I see these places - small - oddly shaped - random doors like in this one - and I wonder what the place was like when it was being used as it was originally built to be used. It is obvious these "apartments" are broken up out of an existing building that may have been a residence? or had bigger apartments divided? or something. So far as living there - I understand you make more money in NYC, so if you can live on as small a budget as this and still draw a NYC paycheck, it seems you could save up a crap ton of money living like this so - YEAH - I would do it if that was my situation.

Yeah, this is a room for rent but honestly if you're happy where you live, cheers! My cousin owned a three bedroom house in Calgary before moving into a tiny 1 bedroom apartment in a 5 story walk up in Brooklyn. But she loves where she lives. I rented a room in a house in Belfast. I had a small room, shared bathroom, kitchen. I was way happier there than I am in a 2 bedroom in the middle of east bumble fuck Alberta.

The electric kettle is a must have for sure. I love mine. Use it all the time especially to speed up the cooking process when making pasta....rice.....frozen whatever. Of course nice inside the kettle......just quick boiling water to start off something on the stove. If that made sense. I wish I were there and had truck.......you would be missing that white dresser and mirror. Gorgeous piece of furniture. Good for you. Looks like you have made do with a very small space. No different than living in a dorm.....so its not that big of a shock. I live in studio and its nice having everything right there in front of you. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

I feel bad for the dogs, what an awful life for them. No way I would ever share a bathroom, or not have a full functioning kitchen. That is not a way to live. And just to live in NY...no way I would ever want to live there. Cannot imagine him being happy at all.

Very impressive. You made it work for you and have such a great attitude. The location is central and you have a decent view. I'm with the other folks commenting about the shared bathroom, though. But if you and your neighbors can manage to keep it clean, why not? I would love to see how this place evolves in future videos. (I LOVE the blue paint and found mirrors.) I was curious after reading the title to your video since when I first came to NYC I also lived in a tiny apartment, but not as tiny as that. And then at 80 sq ft I was surprised that you also have 2 dogs. You're still relatively young so it's a good way to save money though.

No bathroom, not an apartment. It's a room. Also, you should raise that bed about 6ft ,there's a ton of right foot there and use the aditional space below the bed. But hey, what do I know, that's just me...

What a great use of space! You have all you need and aren’t saddled with useless fluff. You also live in NYC so you have access to everything.

I live in a 170 sq ft apartment in Seattle and I'm paying more than double what you're paying. And yes, if my rent were under $400 I would give living in an 80 sq ft place a try as long as the location was good.

hello mthoughts, thank you for this stream - think it is nice apt - the location is close to nice things and not the age or how much the rent or size of your place. always with a roommate since finishing school time. nyc has great dining time and shops. always first with movie screening or new artists premier. elle for small is best
