Ah this brings back some good old memories. When i was 16 in the mid 1970s i had a Dodge Charger and my friend (who was a small stocky fellow), had a Scamp (red with black vinyl top). The Scamp was pretty much a stock 318 V8 except it had custom dual exhaust and no cat converter. I mean the car had the factory hubcaps so she was a sleeper for sure. The Scamp was a small and light car in the mid 70s as most cars were huge and heavy. He would cut donuts in the IGA parking lot where we worked, creating the biggest smoke clouds lol. While our cars were fun back in the day they do not compare the blue rocket you got there! Be careful and enjoy the car.
I once had a blue 71 scamp with a T/A 340. It was built to the hilt,and even had a dual carb tunnel ram dealio, electric water pump, BeCool rad, 8-3/4 (742) posi 4:56 gears, 4 speed, pinion snubber, SS leaf springs, frame connectors, etc…. This vid brought back memories.
The 70s, great times and everyone had the "CASH, GRASS OR ASS" stickers in their windows or it was "if you're leaning on this car you'd better be naked and a chick" sticker lol.
Absurdly fast. Everything is set up the right way. That torque snap of a 650hp is what makes it put other turbo engines producing 1000 in shame, and what makes NA v8s competitive against them. Nothing beats torque, man. And that thing has all of it
I love ur videos and driving skills ! I was wondering what gears u were running in the video with the street bikes ! I have a big block chevelle with a ls6 running 4:10 4 speed thinking of 3:55 or 3:42 for my car !
@@scampman416 wow I never would have guessed I had 4:88 in my car 37 years ago (I had this car since my jr year of high school ) and they were to low went to 4:10 and I feel they r too low so I think for my car 3:55 all the way ! I’m approaching 60 so I’m not sure how much longer I will race, I barely have in the past five years but I’m considering licensing so I can run in the nines and then I’ll try my nitrous system it’s a shame having 250hp nitrous on the car and have never used it. I would be playing with the 8s if I can put the power down
Nascar runs a naturally aspirated small block that makes upwards of 850hp. Have you been living under a rock since the 60s? Na small blocks nowadays can push 900hp.
