  • Why Remco Evenepoel Will DOMINATE 2024 Tour De France?
    Remco Evenepoel wants to be seen as one of the best cyclists in the world, but to prove this point once and for all, he would have to join the most prestigious race of the year, the Tour de France. And there’s a reason why despite him not going up against the top two this past season, many believe he could dominate the 2024 edition and make it a three-way showdown. But could Remco really win the Tour de France and outperform two of the best riders the cycling world has ever seen - Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard? And if so, how is he planning to do it?

    Remco Evenepoel is doing incredible stuff on the bike, and realy no one in the world can deny that he does have a huge amount of talent. But when it comes to stage races he's not (YET) at the same level as Vingegaard, Roglic and Pogacar. Which is also the reason why he could never beat on of those three in a stage race in which neither of them did crash out of the race or get sick before the end.
    I do not say that he will never win the Tour de France, because the kid is still young and can still learn and improve. But my humble opinion is that he's not there yet when it comes to beat the other "big three".

    • @TellusJD
      @TellusJD Před 7 měsíci +1

      Roglic could have crashed or not crashed all he wanted he would have been beaten by remco either way in 2022 vuelta. With Jonas and Pogacar its another story I dont think he can get near those guys. The Giro this year also looked promising for Remco before he had to quit due to covid.

  • @robbchastain3036
    @robbchastain3036 Před 6 měsíci

    He has unfinished business in Italy, so it would make so much more sense for him to ride the '24 Giro. Yet give him credit for all this bluster over the '24 Tour. Still, should he falter and cry himself a river in France, I think he should simply be commended for stepping up to the plate and swinging for the fence. And why does he not simply say, hey, first time for this, being anywhere on the podium would be the dream, it would mean he defeated one of his three famous rivals. And Remco may very well have his way at the Tour one day--or days if he goes stage hunting next July, something he would surely do well as his rivals watch each other for the overall. And it is all fun to speculate, so I got no problem with you, Watts, saying he could dominate. And who knows, maybe this will be the first of ten dominant wins in a row, woohoo.

    I believe remco has similar climbing ability because of his weight and power but his rate of recovery is nowhere near pogacar and vingegaard level of recovery. And i feel that recovery is hard to train. You either recover quick or you dont. However i would love to see him prove this theory wrong becuase it would be great for the sport if it was a 3 horse race.

    • @indonesiaamerica7050
      @indonesiaamerica7050 Před 8 měsíci

      No. It's not "recovery" difficulty but managing his exertions in the conditions he found himself in. And that is as much on his team as it is on the protected rider. His "wolf pack" team is delusional.
      "You either recover quick or you dont."
      That's the most fallacious thing I've ever heard about human physiology. And he did in fact recover well. He just "bonked" too hard and caught himself off-guard. That means his team was not monitoring his exertions or teaching him how to do it on his own in "the wolf pack". Something like this can happen in a race like the Vuelta just from improper planning of the cog selection and team strategy through some of the tough sections of the stage.

He is a good rider, but I think he will only dominate the headlines and speculations, as he has done all this year. There is even a thread on CN titled "Remco is the new Merckx" and the title was there even 3 years ago. Since then it's somewhat tongue-in-cheek. He's the only one to boast about his "numbers", discounts eventual GT winners as "not real contenders" and drops off the radar somewhere in the middle of the race. But that doesn't matter, since he is HIM. The news cycle will go on and on and on about him. As for his chances of winning the TDF: I don't see it happening, not in 2024, not in this decade.

Remco unfortunately comes across as a selfish egoistic cyklist with absolutely no respect at all……and whom ever you are, you do need a whole teams support. He's up there with no fears, If he doesn't face the challenge then he doesn't have what it takes.

      Easy Tobias, I’m a huge Jonas Vingegaard fan. My wife is Danish. Let me be more clear. I believe Jonas is the #1 GC racer in the world. I believe he will win again in 2024 barring any crashes, illness or injury. Believe me, I was not trying to slight Jonas. 7:29 over Pogacar was a serious beat down. I have heard there is going to be a stage early on with some gravel. Not sure I like that and not sure how that will affect Jonas. I know Wout Van Art is going to love that.

      Is this Carlton Kirby speaking here? I can’t help but confused due to the way names like ineos or wont van Aert and the likes of Pogacar. I am a big fun of Carlton Kirby but when i listen to this video it sound a little off yo my hears. I apologize in advance just a big fun.

    Remco whining at the beginning of the Vuelta didn't do much to dispel the 'prima donna' notions. He needs to 'shut up and RACE'! Let your legs speak for you young man, and all will be fine; stay humble and hungry; keep worrying about "public perception" and other such nonsense, and watch your worst fears come true.

    Pretty bad take. Especially for this Channel. What additional proof do you need, that Remco is a one day racer. MAYBE one week… but he’s not winning the tour

    Don't understand the glorious pronouncements about Remco. He's not that good. He totally failed in the Vuelta. He's not up to the same level as Jonas or Tadej or many other riders. He thinks he is better than he has shown.
