The games under the "Game Rooms" section aren't optimized and/or are using subpar emulators, so there will be some performance issues running games from there. The Retroarch section is definitely the way to go to get the best experience.
Got quite a few of these handhelds but have to say the one I'm most fond of that surprised me this year was the TrimUI Smart Pro got it for $50 on Aliexpress and it was a refreshing change as the build was great and software well thought out.
very cool, I may have to check that one out 👍
It has N64 you just have go add the games for the emulator to show up, and it plays very well with the d-pad already mapped to the stick from the factory.
I know it “supports N64” but it doesn’t “have N64 unless you add it, big difference. Also I found the d pad experience less than enjoyable for my playing of N64. To me there are much better handhelds out there that are better suited for N64 gaming if that’s what a person really wants to play.
@@cooltoy Well, you don't have add the N64 emulator, just the games. That's a huge difference than say its predecessor the 280m that "supported" N64, but you had to find and install the emulator as well as games.
Anyway, people buy devices this small because they want to play those higher up systems on a small device. Otherwise yeah there are plenty of other larger devices out there, like the Trimui Smart Pro.
I bought this specifically because of N64 and am completely happy with its performance. It also plays my favorite DC and PSP games as an extra bonus.
Good review Doug. You’re right if the had the option for a wireless controller it would be great, but honestly it looks painful on the hands?
It’s really only something I would use if I were playing games that only used the face buttons. While the shoulder betters feel and work well enough, ergonomically for me at least they feel uncomfortable to try and use during gameplay.
I’m torn between this and the 35xxsp. I like the form factor of both and mainly want one for gb/gbc/gba games. I just recently got a ds flash card so been playing a lot of stuff with my various ds consoles.
I definitely prefer the form factor of the 35xxsp
Does this have the power to play Cave titles? Mushi Futari/ Pink Sweets / Ketsui?
yes, but you would have to add the emulator and games yourself.
@@cooltoy awesome thanks dude 👍
I have the transparent black.
You like it?
@@cooltoy I actually haven't gotten to set it up yet 😂 I want to set it up with my own rom sets. I also bought the one that looks like a Gameboy advance SP, and the RG35XXH. they all have the same chip set but I wanted the different form factors.
For $50 you could just mod a 2DS and have an incredible library on there. 3DS, DS, GBA, GB, and super Nintendo all run native on the console. There's also a Genesis emulator that runs perfectly and a game gear. Add a little more money to get a 3DS and you can have the entire virtual boy library on there with actual 3D
People who just want a quick fix of retro gaming aren’t interested in doing that sort of thing. If they were, products like this wouldn’t be as successful as they are or exist.
please, show us where you bought a 2ds for 50 dollars 😭😭
A 2DS for $50?? WHERE?
I was never a fan of the GameBoy Micro
Too small for your liking I take it?
