Love the work you both do. Really you are both an example of how to work to together as a couple. Angela you going to miss your apple baskets? So happy those spaces are going to work for you.
The pantry may not seem like a lot but with the height, plus plus and I love that you got the dead bolt and door handle on the door. You didn't give yourselves 4 thumbs up on the door handle and dead bolt. Loving it!!!!!

My hubby and I have been married 18 years this summer as well! They make lights that are motion activated. We have one in our pantry. It used to be a pull chain that we swapped for the motion one. Now the light comes on when we open the door. Might be nice in your closet!

I was thinking the same. I have a sensor light in my entrance closet. No wiring needed since battery operated. I wish they get rid of the "nipple" lights at the back entrance and front entrance. The front entrance light is tilted in ceiling, and looks odd It's the ceiling pitch. Would be best if they chose a recessed light instead.

I always enjoy the framing stage of building. It's one of the easiest stages but it shows the most change. One thing I might have considered doing differently would be to go ahead and insulate and sheetrock the outer wall and then build your closets since most of the walls are kind of floating anyway. Y'all work so good together as a team. Thanks for inviting us into your home.

You might consider not installing a door on the pantry. It is a mudroom walkway where space is at a premium. Doors on the pantry only make it more difficult to stock and uses space in the small walkway.

You could screw ply board at back of pantry before covering it with drywall. this will make the shelving brackets stronger. also run supports along side walls to help distribute the full shelf weight. It is coming along great though. Rather than motion sensor switch inside pantry try a pressure switch like for car door lights when they get opened.

French cleats for setting up the pantry and the closets would make it easy to move things around as you get used to the space. That way you don't have to commit to the shelf placement right from the beginning. I am also in a single wide and redid the closet using french cleats, I took out the old school single rod and put in upper and lower rods on the sides and shelving in the center. Using french cleats allows you to build modular units first and then just hang them onto the cleats, Even move them around later if you need to. Whatever you do wishing you the best making progress. What Sam makes sense about accepting it is OK to be wrong. Sometimes what you think is wrong turns out to be right

As you piece in a little length of wood along side the door framing, add a little piece of 2"x4" for the exterior electrical plug etc...I am reminded that it is a good thing to keep all those scraps and in some type of identifiable, retrievable organization until the job is done. - Yes, you have minimal dry storage, a lot of irons in the fire, more to do than there are hours in a day but, do take a look-see over that dumpster for salvageable wood. Be it a garden stake, trellis system, or simply burn pit fuel - wood is expensive these days as are landfill fees.

    • @terryhenderson424
      @terryhenderson424 Před 2 lety

Heck, if some of those boards were by definition good enough to hold up a residential wall they ought to be good enough to frame a chicken coop a little more esthetic than some of the diy knock-togethers and not quite as elaborate as those with white, gingerbread trim. A potential future business venture/ utube as a lot of folks look to add chickens.

I love your new property and your house is becoming more comfortable and functional with every new renovation you put into it. You have optimised on the space you have and made it more functional and suitable to your needs. It’s going to be a great asset for your family. Your boys are really thriving in the new state and make the most of all your land. Keep up the great work.

Might what to rethink those measurements for the closet, You said 22 " does that take into account 1\2 " drywall which is really 1 "
My closet is 24" and I can nearly hang shirts in there ,

The vision is there for us all to see now. You're making great progress, and I love the realism of budget constraints and practical solutions. Most of us don't have unlimited funds or skills and you show us what is achievable. Great content 👍

Just wanna give y'all a high five for the Great ( hard) work your doing! 🤚🙌
And that I don't see it much in the insulation business, but y'all are one of the few who install fiberglass correctly!! Most staple on the inside stud, but y'all did it correctly. Overlapping on exterior stud!!🙂
Maybe ck in to Rock wool ( Lowes) better R value than foam!! And fire retardant
    Y'all are Awesome!!

You two make a great team! Sam you are right when you're wrong and someone brings it to your attention you have learned something new and you won't be wrong the next time. It's really good you are able to do these remodels without living in the trailer. Brand new home soon. 🏡. Love your videos!
