school year and you must sing or dance it depends on what talent you're going to say during the introduction. Most of the time it is a diversion where students showcase their voice so the teacher will be distracted and forget about the discussion.

Here’s the thing in classes in the Philippines. In every single class, there’s surely at least one or two who sings great. Like EVERY SINGLE CLASS, okay? And the teacher ALWAYS urges us to sing wether you’re not good at singing or not. It’s a must. It’s a punishment, but at the same time, an entertainment for the class. Ah, I miss my classes.

i thank God that I was born filipino, being in a filipono school, yes its full of dark bunches but when music is in, everyone kinds of get as on, when class gets cancelled in high schools, students cant go out so they just bring guitar and make the front table/teachers table as a drum and everything is set, good songs make other classes join us in singing. its like one of those days that we just it everyday.
when classes are suspended while still in the school, students huddles and sits in on one big circle, turn on the Bluetooth speaker and there you have it a mini concert.
thats why many singers were discovered in high schools, cause that is the time that we'd rather sing or dance that be stuck on a lecture.

We have this thing called 'introduce yourself' every first day of the class wherein everyone should have a talent to show. It may be singing, dancing, drawing or anything. And every Monday or Friday of the week we have this thing called 'flag ceremony' wherein everyone of us would sing together.

In the Philippines if you are late you need to sing. If you want to cancell the exam you have to sing. If want to distract the teachers not to teach a lesson you have to sing. Sometimes every mistakes has punishment and most of the time the punishment is singing.

The talented boy in the jeepney is most likely one of those streetchildren who hitch on these jeepneys and sing for a few pesos. Also, the one who sang Reflection from Mulan and How Far I'll Go from Moana is the same girl, Beatrice Ysabel Dychingco.

When I’m in my review centre we have this thing where if you’re absent five times you have to sing but the funny thing is even if they haven’t been absent they still take the mic and sing so basically it’s a whole karaoke showdown before classes start, bot to mention that the teachers encourage it too😂😂😂

@@Loly thanks loly. If there's only someone who will come here and search for the hidden gems and develop them. We have tons of talents here. Someone from the west or from where ever that have loads of money and into the music industry that would invest on Filipino artist. They will make a fortune there's no doubt about it. Examples are Charice, Leah Salonga, Morissette, Arnel Pineda of journey, just to name a few. I just don't understand why just few people from the west never thought about this since 30 years ago up to now? Why and why? Imagine if you can just find 10 super star talents they will probably be making a billion dollar profits and they can also help these talented artist to be discovered and make a decent living. If I'm only a billionaire I will invest half of my fortune into discovering new breed of talents. You can surely mix business with music. What do you think loly?
