that's pretty understandable since most char have noob friendly stuff that gets them easy wins in lower ranks where people don't know the basics of the game that well, sidestep, duck punishing etc. but at high up everyone knows the counters to cheap strings so your char suddenly has to take a 180 turn and forget what you used up until now and learn new less rewarding and harder to place moves.

Everybody is so salty cause they wanna feel like their character takes the most skill to play. It's okay if your character isn't "difficult" to play per se. Most simple to pick up characters have very prominent weaknesses in their gameplan which adds difficulty in winning matches against strong opponents. Whereas a character like Jin for example, will be harder to learn and execute with but has a broader set of tools that more experienced players will take advantage of.

Difficulty is such a controversial topic in Tekken cause there are so many aspects and layers to consider. Some characters are easy in scrub ranks, but very hard at high level. Some characters have hard execution, but very simple game plans, and vice versa. Most characters have at least one aspect that makes them hard to play for some people. Except Leroy

Julia's neutral stuff is pretty easy to throw out but shotguns and combos in general require lots of practice imo. And dropping combos happens more often than you think especially if you go for her bigger combos. It doesn't help that most of her better moves are highly punishable on block. Definetly not easy to pick up imo.

Nina is poke heavy. On a very low play she’s unsafe if you don’t mix-up things she gets easily readable (a lot of her strings are unsafe and useless). On top of that she has very small range and needs to be closer to the opponent. If you want to deal damage with combos you need a lot of execution (it’s not about butterflies, in T7 she doesn’t really need it). That’s what makes her hard, she’s not a smash and win character.

Its hard to point who is easier and who not.
Depends on the player lack of experience in a specific are of the game.
I mean, some characters have excelent Neutral game, but lack of wall carry/damage/ or requires good execution.
Some characters have tons of tools, (Jin for example), but no one of those tools is broken or spammable.
Some of them have good defensive tools, but have problems when the opponent doesn't attack them.
The only ones I can say are really hard are:
Bryan: for an efficient use of the character, you need to know how and when to land a Taunt, and took a lot, but really a lot of practice to properly take advantage of it.
Steve: He is a very strong character... Against half of the rooster, against the other half Steve is a victim. He has tons of horribles Match-ups
Akuma: first, required a good neutral because his movement sucks, and without any full bar is truly hard to use, then requires a very good execution to take advantage of the bars.
Lee: seems quiet simple at first till you realize he basically have no damage, you need to do some insane shit for a wall carry.
Why I didn't name the bears and Gigas, they are rare characters... Almost no one take a time to lab them, so the Match-up knowledge makes a balanced.

18:32 Tekken 7 is my first Tekken and I started with Steve. Don't be discouraged. Everyone is different of course, but it is my personal opinion that committing to a character you like is better than learning the game with a character you only somewhat vibe with or have neutral feelings about. It took me a while just to get basic things down like Psyche-Out Hook into hold back into Flicker into Duck-In but a lot of characters have that stuff. Steve's standard execution is not hard at all. Gatling Combo at the wall is, and initially getting Flicker 1, Albatross 2 is kinda difficult, but you can definitely play this character if you put the time in even as a very beginner like I was.
Most characters are hard in general, just because Tekken is hard, and more broadly, fighting games are hard. Every match you're fighting against someone who wants to win. So when someone recommends not picking a character up, think about what your goals are, and then decide. I knew Tekken 7 was going to be the game for me when I started and was watching professional tournaments, so even if I was very bad with Steve when I started, I knew that I had a lot of time with the character and I was fine spending that extra time to learn. If you want to start playing faster and not have to learn extra long movelists or characters with lots of Stances/Transitions/Cancels, maybe some characters really aren't for you, but if you don't think any of the other characters are cool, and the technical character seems cool, the "Harder to learn" character might be what saves you from dropping the game. I recommend Steve as a first pick. 👍

Another thing that has become harder to control are her stances, before you could just go for an easy 50/50 after her i10 punish (122) but now you have to finish the low string, something that is extremely risky and gives no oki (you reset the neutral after the low), and she's really linear too. For those reasons, mantaining pressure is a lot harder
her demo-men requires a really clean hit too, not only it's shorter but your opponent must be in axis or it will not connect. Her 50/50 game has become a lot weaker. If you want real, chunky 50/50s you have to commit to the double stances, something that it's risky and extremely reactable (but most people doesnt have the experience against the character to react to that, i agree).
I dont think she's hard but she's not "leroy-fahkumram" level of easy now that they nerfed her

    • @Darrihen
      @Darrihen Před rokem +1

I think she is not that easy, since she enters her stances without any chance of cansel. If is normal hit the opponent still have option to answer. So, personally I dont recomend Lidia to new players.

