literally. 90% of the show is backstories and only 10% actually have talent. But a lot of that 10% aren't getting golden buzzers cuz the disabled people are using them up😢
That’s just like real life though. If you meet the bear minimum of standards, as long as you can make a good story for yourself you can be applied nearly anywhere.

On Britain’s got talent there was a one legged dancer which got a golden buzzer and got the finals. He came fourth and lost to a guy which would run around the stage and take off high visibility jackets. I am proud of the British public for defying the producers

Not understanding what is going on 🤷♀️
I still remember the old seasons when the judges were able to give constructive criticism without the audience instantly boo-ing and shutting them up. Modern seasons just feel like a talent-mill, eliminating all but 2 acts each night and jumping all the way to the finale. We don't really see performers growing over weeks and blossoming into stars, it's all just instant-entertainment at the cost of the acts and the contracts they have to sign to be on the show.
That’s sadly how it goes now, I wish they still had it like they did before. Much like everything else now, it’s all tailored to the lowest common denominator that likely won’t watch for 5 minutes without something flashy

I remember seeing somewhere that, statistically, the runner-up in talent shows ends up having a more successful career than the winner. This was caused by the fact that talent shows work like demonstrated in this video
