- Testimony is continuing Wednesday afternoon in the trial of Alec Baldwin. Baldwin faces an involuntary manslaughter charge related to the deadly shooting on the "Rust" movie set near Santa Fe in 2021. More "Rust" coverage: www.kob.com/tag/rust/
It was no accident! He pointed the gun towards the DP and pulled the trigger. Whether or not he believed the gun was not loaded is besides the point. He pulled the trigger while pointing the gun at a person during a rehearsal when guns are never actually shot. Witnesses said that right before the rehearsal, the armorer was given permission to walk off set since the gun would not be shot. I don’t know anyone in their right mind who would do that! Someone died because of recklessness. The armorer, the AD and AB are all responsible for the tragic death of Halyna. I would also include in the lot the producers who were in charge of hiring the armorer.

My gut feeling is that Baldwin will get away with it. All we can hope is that his career is destroyed and no one in their right mind will want to work with him again. To advertise his future reality show right before the trial is so senseless and contemptuous of his part! I hope the investors will pull the plug on this tasteless masquerade! I always loved Baldwin until the tragedy and watching him and how he has been conducting himself ever since is revolting!
Why isn’t the fact that Baldwin did not follow the director’s instructions and pulled the trigger when he was never instructed to do so and was not necessary as they were doing a blocking rehearsal! Blocking has nothing to do with acting. Blocking is for the DP to watch the actors movements so he or she can place the camera accordingly! Why isn’t the prosecution focusing on that?

@@braindead7560 the very first protocol on the list of safety protocols when handling guns on a film set according to the equity association states: Treat all guns as if they are loaded and deadly.
You are correct: dummies cannot kill. But recklessness, negligence, inexperience definitely can.
This trial is such BS! Baldwin is as guilty as armorer and AD. If it was up to me, I would charge all the producers (INCL Baldwin)n as well for allowing such unsafe environment on set! All guilty.
