“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

My sons wife is from the Philippines and her family moved to California several years ago. When my son and his wife got married a few years ago, we flew out to Cali for the wedding. The entire church congregation sang during the wedding. (The church is mainly a Filipino based membership) it sounded like angels from heaven. Oh my goodness, every Filipino person I know can SING! And most of them can play at least one instrument with perfection. Unreal!

“The majority of us don’t want to be heard, we don’t wanna be judged,” is what’s not true about the karaoke culture in the Philippine. In fact, the lack of inhibition is just part of that singing culture. We do not care how we sound or if we’re off-key. That’s just part of the fun. When someone grabs a microphone in the Philippines, he or she’s out to sing to have fun and not to impress. This is how the Filipino have developed an almost off-the-go kind of singing talent. They can sing under almost all kinds of circumstances.

Honestly at this point I can just say my whole family can sing 🤣. Flipinos really love to sing, whether they're amateur, pro, newbie, or tone deaf. Almost all or if not all of us loves to sing, be it for parties, feast, local or national contests, streets, while relaxing, while washing the dishes, while cooking, while taking a bath, or even while dreaming sometimes. We love to listen to music and songs especially OPM and ballads as well as pop, RnB, and acoustic or be it folk, alternative, rock or rap and hip-hop. In a country who favors and celebrates singers, no doubt that most of us wanted or dreamed to be a good singer, it's just that some inherited good singing traits and practices form their clan or parents, some are just naturally talented and gifted, and some made it through constant practices. Nevertheless, almost all or if not all of us appreciates a form or genre of music and does singing, humming, or chanting in our own special ways.

Nevertheless, I still sing, but just not in front or around other people who were not my immediate nuclear family. I love mainly Filipino and English songs from broadway, Disney musicals, pop, and alternative folk style. I do also sing songs in Indonesian, Malaysian, and other languages, which are mostly various national anthems.

I love that most of them are singing at school. Its really pretty common for teachers/instructors to have their students sing in class. They would ask you if you have any talents and the students fall for it everytime, for plus grades sometimes and also during internship so that the preceptor would let you get off early. And singing is our common past time here in the PH, its always one of the things were good at.

Hello Coach Rebecca. The "not-so-good" background that we saw in most of the clips is a testament that our singers came from the deepest of struggles in life. Resilience, perhaps, is the most appropriate way of describing how these Filipino singers survive. It is so lovely to realize that these guys used their talent to climb up the ladder and improve their lives. I share their struggles and enjoy the glory of pure and raw talent whenever given the chance to be in a spotlight. This reaction video is so heart warming. Thank you for this.

They encourage singing in school in PH, when I was in a private elementary school every hour or two the teacher would break from lecture/subject and make us sing for 15 minutes. Sometimes it's the whole class, sometimes individually, and if you are shy then the teacher would pick a partner for you to sing with. Sometimes the singing required dancing/exercise combo. Any song you want, even if you are bad at it no one made fun of you because we ALL had to do it. The teacher even use it as disciplinary tool, but we never saw it as a punishment since most of us loved singing and dancing. You could even raise your hand in a middle of a lecture and ask the teacher if you could sing a song just because you felt like it, and I have never heard my teacher say no to any of us. When you make school fun and make students look forward to going to school every morning, then educating them is the easy part. I moved to the U.S. and have been here most my life, and I can say, the fondest memory i have was my childhood in PH.

I don’t know if it’s true or not in that moment, but it seems like he uses his voice to bring entertainment to the people inside that “Jeepney” ( is a form of vehicle for people who commute and can hold probably 20-30 people side by side) to earn some money ,anyways, yes, this is also true that some Filipinos will do anything for sideline to earn money. It’s my home town and I’ve seen a lot of talented Filipinos who will sing by the street with some diy instruments to earn, . So, this little boy seems like he did some unplugged version of the song . 👏🏻 I love it ❤️❤️

My Father was a radio singing entertainer ( that was then in the olden days ) I remembered he loves to sing while I was growing up ( did not think nothing of it ) Today because of internet People from other side of the globe can be heard,, their amazing talent ,,, Thank you again Miss Rebecca !!! congrats on your 101k BTW cute cat !!! Im originally from the Philippines and from what I can recall, we sing as a form of recreation. I remember being a kid and singing around family members and friends (some rock and ballad songs). It was a great way to have fun with family members and practice on our vocal skills.
Filipino culture is very supportive of activites such as singing, as this as seen as positive there. This form of encouragment produces pretty talented vocalists. I also noticed that Filipino diction is pretty decent, we can easily articulate vowels and consonants with perfect clarity. This is probably due to the heavily Americanized culture there, we learned English at a very early age, this probably why its really easy for us to sing.
