If Pokémon were real and to try to catch a Pokémon if you held the ball shut then they couldn’t get out! Right? 🤔
@@863nickgoga no. If u tried grabbing it while it's in the process, the pop from it's escape could blow up in your face depending what the size and strength it is.
And you can see some pokemon obliterate it when it does get out. If your a trainer, your hands are by far your greatest weapons cause your gonna need them to throw pokeballs. The pokeball automatically shuts itself tight to make the catch, so holding on to it won't affect it what so ever.

Grass types are my favorite, and I generally like them, but in Legends, I actively use them as fodder to level up other Pokémon since they are such a nuisance.
They were nothing more than targets for my darling Quilava.

Heavy, Leaden, and Gigaton Balls are best used with Smoke Bombs, if you get a backstrike on a Pokemon with a Gigaton Ball it's basically a guaranteed capture.

Those balls have a better catch rate but they don't fly as far since they're heavy (obviously)
Smoke Bombs are off limits for this challenge.
Is Razz berry not allowed in this challenge? Kinda surprised both of them not using it.
I've seen this video more times than i can count and John saying: "No don't protect your babes, they're not important" gets me every time.
Is it just me who also feels John’s pain in hunting something and then seeing something you need for the dex?
Along with the placed alphas, after you quell the frenzied noble of an area every Pokemon has a 1%-2% chance to be alpha. Thats how you found the paras and combee in the first area
Here's a tip Mikey: If you are too far and hit a Pokemon without the Pokeball working, the Alpha won't see you because you are out of its range.

But honestly gigaton balls are amazing if you know how to use them correctly. Feed an alpha a cake, sneak up on it almost touching, then throw the poke ball with the highest catch rate in the game, 9 times out of 10 you'll get the alpha.

That parasect was the first alpha I ever caught, and I'm glad to see Mikey is struggling just as much as I did when I first caught it.
Paras was my first random shiny
Now I use it as a false swiper
My first alpha was a Tangela. My second was Kricketune.

I actually find it interesting that you both went for strategies completely different to what I was expecting. I thought to spam mudballs or other stun items and then just gigaton ball back strike them over and over. Makes me think how I would have done in this matchup :)

It seems you guys don't know this, so I'll just tell you- when a ball hops a small distance and only gives one smoke puff, it means you are guaranteed the catch, so if you see that, you can celebrate!

I love watching him struggle against Darkrai. Cause Darkrai apparently loves me I threw my first pokeball it was a feather ball wasn't even a backstrike and it was caught first try no battle. And to clarify FEATHER ball not wing or jet the loset class feather

It's mainly to catch flying Pokémon, they don't just have a longer range, they also move faster.
I am aware of this, it's just that I think Wing balls should have a longer range before they go *boonk* on the pokemon

Explaining the random Alphas: After quelling a Noble Frenzy of a designated area there is a chance that any pokemon will become one when you go back in to that area. That's why you had the Combee and Pachirisu respectively. ♥️
That Pachirisu is Alpha before completing the area

In the Kanto games Paras/Parasect are the best Grass types. They aren't part Poison unlike the rest & being part Bug is useful for Sabrina's Gym using Leech Life and Spore! Also, YAY GRUNTY BOI WE LOVE HIM AND WANT MORE REGION PLAYTHROUGHS OF HIS!!!
Ain't anything wrong with erotic feelings towards Gardevoir or other Female Pokemon.
No paras/parsect are the worst grass types in gen 1 they have 3 4x weaknesses and don't learn and good stab, also strength does more damage than leach life to psychics.
though Paras is surprisingly a good hm slave its easy to catch and learns cut and dig, so Ironically it is my most used grass type for this reason
@@stephenlewis4197 I have beaten Sabrina's entire team with a Parasect before, using the combination of Leech Life and Spore. Therefore you are highly mistaken.
@@morrigankasa570 I mean yeah but outside of Sabrina Paras Doesn't have much use. for grass types Victreebels Wrap + always crit razor leaf, and Executors Psychic typing are both extremely powerful I will admit though that it can work really well in the late game with catching mons, also to clear anything up I'm talking just rby, and not the remakes, where parasect gets far better
@@stephenlewis4197 I'm talking both RBY & Fire Red/Leaf Green myself. In RBY Parasect is better then Bulbasaur Line just cause of Typing since Psychic stuff was so potent in Gen 1. In Fire Red/Leaf Green vastly better then Bulbasaur Line not just cause of Typing but also moveset potential. In Leaf Green that was when I decimated Sabrina's Gym with a Parasect. It was the 3rd time I played Leaf Green and decided to see if Bulbasaur got better...they got only slightly better but mainly post game due to Sludge Bomb. I attempted to sweep Sabrina's Gym with my Lvl 60 Venusaur and got destroyed by it(could sweep that Gym with Charizard or Blastoise easily). Anyway ever since Gen 2 and breeding was introduced I only ever used Pokemon I captured at Lvl 6 or less(or bred/hatched) my options where very limited; Nidoking & Nidoqueen though decent Lvl being poison type wasn't a good option, I considered Pidgeot but didn't have any Super Effective move other then Thief, Fearow same issue as Pidgeot but even worse had absolutely no Super Effective move, Raticate also didn't have a Super Effective move and it's most powerful move wasn't 100% Accurate, I was left with only 2 valid options Gyarados or Parasect. Gyarados had Bite for a Super Effective move but without Flinch Luck could be destroyed due to low-ish Defenses, so that left me with Parasect because had Spore Attack and Effect Spore ability as well as Leech Life which was Super Effective against Psychic Types and healed it's user especially when combined with Leftovers adding more healing potential.
I see what you mean I've personally never played the gen 1 remakes though so all my gen 1 knowledge comes from rby where parasect isn't good

i caught a shiny pikachu the other day and that was my second time actually catching and encountering a shiny in a pokemon game. the first one was in ORAS when i tried (and succeeded) catching all of the uknown and i ran into one after having caught the letter already but it was nice anyway
