Crab and Cactus Combined Moqueca: A Brazilian-Inspired Fusion - Desert to Sea

    Today, we're embarking on a culinary journey from the desert to the sea. We're diving into a mouthwatering recipe of Crab & Cactus Moqueca, a fusion of flavors that will transport your taste buds. So, let's not waste any time and get right into the recipe:
    Desert to Sea Moqueca
    500 grams crab meat 🩀
    1 small chopped onion
    4 cloves chopped garlic
    1 cup chopped bell peppers
    1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes
    3 tablespoons olive oil
    1 tablespoon palm oil
    2 tablespoons white vinegar
    2 cups of chopped nopales cactus đŸŒ”
    Salt to taste
    Pepper to taste
    Cilantro to taste
    1 cup coconut milk
    How to prepare:
    Start by chopping the cactus pads into cubes (nopales) boil them in water with salt and white vinegar until they turn dark green, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. In the meantime, sauté the onion and garlic with the olive oil and palm oil for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the bell peppers and sauté for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, the cooked strained cactus, cilantro and mix well. Add the crab meat and cook for 5 minutes. Add the coconut milk and mix well. Add slices of bell peppers, tomatoes and cilantro on top. Cover the pot and let it cook for 5 minutes. Serve this dish on top of rice and enjoy.

    Moqueca de Cacto com Carne de Siri
    500 gramas de carne de siri 🩀
    1 cebola pequena picada
    4 dentes de alho picados
    1 xĂ­cara de pimentĂŁo picado
    1 1/2 xĂ­caras de tomate picado
    3 colheres de sopa de azeite
    1 colher de sopa de Ăłleo de dendĂȘ
    2 colheres de sopa de vinagre branco
    2 xĂ­caras de cactos cortados em cubos
    Sal a gosto
    Pimenta a gosto
    Coentro a gosto
    1 xĂ­cara de leite de coco
    Como preparar:
    Comece cortando os cactos em cubos (palma) ferva-os em ĂĄgua com sal e vinagre branco atĂ© ficar verde escuro, aproximadamente 15 a 20 minutos. Enquanto isso refogue a cebola e o alho com o azeite de oliva e o azeite de dendĂȘ por 3 a 5 minutos. Adicione os pimentĂ”es e refogue por 1 minuto. Adicione os tomates, o cactos cozido e escorrido, o coentro e misture bem. Acrescente a carne de siri e cozinhe por 5 minutos. Adicione o leite de coco e misture bem. Adicione fatias de pimentĂŁo, tomate e coentro por cima. Tampe a panela e deixe cozinhar por 5 minutos. Sirva este prato com
    arroz e bom apetite.
