Your room looks lovely. As a fellow pillow lover, I do suggest the large pillows on the chairs be exchanged for pretty throws. They will be on the floor every time someone uses the chairs. Yes, sad, but true.
I don’t agree as those pillows give good lumbar support, other wise you’re sitting into a right angle…. Not comfy at all
It all looks lovely. I think the chair cushion is perfect as is! It’s a nice pop of color that matches the room well. But, I’m sure whatever you pick will be lovely as well!
Think about recovering the chair cushion with a different fabric/print on each side, so you can flip it 👍🏻
Or could you try dying it more of a darker red tone or burgundy or navy, as a next step before recovering it. I think having at least one darker piece anchors the room.
Very cozy and pretty for fall. I love how your living room has come together piece by piece as you patiently wait for just the things to add into your home. You set a good example of not needing to have everything right now!

Love the new cane chair! It could use a smaller throw pillow. It hides the beautiful cushion and cane detail. The sofa also needs at least 2 more throw pillows. If you are planning to keep the same drapes, pull a color from them to use for throw pillows. I have been a designer and home stager for 40 years and I just cannot help myself from giving ideas to people when decorating their homes.

The couch is perfect. I agree that a different color would be better for the custom cushion. You could even have very short moss fringe (indicates the name of it, not the color moss) used as the piping. Very British. I have a large 102 yr/old English Tudor/cottage (in Los Angeles) and have had many cushions, pillows and window treatments custom-made over the years. I love the rug and the touches of black. A well-known British designer has said that there’s always a touch of something black in every classically designed English living area. Loved seeing your sweet pup!! So adorable!
Your room looks lovely. The orange cushion works for the fall season, I think a neutral would be better for year round. It's a very nice chair. I've always loved this room.

It looks great. I think the cushion that came with the chair looks really nice and picks up some color from the drapes. Give it a try for a while and see if it grows on you. Very cozy!
I never use the pillows that come with the couch...use your own... BEAUTIFUL 💗
A suggestion for the cushion is to dye the fabric. You could do a brown, dark gray, or black to make it a more neutral color. I have done that with things that I did not like the color of. It would be an easy project and if you don't end up liking the way it looks you could still get it reupholstered like you had originally planned.

You could use the dresser behind the couch as it faces the shelves. The side backs of the couch that aren’t covered are going to fade. The dresser would then be what you walk into and make a beautiful welcome.

Your living room does look very cozy. We recently got a new sofa and chair after 20+ years. We downsized to a 70” sofa from a 90” monster since it’s just me and my husband and we placed it in front of our window. I love sitting there watching the birds or the rain and soon, the snow. We have a large overhang on the window but you inspired me to add a throw to the back for the fall and winter. Have a great weekend.

i would use a fabric dye on the chair cushion. only a few dollars but instant fix. the orange colour would dye well to a deep olive or navy.

I really like the cushion for your new chair it adds a pop of color to the room, and it looks like it blends perfectly with your curtains. I definitely would leave it in the chair, especially for fall. Just a suggestion bring back the cushion and use the throw over the back of the chair, but the large pillow in the new chair is a little too large for that delicate chair. You do such a great job. I love your decorating style!!!💕

The new couch is lovely. I would personally leave it to max 1 cushion per armchair - the one with 2 on it seems less inviting because you don't visually see the flat space to sit on, if you see what I mean?
The couch and rug are perfect! It all looks so inviting. If it were me, I would remove the bolsters and use the cushions you love. But of course you do what you like best.
The room is lovely!! We bought a new sofa last year. It is very neutral. It is a taupe. I had in my mind what I wanted and waited until I found “the just right” piece. It took me 2 years. 😂 But, it was also during the time where there were shortages of everything. We don’t often get new things and live with them for a long time- so, I didn’t want to “settle” for something and regret it.

I love the new sofa! and thanks for the cute cameo of Finn, he's adorable. I sew a little but not well enough for piping / cushion projects. The fabric on the seat cushion of my wing chair was falling apart ( I did eventually get the whole chair recovered) but in the meantime I bought fabric and just used really large safety pins to fasten it to the back for a brand new look. I know its not a permanent solution but thought I'd tell you it worked for me until I had the money to re upholster the chair. Happy fall!
One thing you might consider is putting the computer in an armoire with doors to the left of the fireplace. Then you can move the couch in front of the bookshelf.
That is an option, and we had a similar setup like that years ago. Now we put our Christmas tree to the left of the fireplace and there’s no other place to put it so it has to remain somewhat open and if I put anything there it needs to be easily moved for that season 💚
Maybe the tree could go in front of the window if the couch is not there. Just thinking things through with you a little bit. 😊 Love your channel and you're home.

The cover on the cane chair is beautiful! I don't know what the true color is but it looks to be a coral. It looks like the same color that is in the drapes. The sofa looks off white on video. I love the style of the sofa! Your living room looks so cozy.

Decorative couch pillows have always been an issue for our family LoL at one point when my girls were little, the pillows spent most of their time thrown on the floor with a dog sleeping on them! Now we own a leather sectional ( which we absolutely love) and my husband piles all three couch pillows up and uses them as a recliner 😂 so 99% of the time my beautiful pillows are stacked up in the corner of the couch with a husband leaning leaning on them! Oh well, I guess when your living room is truly lived in you can't be too fussy. I always find that the perfect accent to any room, though, is a happy dog ❤ beautiful job making your home a cozy, loving place for your family

Love the new sofa and the throw on the back is so smart. Over the years we have learned how faded things get with the sunlight. Even wood furniture has been bleached out on a side facing a window. Love the new cane chair .. have you thought of dying the cushion a dark hunter green? I do think a smaller little lumbar pillow would look nice on it ,so you could see more of the caning, which is so beautiful

Hilary spend the money to get the cushion recovered in a fabric you love and is child/dog friendly. take the cost and divide by many years/ months, it more than pays for itself. Well worth the money. You will be happy. The chair is beautiful and is a solid piece, it is one of those occasions where I say do it right the first time, especially since the chair is an excellent piece. Love the sofa although it looks beige on my computer. Try using more textured pillows on sofa (pottery barn type look but in your style, with a ruffle as a small accent pillow or tapestry pillow type to pull colors. Love your home it is very well done. Or resew those pillows a bite smaller I think they are too large for the sofa in that style is your problem the sofa has very clean lines. So, you need to bring the look w=you want in fabric and textures. Not ruffles, although a pillow can have trim just not big.

You should get blinds or shutters on your living room window to reduce the sun exposure to the couch. I actually like the color of the cushion on the chair. Nice POP of color and looks good with the throw. Bigger pillows on the couch and smaller on the chairs. Looks very cozy.

Everything looks great! We had couches that color for many years and they went with every season perfectly and I never got tired of the green. Makes me miss them!!
