No Cinewhoop? No Problem! Risking It All For The FPV Footage

- This is probably a bad idea, but once I set my mind on something I rarely give up. I love the challenge of getting in as close as I can with my FPV drone and GoPro. This spot is sketchy though. Hitting a tree here would almost certainly result in a crash leaving the drone and GoPro to be smashed to pieces and lost forever in the turbulent waters that pound against the rock on the way down the steep mountainside. Flown with my Falcon 7 long range build.
Here's the raw unstabilized version in the full 4000x3000 resolution: • No Cinewhoop? No Probl...

Here's the raw unstabilized version in the full 4000x3000 resolution (basically right off the GoPro's SD card) Also includes DVR for the third and longest shot in the video.

Are you still staying with dji v2s
Nice, the first shot was perfectly framed and lined up. Great stuff, I can feel the stress in these sort of flights.
Thanks very much, I appreciate the comment!
OldguyFPV says; It's all about the "gap"! Beautiful!
Thank you!
Respect. I could hear your brain working through the screen multiple times. "Should I do it? Even deeper? Yes! No! Oh, come on!" 😄
Thanks for the comment!
If there was a FalconRad flight rating system as there is for challenging ski runs, this flight would be a ♦♦♦ (3x black diamond) FR.
Places like 2:43 and 3:45 the path looks easier by going lower, but at same time know that you mess with your RF line-of-sight, and tree foliage would mess with signal. Thanks for sharing the analog view with OSD (link in desc) a much different perspective. Your nerves had to be tingling. Amazing!!
Thanks so much for the comment! Ya there were a couple of spots where I really was tempted to take a lower route, but being a little uncertain of how solid the video connection was I didn't want to go underneath anything since my bailout method when losing video is to throttle up vertically until my video returns. If I remember right I squeezed this flight in at the end of the day so I only did this one pass through that long part (the third clip). In the future maybe I'll put in some time getting to know it better and learn a better route to take. Perhaps a job for my new DJI 03 build.
@@FalconRadFPV Definitely, throttling up in such a situation would be drone suicide. Unfortunately in real life, there is no pause button to stop and think about a situation.
Scary, scary flight
It's always flat calm and sunny with a terrific location...Kudos for flying in those trees tops using Analogue though. An HD link would have made it less risky for sure....🤔😳😳😏🇬🇧
Thank you. We have lots of nice sunny weather last year. It's been cloudy and rainy for the past 4 months now though, looking forward to that sunny weather again...
This is amazing mate! Such an incredible job, especially considering you fly analog and that would have been a sea of green!! Gorgeous footage once again Falcon! 🙌❤
Thank you! Cheers!
I think worth mentioning is that you fly analog, so the image quality you are getting in the goggles is no where near what we can see recorder on the GoPro. I can only imagine how difficult would be to fly in this dense area with analog resolution.
Ya I should have put some DVR in this one! It was flown with analog video.
Your locations are amazing. There is something to envy. 😅😊
Thanks! 😃
That Was Awesome!!!
PEOPLE HAVE KNOW IDEA HOW SCARY THIS IS KILLER JOB
Thanks buddy!
What an amazing flight! Well done man. I see your pinned comment about the DVR, that was going to be my next question. Would love to take look at that and see your rc link and video feed! Awesome man!
Thanks for the comment!
nice!! think I'll rig up an orange chute then call a drone rescue service winch her on out!! fantasy perhaps but gliding with ya on this journey is relaxing!!
Thanks!
Awesome. You post the best videos!!!!
Thanks so much!
Yes, this is not a good idea to fly a 7inch like a cinewhoop. Glad you don't lost your quad.
Pure Magic.
Thanks.
really challenging with analog VRX. 👍👍👍
and you need balls to fly that close to the trees.
impressive. 👌
Thanks 👍
Amazing flying and footage, dude! 😃
Stunning spot!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks MC! Keep well my friend. 👍😉
Cool video - nice flying
Thanks 👍
Nice!
Awesome job! Well done my friend!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice. You can keep your flippety-flops, this is what its all about :)
Thank you!
cliffs and waterfalls
It takes courage to fly to a place where you can't return if you make a mistake.
Thanks, ya it's intimidating for sure. No way to get it back over there.
wow
Oh good for 7" its look so close to the trees
Really gentle stick movements needed for sure.
I do a lot of risky forest flights but No way I'd have the balls to do this with analog. 😂
It was a bit scary!
I’d actually prefer and trust Analog/HDZero over DJI/WS in this sort of situation. Static breakup is the key to knowing your losing good LOS.
• I always say DJI lies to you, hides the problem until it’s too late. Additionally reduced image resolution and increased latency can be a nightmare for this sort of flight path.
• Analog/HDZero instantly tell you with static when you’re about to make a big mistake, and image resolution/latency remain the same.
However, No matter what system you use this flight path is super stressful! Cheers!
@@GiantAntCowboy Valid points but I gotta be able to see the scraggle. Even when flying evergreens there's always the possibility of a dead branch sticking out somewhere.
@@illicit_fpv8208 Truth. I have limited experience with DJI but what I haven’t like about WalkSnail is the image resolution fall apart in the trees and it actually easier to see scraggle with my HDZero setup. I made quick video demonstrating this:
czcams.com/video/iZ6SxkdBjXg/video.html
Always pros and cons.
Great, except the jerky blur and focus artifacts caused eye strain and headache. Why was the data rate so low? Was it not being recorded on an SD card with virtually unlimited memory, given the length of the flight? Or was it caused by the upload/CZcams compression. I watched the whole thing anyway be cause it was a wonderful flight, but my eyes still feel strained.
Thanks for the comment. Ya the clarity on this one was not great. Sometimes ReelsteadyGo can ruin the crispness of the footage a bit. It was far more crisp without stabilization but it was a bit jerky. I actually made the video first unstabilized, it was way crisper looking but I thought it was too jerky and decided to remake the video using stabilized footage. I actually just downloaded gyroflow yesterday to give it a try. Sounds like it might give some better results from what I've heard. Maybe I should have stuck with the unstabilized version...
I tried using gyroflow maybe my computer is to slow took a long time to render a four minute flight.
I’ll build you a cine bro
Oh thanks buddy, I'll get to making a cinewhoop sometime. It's probably time I build myself some smaller quads. I've been missing having a 5" build as well.
@@FalconRadFPV it would literally be an honor to build you something no joke!!🦾🙏🏽
