What a Top, genuine bloke, with a heart for others !
My older brother was and still is a forest fan so they were big part of my childhood. Steve Sutton was a greatly underrated goalkeeper. In todays game hed have won England caps,he should have won a few bk then tbh.
I thoroughly enjoyed that.... An honest bloke talking from the heart. What a great advert for the game.... So refreshing.
(And Steve, if you are reading this: I have fond memories of Hartington too..... When I was based in Glossop. Greetings from Chile. Stay Safe.)
I'm not a forest fan but actually really like them, I hold a huge amount of respect and admiration for the club and Brian Clough and for the unbelievable soap opera they entertained us with.
Back in the 80s and 90s they were one of the best clubs with grounded but fantastic players with huge characters, and managed by the most legendary person that has ever lived .
These stories and the era too can't be bettered.
Nottingham forest and Brian Clough are synonymous with eachother ,yet he even brought supporters together from that huge rivalry which is the East Midlands derby and even more so with the amazing story that they brought to the nation.
Absolute class, massive respect and thank you for the memories.
From.a season ticket holder at West Ham
Nicely said Danny. Good health to you.
@@patagualianmostly7437 thank you my friend and the very best to you too
Not seen Steve in about 20 years. We played Inn brass bands together many years ago. Such a lovely man
I've always had great respect for Forest. And I love Cloughie. Respects from a Gooner.
Steve Sutton. Class Goal Keeper. Thankyou, brings my youth back watching this. Watching all the footie on tv 😉
Chelsea supporter here. Sutton's saves against Tottenham I will always remember. The Forest 7 goals against us, not so much. But Cloughie was The Best!
Singing one eyed stevie steve one eye, singing one eyed stevie steve one eye ,singing one eyed stevie, one eyed stevie, one eyed stevie steve one eye...LOVE from the Middle pen Trent End..Legend....
me too. great dayz bro
Gentleman. Great Goalie
A very decent goalkeeper during Clough’s second winning era at Forest. When I was younger I found myself in goal and Steve was my one of my favourite ever players. He comes across exactly as I would have imagined in this interview , humble and honest . Always remembered his save in the first half of the 89 league cup final when he tipped over an Ashley Grimes thunderbolt Gentleman . 👐.
What a wonderfully well put together series of videos these are...Respect from a QPR fan
The only footballer I've ever met but I think he was a legend I have the privilege of actually knowing Steve so that is why he actually knows my name
I am loving these interviews, a great idea to revisit all these players, so interesting to hear from them. Thanks.
Was at Wembley for 89 finals v Luton and Everton. Sutty, walker and pearce were my favourite players..and of course young Nigel...Steve hodge..Neil webb...bing on the wing
First league cup final I ever watched can still remember that sunday afternoon. My brother is a forest fan.
Top bloke & brilliant keeper
“Stevie, Steve Sutton, Steve Sutton in the goal!”
Legend that is Stevie Sutton 👍🏻
Great bloke and Forest player
God bless you Steve 🙏👍
Oddly he remind me of Nigel Clough. These player profiles reveal what a special club this is - big contrast to what other clubs put out.
These videos are brilliant..
Great goalkeeper
that man is so nice
He's a shining example to all aspiring footballers. Some of today's prima donnas would do well to emulate.
(Just watched Arsenal-Sunderland ....Carabao Cup..... A guy has a hat-trick under his belt and he dives in the box...
his team is 4-1 ahead.. Dear-oh-dear.)
A top goalie
gentleman
Good hans
Stevie Stevie what's the score stevie!!
Mr. Consistent.
Can't believe the hours I have spent watching these videos and not being a "Forest fan". I guess half the country were fans of Forest back in those days. Good footy, clean players ( Kenny Burns excepted of course ). I never liked Clough as much as some people seem to. Too much of a bully and an egomaniac.
Sutton or segers or crossley?
I know which one I'd pick...the surname is also a famous seed company😎
Sutton definitely!
Steve Sutton without a doubt.
No doubt about it you were better than hans
Looks like he's sorted out that dodgy eye
