- Hi Friends, I ended up taking a long break from making videos over the last few months, but I'm turning things around and think I'm on the up. Thanks for your messages and support. I've been recovering from an injury and struggling with motivation.
Now that things are looking up, if you have any suggestions for topics, I'm all ears.

Hi Rachel so glad to hear you’re on the mend.
I heard recently that even walking in water can strengthen muscles and counts as strength exercise so I’m sure being back in the water will be good for you. Take your time and know that we are all rooting for you and hope that you will be fully recovered before too long
Lovely to see you back on youtube Sorry hear you've Not Been well get better soon And I hope you get back in the water soon.
Hi Rach, good to see you back. I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. As and when you feel up to doing another video I'd love to hear an update on the Zoe nutrition plan. What do you think? Does it work? Would you recommend it? How much is it? At least you won't need to put your body through any difficult stuff - you can just do a quick update wherever you are most comfortable. Get well soon x
Lovely to have you back, Rachel 😊

Missed you. Injuries are so hard to deal with, it's a huge struggle to realise that one can't do what one normally does. One has to go back to the beginning. It will get better.
I'm glad you are feeling both a bit better physically and mentally. I was wondering how you were. Looking forward to seeing some videos. Love hearing ans seeing the sea!
Glad you're doing better. I did miss your soothing, relaxing, adventurous videos.
Dear Rachel, what a beautiful location, being out in nature really boost our mood. Glad you are starting to make a recovery, look after yourself, very encouraging video, thanks ❤

We’ve all missed you terribly Rachel but totally understand you needing to take time out for yourself. Back injuries are debilitating and sap your energy for everything. I’m so glad you’re slowly on the mend and I really hope you can venture safely back into the water soon. Sending hugs 🤗
Sending love and healing 💙 Thank you for sharing💙💙💙

Ride the roller coaster Rachel - with all its ups and downs
We love you regardless.

You’ve been through such a lot this year Rachel, it’s not surprising your mojo has gone awol for a while. Good to hear you feel you’ve turned a corner, and looking forward to watching your inspirational videos soon xx
Hi Rachel so sorry to hear you haven't been well, missed your videos. hopefully you are well on to a full recovery. My wife suffers from anxiety, and it always helps to have a dip in our tank or a swim at Stoney Cove. Hopefully you can get back in the water once your able and get a kick of those feel good endorphins. Take care and hugs. x
Hi Gary thanks for your thoughts. I'm doing well thanks, getting back to the water is great. I had been in the water a bit, just not as much as usual and couldn't bring myself to make videos as it was too draining. Hopefully getting back into the swing of things now x
So great to see you back here...a brave video 🤗 Glad you are feeling better. Hope the tensioning of the rigging goes well and that mast stays well and truly upright.
Sorry to hear about your back, hope the strengthening work goes well and you can get back to what you love. Take care

