Nice mower! I was recently looking @ the same Husqvarna, except with the 48 inch deck! However, I had my 1997 Simplicity in for repairs & was able to get it fixed, so didn’t need new lawn tractor. I only needed a 42 in h deck, however, I was going to go with the 48 in h deck as it has 4 anti-scalp wheels versus 2 on the 42 inch deck. Hope you have good luck with your new Husqvarna! It is a nice lawn tractor.👍
I just got mine a couple days ago ( 2021, TS242XD ) I will say the first thing that surprised me was how quiet it is for a 730cc V-twin. Then the next thing was the locker lol, Two things about that. For one I live on a very un-even area, so normal procedure would be to avoid driving the tractor nose first into a dip as it would usually be impossible to reverse out. However not so on the Husqvarna Ts242xd it locks immediately and just backs right on out no trouble. But. . . It also locks when you turn, so going around tight corners ( bushes, trees, neighbors dog, etc..) You have to do it carefully or the wheels will lock and you'll feel it when it does it, as well as see your grass getting flung in the air by the tires lol. ( oops) Anywho, its not a big deal these tractors just need a little more care when turning. I have to say its an awesome mower, great pairing with my industrial grade (IH) garden tractor wich is great for plowing but horrific to mow with lol So having the Husqvarna to mow is so so much nicer.
Strongly considering this lawn tractor. Have you had any issues with the locking differential tearing up your lawn and would you still recommend this tractor?
If you have kind of serious inclines to mow, think twice about buying a zero-turn. When and if those front wheels kick out, you're going for downhill ride!
Thanks for the video. I just picked mine up today. I want the Mulch kit, but I am having a little trouble finding the correct one. Do you have the part number by chance?
There are two variations of this machine. A -07 model, or -13. The 07 is standard @ $3199 msrp, the -13 CARB compliant (CA model) @ $2899 msrp. Either is available where I live. Anyone know what you’re getting for the extra $300 in the -07. I’m not able to see any differences on husqvarna’s site doing a side by side spec comparison
@@davidvanderschuur2866 that would be true. The question, why is the standard 960 43 03-07 $300 more the the CA version. What do you get for the extra $300? Usually the reverse happens, the CA certified takes more gizmos to meet CARB, thus a higher cost. Not in this case.
Dave, i live in West Michigan too, I'm looking at the same tractor and wonder if in the 2 years you have owned your tractor if you still like it? My reasoning for this model is to Kawasaki motor and fabricated deck. Did you ever get the discharge shoot size worked out? It irritates me just to look at it. Thank you for the review!
Thank you Dave. I bought mine yesterday (got $200 off) and I have a new snowblower attachment sitting in the garage to use next winter. I'm going to go without chains as the mechanics at the Walter's equipment in Byron Center told me that I'll like the traction with this machine.
I put an eye bolt in the fender of my Husqvarna then attached a short section of chain to the chute with an S hook. I can now raise that chute all the way up or lower it a bit to direct cut grass or leaves.
I'm currently on my 2nd Husqvarna. That locking differential is a game changer for inclines with wet grass. I no longer have to mow going downhill.

Congrats bud, I’ve got one on order can’t wait to try it out,, Thanks for the walk around, 🍻
No problem 👍

Hi there, thanks for sharing this video. Are you still enjoying this tractor?
Very nice, let's have a review when you get some time on her.

after one mow of my yard I did not notice any damage. but i do not make any really sharp turns.
👍
Nice mower I really like the husqvarna garden tractors. It's a toss up between one of these or a zero turn
I thought about a zero turn but this tractor is going to be plowing snow in the winter.
@@davidvanderschuur2866 that is mice to know you can plow and snowblow. I have a new ariens so I'm good with snow. Have a good weekend 👍

Sorry I do not. I had the dealer throw it in at the last second.
@@davidvanderschuur2866 thanks anyway!

I believe the CARB is just California emissions compliant.

How has the frame been holding up so far, I have read the frames on these bend easily?
I have pulled some saplings out with out any issue but no other hard work other than that.
How wide is your trailer
the trailer is 7 x 14. the actual width is about 6 1/2 feet.

I got used to the chute size. I just changed up my mowing pattern. It pushes a decent amount of snow for it's size. I don't get stuck it just stops.
Thank you, do you plow with chains? I'm going to order mine this week.
@@FadedFootstepscom I tried the rubber cross bar "chains" but they were too rough on my back. I seem to do ok with out anything.
