    The greatest villain in soap history and this was one of his best scenes, him being ganged up on by Don Brennan, Percy Sugden, Alf Roberts and Jack Duckworth. The street had had enough of him. Mark Eden what a brilliant actor.

    • @diehard21000
      @diehard21000 Před 2 lety +1

      Totally disagree, while I think grant would of won, Frank was built solid and could throw punch while percy was well to old and frail. Look at 60 year old Frank punched Dan sullivan in mouth who flew back into wall, OK he would of lost that to younger man but Frank at same age as Mitchells or Dan and that would of been a scrap

    The Geoff Metcalfe of his day was Alan Bradley... Which is why I will never understand all the viewer backlash over the Geoff stuff in recent months!
    I can understand why Alan is touchy in this scene though, as he IS being wrongly accused of doing away with Rita, who has fled to Blackpool, and without his knowledge.

    Little did we know at the time, that Audrey Roberts was actually his (Alan Bradley aka Mark Eden) real-life wife.
    Lived to grand old age of 90 plus years, until 2021.
    Eden had a real presence on-screen, much to do with his build and his no-nonsense approach I suspect that made him an ideal candidate for many roles on British TV.
    Alongside Corrie some of his other credits included Agatha Christie's Poirot and Heartbeat.
    I never really knew just how old he had been or that he had sadly died in recent years.
    Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family including his long-term wife actress Sue Nicholls.
    RIP Mark Eden.