"(but most people doesnt have the experience against the character to react to that, i agree)" most people don't have to react to the stances because they're mashing buttons anyway, it's literally impossible to get use out of her double stances in neutral, you'll just get jabbed or worse, launched out of it

Talking from Experience, I have played a LOT with Ling. The norm of her not teaching you Tekken is wrong. I have learned a ton with her how to get off ground and doing set ups with other characters. There were many scenarios where I have seen a set up for the first time from my opponent, but didn't fell for it since I have seen such a maneuver through playing Ling. I think every single character in Tekken generally teaches you a solid part of fundamentals. As you said, Eddy needs good spacing to be optimized, when the norm is Eddy will not teach you fundamentals. Imo the concept is how far will the character take you in terms of fundamentals. I have learned the most playing Master Raven, especially when comes to SS, whiff punish, masking your slower moves with movement and poking.
Another thing when comes to Yoshi, he is crazy on paper. But, when you actually play Yoshi, yes the flash should help you escape any pressure situation when you have the frames for it. BUT, how janky is the flash? In a situation where back at wall and Hei does f4 OB into df1,2, your flash completely whiffs at range 0 and you will lose the round for it. There are many situations like this where you have a clean read with flash and you still get hit. Know that it is his most valuable tool that is janky.

As a Geese main, it’s easy to say that he’s pretty easy BUT, he’s not that versatile. In a sense that his moves are pretty basic but that ‘basicness’ was exchanged with his difficulty. Once you get a hold of his moves, you can make your own combos.

My honest review for Lili as a Lili main. Lili is indeed very easy to play in Tekken: DR and Tekken 6 since her movelist are easy to remember. And her damage is also decent and powerful at the same time, may depend on what move you use. But starting since Tekken 7 she is slowly starting to get hard to use. The reason for that is that her frame disadvantages for almost all moves are kinda bad while her best and quickest moves have low damages. And if you wanna get the best out of her combo damage, you have to do this thing called "Dew Glide Cancel" which makes me feel absolutely worst everytime I fail to do it. Also in higher ranks you need to learn how to do dew glide cancel in order to make up for her frame disadvantages otherwise you'll get absolutely punished. So to summarized my review, her difficulty is about in between easy and medium. Easy enough in low rank fights, but starts to get harder as you learn tricks with her move (like dew glide cancel).

Yeah I would say its a good character to learn the game, you can easily learn punishes and basic combos and you are good to go online. As you improve you can learn her harder stuff which is not required to win games. Its mostly about sidestep and punish or spacing and couter hits. I would recommend 10/10

At the end of the day, mastering anyone of these characters takes time and dedication, and even with your videos help I couldnt decide which character would be easy for me to play at all levels.
So I am gonna go with one of the characters I loved the most in T7, Paul/Law.
Also I dont get it, they should bring GON from T3 or ALEX from TT1 back. I loved/hated those characters at the same time, it was fun using them, but when somebody else used them, it got ugly for me.

Its not something you realize how big of an issue it is until you know someone who has the condition and all of the sudden every single time it happens you become aware of it. Often times its really just not needed to. Like take this video and the start I complained about. Why are we flashing here? What's it for? I don't feel like it ads anything valueable or that can't be done differently. Hell devs are starting to finally catch on too where a handful of games that use flashbangs for instance have an option to black out your screen instead of flashing white. Its not just epileptics either. Why would you want to get flashbanged in like a dimly lit or dark room if you're playing late at night? That ain't good for your eyes or your head lol. Migraines can be a real problem. Same with motion sickness. Just something people need to become more aware of because we won't lose anything if we just do it differently

I played Jin and only jin and I'm not good with the character(but I know some guys who plays well with him) as I'm not being able to do electrics and parry
which are the best tools in his arsenal. But to say that he is easiest of all the mishimas I just can't agree to that
    statement whatsoever because:
    1) He has the most range problems [not even in mishimas but in general as well] as his counter hits other than F4 ( you have to master ZEN cancel as well in order to punish completely ) are not that great according to me if you can't perform electrics which again are not easy to master.
    2) His low hellsweep combo is not that damaging(pretty avg.) and also pretty slow in compares to heihachi, kazuya and devil jin and hence if gets blocked, highly punishable.
    3) His parry are not that easy to master although has the 2nd best parry after leroy in tekken 7 (acc. to me 😅)but still other than strings you have to
guess what move will the other character gonna perform.
    4) He has a lot of util but that what makes him hard as well, don't you think we can use it as a counter-statement because you
have to know in which situation you have to do what specific thing. For example: Its easier to buy an Icecream from the shop which has
only 3 flavors instead of other one which has 50.
    5) And also the winrate of an average jin is pretty low, less than 10% of Jin are at higher ranks (source: some random guy on youtube which has over 400k subs 😅) because they just won't be able to master this hard character. I mean if these statistics don't make him hard then what will.
This just not me saying any jin main will say the same thing and that that he is not easy in any rank.
Although I don't know how overrratingly difficult the internet makes him but he's pretty difficult and not easyy.

She has way too many holes in her strings, easy to sidestep, react to on block, etc. You do have to learn the fundamentals with Anna because she's such a predictable character because she doesn't have many strings that leave her plus. So you definitely have to know the other characters, know how to sidestep, proper spacing, and how to consistently maximize her damage output. Because her 50/50's won't save you half the time. It's rare that I see high level Jins in ranked. He is a very high risk-high reward character. His forward 4 is one of the only ranged attack he has, and his parries are high risk and have to be timed perfectly. Most jin players I run into become a punching bag in no time. I do myself sometimes. You definitely want to learn how to utilize his wave dash, pokes, mix ups, electrics, and good feints. High respect to those that do know how to use him.
