Thanks for the follow up. I think it opens that way because most people use that bag on the back with the M2 rack.

Yep, I totally agree with you. I just wish that one was specifically made for the font. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Thanks for the review. I have the same bag and yeah, those zippered side pockets are too small/tight to be of any real use.
The bag is marketed as a "trunk bag" i.e. rear mount. Which means a rider will be off the bike and at the rear so the the top is hinged at the saddle side i.e. opens away from the person which make sense. Of course, it's your bag so mount it where you like but it was designed as a "trunk" i.e. REAR bag.
If you want access to your items while on the bike i.e. stopped at a light, a handlebar bag may be a better option. I have 2 Arkel handlebar bags and they are awesome. Stopped at a light or wherever, the top just flips away from you for quick and easy access to the inside. Perfect if you want to grab a set of sun glasses or lip balm without having to fully dismount the bike.
    Cheers.

Welcome back! I use a rack time equivalent and love it (the Odin bag)

Thanks! Happy to be back. Rode the Sammamish River Trail yesterday from Marymoor to Blythe. Lovely ride.

Pricey for a seat post….Looks hood and I’m sure it’s quality made , but I think it’s overpriced
