So many life lessons in skating… 45 and father of 5 sons and refuse to give up trying to skate, even if it isn’t as often as I’d like. Keep it up man!
Heck yea man. I'm sure you have very limited time but im just glad to hear your still putting in effort to try. That's all that matters fellow skating dad
I’m almost 41 and getting back into it cuz my 11 year old has started skating . Almost 2 months back in. Ollie came back and balance is getting better every day. Super fun tho
Thats awesome!! Is it a battle to see who can get tricks first ? A little of the "the ole man still got it"? lol. only kidding. Thats super cool thou !
Heck yea man. Just skating is fun and pushing your own limits. I get stoked seeing anyone push themselves. I love it
Hahahaha I'm down to battle 🤣 the duel of the elders lmao. That would be a good batb game of skate actually!
But honestly there definitely is that "old man still got it" in my head... it's almost like I need to prove it to myself that I can still hang a tad bit lmao. I can't help it
Thats the best thing, skating with your kids. Dream come true. My son,8yr just learned to ollien and my daughter, 10 is starting as well :D
Nice! Fear always gets me like that, gotta just go for it sometimes.
Yea honestly it's the best way. Sometimes you just gotta force it and either eat shit or get close lol. My video next week it was wcen worse than this time.
Ah! The struggle to commit! So can relate to that with some tricks! I think 99% of skateboarding is trying to land tricks and then the 1% is landning the tricks. And then..the best feeling ever 🙌🏼
It really is the best feeling ever... even tho it's only for like 4 seconds of sweet joy lmao
Great! I'm at same age and just learned krooked on a very small ledge!
Heck yea man. As long as your having fun, that translates the best for skating
For me skateboarding is about self belief and perseverance
Something you definitely have 👊
Man you have to believe it and it really instills that in other areas of life as well. That's so great about skateboarding
Man this is so relatable, thanks so much for making this video! I'm a dad, 33 w/ 2 kids, and trying to still get better at skateboarding. For me, I'm now experiencing fear in a way that I wasn't having when I skating at like 16.
I’m 26 and I’ve skated since I was 6, just broke my arm and got surgery from falling while airing out a bowl and now I’m terrified of transitions
Omg I completely understand what you mean with the new kind of fear! It's so strange. Maybe because I have more to lose if I get hurt but I'm much more cautious. It's really really hard to get over it. My next video coming out next week, the fear was wayyyyy worse. We still push through tho
Sheesh man!!! I had a bad experience on transition that's why you don't see me do too many tricks on them. Be safe brother
Yeah that's probably it, there's people depending on us and if we're hurt, we can't help out as much etc. That, and recovery just isn't what it used to be! Keep safe and keep pushing! @@tonyperksexperience1988
yea I agree! I have a whole family to support so I cant risk getting hurt too bad! thats why I keep my skating low impact mostly and ive learned how to fall over there years now. OMG recovery is so much longer now lol. Its tough getting old lol
Youu nailed it that looked greeeat 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you. It was a battle forsure
Yoooooo hell yeah it’s awesome to see these kind of videos. I’m 32 and just recently got back into skating. Currently working on BS 50-50s!
Heck yea man. It's a process as you saw in the video. Just take your time and get comfortable on the board and I'm sure you got this. Add me on ig: tony_perks and when you get it, send the clips brotha 🙏🏿
Sick shit man!! I'm super stoked you landed it.
Thanks brother!! It was a battle mentally!
Well done fella age is no limit look at all the OG POWELL PERALTA BOYS all in the 50s I'm 48 still skate 👏🤛
No limits! Just do what's fun to you and what is difficult at this current stage! Heck yea man keep killing in bro
31 1 kid, mental clarity after a good sesh🤙🏻. Back after a 12 break
Man your speaking facts. Mental clarity after a good sesh sums it up COMPLETELY!!!
Bro new favorite skating channel
Thanks my brother
Man thank you for this! Getting back in to skating after a few years break and I find some things come easier now but other things I used to have on lock are terrifying. also my pop has gone down severely but guess I just gotta make a skate routine cause right now its about once a week
Bro I had the same exact thing happen to me. Lost a lot of tricks due to fear but picked up new ones. And my pop suffered the MOST!!! But I'm getting back. It just takes effort of being consistent brother. Kudos to you making time for at least once a week
that first try, and confidence, keys to help make things happen! great job with the back crook! and the park looks so nice, where is it?
