Buying a House in BC and moving to Victoria is more challenging than it has been in the last 2 years, especially in a declining real estate market in Victoria BC Canada. You might be wondering why we would buy in this market with interest rates rising and home prices sliding?
As a residential realtor I have a lot of faith in the Victoria BC Real Estate market over the long term and our decision to buy a home in Esquimalt was calculated on a long time horizon. I believe Victoria British Columbia is the best place to live in Canada and offers some unique pros and cons (very few) that create a unique lifestyle proposition that can’t be found in other parts of the country. For us, living in Victoria BC was really the only decision on the table but as a lifelong resident I hope this video sheds some light on life in Victoria BC.
In this video I unpack some of those reasons and why we decided on buying a house in Victoria BC. I will also spend some time talking about how we imagine this house fitting into our goals of living in Victoria BC (with some neighbourhood highlights). At the end of the video I will do a little house tour to talk through some of the unique features that compelled us to pursue this property.

Congrats on your home! Love the character. Looks great now and will look even better with some improvements like you said. Would be nice to install sliding doors from kitchen to deck and a kitchen Island. Backyard has potential as well. Dinning room looks lovely. Would be nice to see how the flows with the main entrance door. Congrats Again!

Nice home in a nice neighborhood! I am moving to BC next month and not planning to rent more than 6 months because I would like go for a purchase as soon as possible. I planned the purchase near White Rock area initially because we love to be beside ocean and nature, and neighborhoods with good schools but since I started watching your videos, my perspective is changing lol. So I was looking for a minimum 3 bed rentals (furnished as I don't want to rent more than a year) near Victoria until I buy but seems like such rentals are very limited in there from the various listing sites I visited although there are plenty in the mainland. Let me know if you can help me in getting such furnished rentals initially from around June. Thanks a lot.

No offers were back in May when the market was in decline, but still near peak.
