It was trimmed for time, but I actually end up deciding "nah it's just the weird lighting." Then I see Farigiraf and go "oh well I have time to check--OOOH"
@@MandJTVPlays yeah the first time I had seen shiny corvinite was in violet and I was disappointed because I thought it was one of those shinies that barely change cuz of the shading but then I looked it up and it’s shiny is great

Just a heads up. After completing the story, you can access Area zero at anytime by simply jumping directly into the crater. You don't have to go through the zero gate, although it is nice for some of the teleport points.
So this is where you were hiding. Why didn't you show up for Mikey?

The way John got a crit capture on the shiny Sudowoodo was so clutch. Even if he had caught it, it would've shaken three times and he would've run out of time.

@@natnat-24 actually there's a bug where you can catch mons with only critical captures after you complete the dex sooooo legit would have had to be a crit capture lol

The pictures were not involved in the random generation (I used a pick-name-from-list site). Houndstone was what came up and the Greavard pic is a small error in editing

The exact same thing happened to me when I found a random shiny corviknight! My reaction was also "wait, no way... OH MY GOD!"

2:57 Corviknight was my first shiny in Scarlet. I found him 3 hours in as a Rookidee and named him SilverKnight because Shiny Corviknight was silver, and then used him the entire game.

I hunted rookidee in pokemon sword on the first route without any items and stuff and after 183 encounters there was the shiny rookiedee :)
I found a shiny swablu my first day and then a shiny crabrawler my second day. I'm starting to believe in the subscribe to PM7 motto. 😅 The only shiny I ever found before in any of the games from gen 1 to gen 8 was a shiny gigantimax milcery in a random den and I didn't realize it was shiny until I had almost completed the raid.

Fun fact! You can tell if it’s a critical capture before it shakes by looking at the white air stream stream as you throw the ball! If it curves, it’s a critical capture. If it doesn’t, it’s not:)

When you have no Pokemon on the screen and you spam the ZL button you have a higher chance of shines because Scarlet and Violet is made perfectly with no bugs or glitches
How about an extra rule: If you find a shiny one of the Pokemon you're looking for, your opponent gets a strike!

A tip for people hunting for eevee; I managed to get like, five or six by just running circles around Medali, I normally found them behind the town near the cliffs. There’s almost always been one there. I play Scarlet so it May not work for Violet but it was helpful for my living dex

I'm just outside of the second gym in my first playthrough for scarlet and I just found my third shiny. I've found the same amount of shinies in scarlet as I did in all of gen 8.
John happy for you when you get your shiny
So I apparently know why Mikey & PM7 were having trouble finding Seviper & Zangoose when they were going for them. Turns out they spawn in the same area, but if they face each other one will knock out the other for more spawning.
So you gotta be quick to either take out one of them to catch the other, run into the Pokémon your looking for before they fight, or look for a spot where one spawned & get it before its archenemy spawns in. Because both Pokémon fight for which one of them spawns more.