Thanks man. It takes so much tricking your mind to be able to do tricks your scared of. Oh this park is in the Antelope Valley brother. It's only been here for like maybe 4 years now
lot of mental play and mind games can happen when trying certain tricks, but if the mind is hacked in a way and figured out it can be used to your benefit maybe, 😅, and thanks for the info on the park 👍🏻@@tonyperksexperience1988
That mental mind games can either make you or break you if you dont know how to use it. I feel you on that! hope to see some tricks from ya playa
47yrs young, put in 1 to 1.5 hours at the park every other dayish, wish my son was into it.
Dude that's actually pretty good amount of time. You can definitely progress with that much time. I do wish my little one skater too bro. Maybe one day
Watching this in the car… the bass is bumpin!!😂
The beat was bumping lowkey haha. I gotta play it in my car with my 12" sub lmao
We make it so much harder than it needs to be lol. That was nicely done and exactly how I would feel doing that lol.
Man it happens all the time. My next video the fear was even WORSE!!! lol but im glad to work through it
So randomly came across your live stream and saw your part and realized you were on shedders lair. My buddy Steve was part of that. I still have a deck in my collection. Crazy
No way!!!! That's crazy!! Yea I still talk to Steve to this day. He was the one who started it. Dude that is so crazy lol and the funny thing is I was not even planning on showing the shredders lair video. Well nice to meet you
That’s awesome, I still talk to him as well. Good to see you’re still skating and doing your thing! Respect
Yessir. It's so crazy that you picked that live stream 🤯🤯🤯. Yessir respect brother. Appreciate you joining
I love your style bro. So steez
Thanks my bro. Trying represent for all the dads
Killing it Tony!! Get it!!
Ima keep trying til I cant player!!! Much love
cool man! way to stick it! I'm in my 40s with a one year old.. and really want to skate again hah!
Heck yea bro. I know with a 1 year old thats kinda tough. Maybe you can squeeze in an hour a week or something if time permits.
Man, I’m 34 and been skating my whole life to this day. I don’t get out but like once a month now though…or less. WHY don’t I live near older guys like you that want to get back out there?!
It's hard skating once a month. I feel that. Man I just found a couple of dudes who are my age and older who still skate. But it took years to find them lol. Just keep getting out there and skating when your there. Where you stay at?
@@tonyperksexperience1988 That's awesome man. I'm glad youre having fun out there. Currently I'm located in Houston. Let me know if you ever make it out here!
Oh I have family out there. I was just out there in April. Il probably go again next year. Most definitely and you can show me a good skate park or two :)
Im 39 and after giving skate lessons for 2 yrs im finally learning myself again. Just bought myself a new setup. Maybe do some new vids too.
Have fun and skate 4ever!
Heck yea bro. I love to see your videos if you make them. Glad your not letting age hold you back brotha
Cool, subsribed. Sprained my ankle. Hope for quick recovery.
oh no man!!! praying for speedy recovery and complete healing in Jesus name!!!
hell yeh man
Appreciate you brother
You remind me a lot of MKBHD, like you could be his older brother. Anyway, super cool channel.
You think so? I like him alot. Seems like a real chill dude.
After seeing this I’m buying a board I haven’t skated since high school 26 now fck it let’s get it. Question though the older you got did you change board sizes?
Heck yea man your should definitely get one brother. As far as board sizes. I normally skate 8.5 cause I have size 14 feet but currently dropped to 8.38 cause I can flip the board faster because it's a little skinnier. So not so much because I got older but because the tricks I do change. I still prefer 8.5 tho
F**k yes mate
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
What size board you ride? Board setup video?
Lately I've been riding an 8.38. If you watch my live on unboxing I show you all the board set up I have
What is this skate park called ? Looks like a fun park
It's George lane skate park. It's pretty new. It has much more than you saw in this video.
@@tonyperksexperience1988 to bad it’s 2 hrs away 🙃🤣
Where you stay at, riverside area?
@Versacebanii it's a pretty common 2 hour away place lol. Just intuition I guess lol
@@tonyperksexperience1988 smart man lol , keep up the good skating bro 👍
I just turned 30 and got back into it. Give me a sub man! Skating dads stick together lol.
Heck yea man just did brotha. Oh so your into cars? What about motorcycles?
@@tonyperksexperience1988 just cars lol I had some car projects that I planned to do more videos on and just never found time to film stuff and have since then sold them. Trying to keep the channel more skate oriented. It’s just finding time to skate and film lol
I feel ya! I saw your shorts page and you really still have hard flips!!! Super impressive bro
@@tonyperksexperience1988 I’m going to get them back clean!! In due time, thanks for the support!
heck yea man!! keep it up. il keep an eye out for them
You're instead of your (see title of video).
Your the best bro!!! Look at the title now 😊. Appreciate that catch
