  • Hey Everyone! I hope your new year is going well. Over the break, I played a lot of games and felt inspired to do something new.
There's a bit more "theory" in this one that I'm looking forward to doing more in my future VR-related content.

Presence is so important in VR, from the main menu forward the user is "in" your world. It's also an opportunity to seamlessly transition right into the gameplay. Trying my own hand at this recently, been going for an "office" vibe similar to I Expect You To Die 2. I really appreciate a video like this.

For sure! I really like the more seamless approach, and VR is a great application for it. VR Presence itself is also a fun topic, which I've had plans of exploring more this year.

Would love to hear you expand upon this Main Menu theme and work on a main menu in VR. I think there are some challenges unique to VR that would be fun to see you tackle! I just completed a VR Jam game and one of the issues that popped up was how to set the floor height within the game and at the same time keep it from breaking the atmosphere and experience.

Interesting! I'm hoping to do some more project-focused videos, so this may be something I touch on.

Hi, I'm currently create a vr game for oculus quest 2 and I would like to know how I can pause the game with XR when the user removes the HMD or opens Universal Menu. I couldn't find any information about this subject.

You can set the time scale to 0. It basically freezes time in unity. the method is Time.timeScale = 0.