Aww Rach you're amazing - you are so good and committed at what you do its nice to know you are human and a gorgeous one at that! This is inspiring for me not having the greatest of times either. Look after yourself.
Offering you a virtual hug 🤗
Hi Dave I hope you are seeing a route to feeling better. Maybe get yourself to some water and just look at and listen to it whilst having a warm drink or a picnic meal. Hang on in there, things will improve 🤗
Really good to see your face again Rachel. Sorry you have been through a difficult period, but hope that it is passing.
Bravo! Good to have you back. 🎉
I really feel your pain. I injured my back 40 years ago. I have periods when it does not bother me and others when I become a wheelchair user because of the pain. I sincerely hope you have a full and permanent recovery.
I do so enjoy your very informative videos that encouraged me to join my local chill swimming group
Keep up the good work 👏
Thanks James, I'm on the mend, but following scans now know what I'm dealing with and am learning how to support the lumbar spine. Thanks for your thoughts, I'm thrilled you joined your local swimming group 🏊♀️😀
Hi Rach, I’m so sorry for your troubles, long Covid is just awful and I’m glad you are finding things that are helpful. And back pain too, when it rains it pours right?! I’m glad you took time off to take care of yourself, keep taking as much time as you need, we will be glad to see you when you come back! I always find your videos inspiring and helpful. And it’s inspiring to hear about your healing as well.
Your videos have helped me to stay motivated this year, while recovering from a nasty foot and back injury. Thank you!
I hope your foot and back injury are healing and you're getting back to doing everything you enjoy x
I’m definitely on the mend, glad you are too!
Welcome back Rachel, I have missed you sooo much!
When I think back to all the tricky times during the pandemic that your videos got me through I feel so grateful - you are a real hero of mine. I am so sorry to hear how hard it has been for you lately and I sincerely hope that brighter times are just around the corner 🌞
Thank you Heather, what lovely words. I’m certainly on the up now 🏊♀️😀
Good to know that you are on the up again. It must have been such a trial,as you're normally so active. Look forward to joining you for the Bluetonic challenge.🙏
The challenge will be a great way to bob through winter.
Lovely to see you again. Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time.
Take it easy and hope you carry on improving.
You really helped me a year ago with your fabulous and informative advice when I first started sea swimming. I never thought I’d be going in the sea all year round! A full year has gone by and I’m loving it with a fab Bluetit group in Colwyn Bay. The Blue Bay Bits. X
Colony Bay always looks so beautiful when I drive along the coast. So chuffed you've managed all year long. Well done, enjoy the winter months x
@@EverydayAthleteRach you’ll have to join us, that would be so fantastic x
How lovely to see you again, sorry you have felt so low but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel and you can get back to what you love. I know we don’t know each other but I have really missed your videos, you seem like such a lovely person and I always look forward to seeing what you post. Keep looking forward and look after yourself. Still hoping you might come and swim at Southbourne one day!
I'll come over soon 🏊♀️
I am sorry that you have injured your back, but am happy to learn that you are on the mend. I had been meaning to write to tell you how much you motivated me to start start cold water swimming. I have arthritis in my knee and last fall had a huge flair up with inflammation. I am not a swimmer, but I started going to my the pool at my local recreation centre. Being in the water was very helpful and it just felt good to be able to move without feeling stiff or in pain. I began to wonder if going into cold water might help, and after doing some research I was directed to your videos. They were just the motivation I needed. I joined a group, Cold Water Addicts, who swim in the ocean everyday. My first swim was on December 28th, 2022 and my goal was to do 70 swims before December 29, 2023. I don't swim every day, but today I was my 83rd cold water dip. Last winter when the water temperature was @ 7C I would water one of your CZcams vlogs to get me motivated. Your enthusiasm and joy in the water truly inspired me. Cold water dipping, along with a few other supplements and a bit of physiotherapy have changed my life this past year. And, I would really like to thank you for your posts. I know that the hardest part about being injured is not being able to move or get around like we are used to. I am sure that you are getting lots of support and encouragement from your community and family and your dog Cookie. if you are ever in Victoria, BC, come and join us for a swim. Wishing you all the best.
Hey Debby, thanks for reaching out. I'm thrilled to hear how outdoor swimming has helped your situation and that you have found a group to go with. I would love to join you for a swim in BC, I'll put it on my bucket list x
Missed you, looking forward to your next video. Great that you’re on the mends.
Thank you!
You’re my blue hero Rachel, without your videos, I would have never have had the confidence to swim in the sea - or anywhere else! I also had a back injury (they are so common, the price for bipedalism) a year ago and it took another year to fully recover so I understand your frustration, please take care of yourself and don’t rush back - we’ll all still be here when you return fully💙
Thank you, I'm doing physio now and have started trying to do 20 mins of yoga daily to build up strength to support my lower back.
Missed you Rachel, glad you're feeling a little better xo
Welcome back!
Welcome back Rachel. Its good to see you again. I too am struggling with a injury and can't do much. Its really hard when your therapy is the outdoors and being active.
Cold water is calling xx
If you have somewhere that's easy to get in to, maybe try a little dip. Otherwise, just hanging out by the water looking at and listening to it will be nice - we have to take it where we can. Hang on in there and best of luck with the recovery x
Thank you. My foot is more bearable after an hour of phyiso and two weeks of absolutely nothing! So planning on local dip in the next few days❤
I loved your scooter in todays video. Santa may bring one of those in his sack to Wales lol.
Pleased to seeing you having fun x
@@sallyohalloran6650 I love my scooter. Such a fun mode of transport!
❤
🎉
Missed you glad you're back
Lovely to see and hear you again Rachel. But remember, you come first... Your CZcams followers will understand. Take care and big hug from the Dales.
Hey Stu thanks for your thoughts. I'll be up your way (Huddersfield - well it's closer to you than it is to me) in November with at least one day off. Will be in contact to see if you fancy a collab! Rach x
Go gently Rachel you’ll be back in the water in new blue spaces next year.
Thank you, I'm taking things gently.
Rachel… we’ve all been there… it’s OK to feel a bit down when our bodies aren’t working like we want them to. It can be totally depressing when the very thing we love so much, moving our bodies in the outdoors, becomes painful or limited. This gal has has 6 orthopaedic surgeries, and I fully understand your reasons for taking time to heal and adjust. I never messaged you because I knew we would see you here when the time was right for you. I didn’t want you to feel pressured or like you had to deliver weekly videos. With that said, I’m really glad to hear your good news that you are able to start rehab… water is a great place to help the body mend. I always enjoy your content, I look forward to seeing whatever it is that you want to share with us. Take care of yourself, and go at your own pace. We’re here supporting you as you work to support your mast. Thanks for the little update, I loved the sound of the water in the background as you were speaking. Thanks for that. Ⓜary💦🏊♀
Hey Mary, great to hear from you. I'm guessing your swim spot is now frozen over, so it's up to me to swim vicariously for you! 🏊♀️😀
Wishing you a swift recovery. May I ask whether the repeated cold exposure makes you less needing of home heating ie does it help keep thermostat down when heating house?
Hi Laura, I think it helps as we only have our heating on to 17 degrees C in winter.
@@EverydayAthleteRach Thanks so much for responding to my question.
