One of the updates I noticed was the removal of the scalloped trim above the window - it makes such a difference in older kitchen remodels. Love the look of your kitchen in any season!
It's so beautifully refreshed! I love the idea of using a tea towel, there's so many pretty ones out there to choose from, and you could do that easily seasonally.
Everything turned out so lovely. After many years I finally found what makes me happy as far as home decor so I do not follow any home decor trends. Same goes for fashion. It's very liberating.

Have you considered swapping out your island chairs for straight back chairs. There’s such minimal space I would think the angled chair just doesn’t work. I should mention everything looks great. 😊

Always appreciate the realness of how you approach home reno - because at the end of the day having a roof over your head and good health are better than 50K-100K for just "wanting" picture perfect with debt and the stress of paying that off before those interest rates keep going up and up!! A clean kitchen is always the best place to start!

We saved a lot of money by shopping the "remnant" area at the stone place (yard?) . You have inspired me to undertake repainting cabinetry. Have definitely been procrastinating. Beautiful kitchen. You are very smart to have kept those cabinets. Probably better made than what’s out there today. And the doors are vintage 😍 Just wanted to share- I too have a porcelain sink. No amount of scrubbing with a dry eraser and bar keepers friend worked. I had dark scratches and dings, and it just was looking so bad. Yesterday I used Clorox bleach toilet cleaner and let it sit for like 20 minutes. My sink looks like I just installed it. All the dark dings and scratches were probably just imbedded dirt I couldn’t get out. Btw, the 3rd kitchen pic you showed was the inspiration pic I used 8 years ago to design my kitchen😍.

We just hired someone to paint our cabinets white (to update for selling) they just used Sherwin Williams paint with no sealer. The place we just bought has 1970s dark wood cabinets so I'm trying to decide what to do with them. The hardware is also in the middle of the cabinet so if I want to keep the wood, the hardware position can't change. I'm thinking of moving the hardware, using wood filler for the holes, and then painting the cabinets in place ourselves. We'll see-thanks for sharing your process! Enjoy your August off.

dark stone counetrs combined with white cabinets is a gorgeous combination. I have exactly that. because you have brass/copper accents try to look into star galaxy granite counters, there are specs of that copper in the material. it is beautiful and also ideal for when you quickly want to cut something without going through the effort of getting a cutting board. also very easy to clean, the shine comes up beautifully with basically just hot water and a cloth. anyway that's my tip for you.

Oh, so glad you did not stop, kitchen looks nice. I need to refresh mine but will wait until after Christmas, too much other stuff to do outside. I live in Florida, and it is too hot to do yard work in the summer other than what you have to. So, we have our garden to put in and some plants too. We did paint the outside ourselves. I painted front and one side, husband did the rest. Have been decorating for fall very early, I cannot wait for it. I got rid of all light stuff and went color and pattern. I did greens, gold, and oranges this year. It is what I love. I did low color neutrals last year and I did enjoy it. I redid the quest bedroom. Totally different then my usual. I am loving it. Just replaced duvet added bright sheets, and striped, green pillows, dark green curtains with gold leaves. Duvet cover is a yellow tan with large flowers on it and leaves. So made a flower arrangement in a green ceramic textured vase, even painted the flowers to better match the large floral in duvet cover. Looks so good. I ordered beehive sheets form JC Penny's. Also, added a bed skirt from Amazon. Going to paint my front door a color, it is black and screen the same color. Also need to paint garage door but have to wait for cooler weather to paint them. Love the kitchen.

Makes me wish I had stayed in Jersey and just worked on my 1960s ranch house, but my husband wanted to retire to a golf community in SC, so here I am. He has passed away, and with the current interest rates, I feel kind of stuck where I am. So, for now, I'll just watch your videos and see what I can do around here to update my 2004 open concept home on a budget . Love it! I knew it would come out great. I love the curtains too. I sew under the sink curtains for every season, its fun to switch them out and adds character I think. My husband initially wasn't on board to remove to cabinet doors and use curtains instead but now he's a fan. Take all the time you need, enjoy the rest of your summer! Its been SO HOT here I am starting to think about fall.... just a little bit ;)

I painted my kitchen cabinets with Benjamin Moore Advance also and it has held up so very well.

I love your kitchen....I love that you embraced what you have....I replaced my cabinets and let me tell you, the quality of new is not as good as vintage/old.
The kitchen looks amazing! All of your ideas are so encouraging. We have an older home, too, so my husband painted the kitchen cabinets, ceramic tiled the kitchen floor, and installed porcelain countertops. My kitchen is a lovely neutral and is so warm and very practical. I've been following you since Evey was a little and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Always nice to have an Island with stools too! Just a question? have you ever thought to move your Island about a foot closer toward your stove wall?? Gives the stool some room to get behind??

Yes we’ve considered that, but we prefer to have more walking/working space in front of the stove. There’s plenty of room behind the stools 💛
You are an example to many. So wise to take off the month of August and no apologies for not posting for a week. I personally don’t like a post everyday or even every week…that may just be me…. I am an older lady but can still learn from a younger, energetic person like you.😊. The ideas you had in updating your kitchen were all so “do- able” and made a big difference. I love your cozy kitchen (and your whole house actually). Makes me wish I had stayed in Jersey and just worked on my 1960s ranch house, but my husband wanted to retire to a golf community in SC, so here I am. He has passed away, and with the current interest rates, I feel kind of stuck where I am. So, for now, I'll just watch your videos and see what I can do around here to update my 2004 open concept home on a budget . Definitely looking forward to Fall and Christmas videos from you as I do every year. Have fun getting ready for the school year!

So impressed by all the upgrades and renovations you've completed in this house. This is such an adorable house, nice floor plan and tons of character. Love it! I knew it would come out great. I love the curtains too. I sew under the sink curtains for every season, its fun to switch them out and adds character I think. My husband initially wasn't on board to remove to cabinet doors and use curtains instead but now he's a fan. Take all the time you need, enjoy the rest of your summer! Its been SO HOT here I am starting to think about fall.... just a little bit ;)

Your kitchen turned out beautiful. I love the sconces and your curtains are really pretty. My aunt used to do a fun thing as she sewed her curtains as well. With each holiday/season she would make really cute curtains. I have Halloween curtains I made along with Christmas and Easter.
