If it wasn't for the internet and the capability of critical thinkers to do their own research, we wouldn't have this many people waking up either. Geeman Ona Friend, there's no such thing as "the real world". Of course there are objective truths and facts, I'm not disputing that. However, every depiction of reality is tainted by the point of view of the person depicting it. I think that there are a few things that one can do to keep focused on what is important. 1) Do not blindly trust media, but make sure not to let your mistrust of the media make you believe in stupid conspiracy theories à la Alex Jones. 2) Look at news organization's record on being accurate, and more importantly, look at their record in terms of issuing apologies and corrections whenever they make a mistake...every organization will make mistakes at one point or another, what gives credibility to one is its ability to correct the record. 3) Don't lose sight of the human experience and understand that we are all the product of a mix between nature and nurture. Most people's opinions would probably be very different if they had grown up in another country or another social class. It's important to remember that people we disagree with are also human and to treat others the way we think we should be treated (I'm not trying to go religious here, it's just a basic concept that is supposed to exist in religious organizations and that does exist in all parts of society. Empathy is crucial. That's my point of view anyway, you may not agree with it and I'm always open to discussion, but basically I think that's a good start when it comes to having even a vague idea of what kind of world we are living in.

If it wasn't for the internet and the capability of critical thinkers to do their own research, we wouldn't have this many people waking up either. Geeman Ona Friend, there's no such thing as "the real world". Of course there are objective truths and facts, I'm not disputing that. However, every depiction of reality is tainted by the point of view of the person depicting it. I think that there are a few things that one can do to keep focused on what is important. 1) Do not blindly trust media, but make sure not to let your mistrust of the media make you believe in stupid conspiracy theories à la Alex Jones. 2) Look at news organization's record on being accurate, and more importantly, look at their record in terms of issuing apologies and corrections whenever they make a mistake...every organization will make mistakes at one point or another, what gives credibility to one is its ability to correct the record. 3) Don't lose sight of the human experience and understand that we are all the product of a mix between nature and nurture. Most people's opinions would probably be very different if they had grown up in another country or another social class. It's important to remember that people we disagree with are also human and to treat others the way we think we should be treated (I'm not trying to go religious here, it's just a basic concept that is supposed to exist in religious organizations and that does exist in all parts of society. Empathy is crucial. That's my point of view anyway, you may not agree with it and I'm always open to discussion, but basically I think that's a good start when it comes to having even a vague idea of what kind of world we are living in.
In the world we live in currently there isn't just one elephant in the room/football field, they would most likely fill the field with 100's of other elephants and hide the Elephant in there somewhere...

Ladies and Gentlemen, we're in the last stage. This is all normal folks.
Nope. The last stage will take another 10 years. When the current generation of kids have grown up in to this.
We know better. They don't. They will live in a world in which it's normal to get a shot twice a year.
The next generation will be the safer bet for the final stage. Right now, there's enough people who know better.
