- In this video I compare the cost of living in Chelsea, NYC, one of the more desirable neighborhoods in one of the most expensive cities in the US to the cost of living in Poblado, Medellin, Colombia, which is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in one of the more expensive cities in Colombia. I'd just like to shed light for those that don't know, and remind those that already know, the amount of money you can save by simply living and working abroad.
After Medellin you Can Live a month in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo! Always learning from u, one of the Best channels
I do really want to go to Brazil, but I've been hell bent on becoming fluent in Spanish and I'm worried to throw Portuguese in there. Want to perfect my Spanish first, but I will definitely love to explore Brazil soon :)
Murder capital of the world. Don't go to Brazil
Ayyy another update, love these videos!
Thank you!
Say hello to George Gammon for me lol
Just now looking into him :)
This is awesome 😎 so glad you made the move! Do you speak Spanish? Is that necessary?
Great video! I just moved back to the states (NYC actually) after living 2 years in Medellin and man I'm struggling readjusting to USA prices! 🤣
Nice! NYC prices are ridiculous, you just have to be creative, lots of free activities and cheap food if you're creative and know where to go!
@@moneythoughts Yeah - im figuring it all out now!
The best coffee is outside of Medellin if you go to El Retiro or to Guatapé. Medellin outside of Poblado and Envigado has limited cafes actually. Smart gym in Colombia is excellent right in Poblado and they have them all over Colombia .
Thank you! Yea, Colombian coffee is the best, even in NYC I always get the Colombian roast. Already a member of SmartFit :) You already know!
@@moneythoughts NYC is a major sh!thole. That's why it's cheaper than Colombia.
Hello. Former Mayor Bloomberg paid for a decent cup of coffee for $0.50. Men can go to a barber shop and you can pay less than $20.00 for a haircut. You can get a membership at Costco and get groceries /eyewear/pharmacy/basic auto parts for cheap.
Where? I'm comparing two high end neighborhoods in two major cities. In Chelsea, NYC, it's not cheap.
where do you get a $20 haircut in Manhattan? or a coffe for 0.50? where please where? specific address or business name, thx.
The best coffee I had in Medellin was in Envigado neighborhood. It had a hindu yoga theme to it. I never spent $5 on a cappuccino in NYC. What are you talking about ??? Italian mini deli on east 67th street had Capuccino for $3 and little Italy as little as $2 for a good Cappuccino.
How about social life? Meeting people?
So easy to meet people here, lots of co-working spaces, ex-pat communities / groups, or other groups. You can meet people doing tours, taking spanish classes, or if you're trying to meet girls Tinder here is great! It just depends on you getting out and meeting people. Also, helps to know Spanish if you're trying to make friends with locals!
how about health insurance? How you handle it?
For young and healthy people I recommend a bare minimum health insurance plan.
Show us the $400 per month apartment in Columbia that would be a REAL comparison to the one in NYC 😂
I don't think my $385 apartment is a good representation of a normal rent in NYC haha.
@@moneythoughts In NYC I know undocumented Mexicans that pay $200 a month in rent. Sh!thole NYC is the most affordable city in the world. It's a major sh!thole that's why.
Deep Left Learn to spell Colombia
Sad nervous man
Cities in Colombia are not sh! tholes. Manhattan NYC is a major filthy sh!thole. So you are wrong because NYC is way cheaper than Medellin or Cartagena. $1 pizza everywhere in NYC. They do expect tips in Colombia. Especially Cartagena and Medellin which has been so Americanized.
I'm comparing two of the most expensive neighborhoods, in two of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US Vs Colombia. $1 pizza would need to be compared to like an empanada that you could buy on the street of Medellin, which would still be around half that price. I don't agree that NYC is a shit hole, but you have your opinion, that's fine.
@@moneythoughts NYC has litter everywhere and trains don't work. In Medellin streets are clean and everything works. Medellin even has air trams and a beautiful park called Arvi. Much nicer than filthy central park. Also people in Medellin look good. In NYC people look like zombies. Weather in Medellin is better too. By what metric is sh!thole NYC the greatest city in the world????
@@moneythoughts NYC is the world's biggest sh! thole. Just visit my channel. I expose New York for the joke it is.
@@moneythoughts No empanadas is less than $1 in Medellin. NYC has dollar stores everywhere including in sh!thole Chelsea. Of course Medellin is going to be more expensive it's a.more elegant city than NYC. NYC is a dump.
