- When the news that Michael Voris was forced to resign from militant broke last week I made a short video announcing the event. But I had always planned to do a longer video giving my thoughts on Church militant and Michael Voris overall. The good, the bad and the ugly.
First a little background on myself and what church militant did for me.
Michael Voris was instrumental in me turning back to Catholicism after I left my parents for the Army. They converted to Evangelicalism when I was about 10, and so did me and my siblings because they basically made us. But when I left my parents I had big questions Protestantism couldn’t answer, and I felt a strong pull on my soul back to Catholicism. The Catholic Church as a child felt holy in a way I can’t explain, whereas Protestant churches felt plastic to me. Michael Voris and CM equipped me with a ton of knowledge and I returned to the faith entirely, taking St. Ignatius of Loyala as a patron saint, who fought against heresy. So no matter what Michael did, God used him to help me and obviously many many others. So let’s pray for him, that our prayers may bless him as he once blessed us, being used by God. May God heal him and give him a massive infusion of
Grace such that the temptations that ensnare him have little to no sway anymore.

I've learned recently that people struggling with SSA (same sex attraction) should not be in a leadership role public or otherwise. The condition is rooted in a deep seated psychological wound that needs a lot of care and attention. It's easy to get caught up in being able to be so public these days with social media but I don't see it as a good thing but rather something to be very careful about. God bless~

A Christian Church or any institution claiming to be Christian is a sham _unless_ it can produce letters of recommendation from the poor and homeless.

My Best wishes for Michael, I understand people have vices, and that they are in the process of overcoming it, I'll keep him in my mind in my prayers.
I too pray for Michael, we all are sinners and we can be forgiven through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. May he find his way back, in the meantime I will contiue to pray for him and all our Priests.

In some ways this reminds me of fr.Corapi who evidently was living a double life also. He too did a lot of good. I think that if you’re Catholic and doing public ministry the devil just loves to bring you down. I was a premium member but not now. I’ll pray for Michael but the last few months haven’t been watching much. When I did, Michael appeared haggard and was seeming to age rapidly. I’m sure that the guilt he was carrying showed in that way. He should never go back into public ministry, but I’ll bet he’ll try it again.
It wasn't that long after Milo Ynopolis worked at CM with Michael Voris that Michael was exposed.

This reminds me of the Fr Corapi scandal. Fr Corapi portrayed himself as untouchable, a knight in shining armour, until the putrid skeletons started coming out from his closet. It seems Michael has fallen into a similar ditch. I feel sorry for the employees and subscribers who have been let down.
Was Father Corapi even really guilty of all that stuff? I believe he was wrongly accused. His only problem was pride starting to get to his heart. But i don't think he did the other stuff.

Corapi's religious congregation. In that statement, Sheehan stated that, after SOLT's own investigation, Fr. Corapi was found to have fallen into acts contrary to chastity with women, as well as other serious misbehavior. This was so sad to hear, as Fr. Corapi had been a hero to many, including myself (he helped lead me to the priesthood by his preaching). Let's pray for him.

Thanks for making this video. I used to be subscriber, but CM's relentless attacks on SSPX caused me to cancel. That was nearly 10 years ago. I never followed them since then. Then came the recent revelations. Shocking but not shocking. I wish Michael and Mrs. Niles well.

My view of Michael's teachings is still not affected. What he taught are not depended on his conduct.
Statements that is true or false is not depended on the person saying it. What is true will remain true even if it were spoken by a fool.

Voris is not perfect, sure. For one thing I didn’t agree with his attacks on the SSPX but let’s face it he also called out awful things happening that very few had the courage to do. He deserves our prayers 🙏

Voris became excessively toxic and schismatic. And yeah, he was quick to point out others indiscretions, but for himself, he would expect others to cover up his wrongs. If anything, he became a vector for Catholics to apostatize into other faiths, sects, and denominations, than to keep them in the Church.
Amen! I stopped watching CM about two years ago because of the relentless, toxic negativity. For an organization that claims the Catholic Church is “the one true Church,” virtually every Vortex, news report, and “exposé” seemed to prove the opposite! Rather than confirming me in the Faith, CM was turning me away from it.
What did he say about the Church that was not true? Regardless of what he did in his personal life, was what he was saying about the Church true or not? Because THAT is all that matters!
@@igorest2619 It's not about whether or not what he said was true, it's that he focused so much on he gay clergy, bringing and highlighting scandal in the church, and he himself was guilty of the same things he pointed out in others. So many Catholics have become schismatics and even left for other denominations and use his videos as an example to leave the church.

Why focus on Voris? This was NEVER about "Voris!" The focus should be on the Church and correcting the problems in the Church, not about Voris or what he did. In all essence, Voris is irrelevant, all that matters is the Church; he has always said that.
The entire apostolate has always been about the Church, never about Voris. To blame CM for what Voris did in his private life is absurd. Either the things Voris said and did in the apostolate were 100% accurate or they were not. As the saying goes.... "You don't throw the baby out with the bath water!"
@@randolph1917 you're simply wrong, in a big way; it is 100% about the truth and nothing more. Either what Voris has exposed is true or it is not; his personal life is irrelevant to the facts. Voris exposed a lot of dirt that has been a major problem in the Church - especially the homo-pedophiles - and few people want to acknowledge the problem they have been for the Church.
If anybody leaves the Church because of what Voris has exposed, they were never really Catholic to begin with, they were one of those, "I'm Catholic but...." Which means they are not Catholic at all!
My husband and I had almost the same experience as you. It followed the same arc.
His father Russ passed away in January 2018. Can't help wondering if things started to unravel after that. I also remember reading somewhere that another guy had moved in with Michael. Is it possible the relationship was emotionally enmeshed but physivally chaste?
Would you say that in the case of a heterosexual couple? Michael admitted to a past homosexual lifestyle, so at the very least such a step would be as imprudent as heterosexual cohabitation.

It's tempting to judge another's sins - but, I haven't perfected my grace with Christ just yet, so I try my best to refrain. Michael lifted many of us to a new level in our faith before he fell. Thus, I've concluded that the good outweighed the bad, and like you, I still see much value in the early lessons he taught. I found myself conflicted towards the end because it was so negative. But, his apologetics boot camp DVD's are still great resource and "Where did the Bible come from?" is an excellent resource. And after his fall, I found other sources - like your channel. I don't agree with all of your content - but I tune in for sure and I've learned much from you. Thank you.
They were told to drop the Catholic from their name. It was the Bishop in South Bend that told them to drop it as they weren't sanctioned by a Bishop or something.
Not true, it was the ultra liberal Bishop of Detroit that said it and he had absolutely no authority to say it. They never had to change their name, there was nothing that compelled them to do it - other than "charity."

I am a member of the SSPX I for one stop watching the vortex a while back. I found that it was like you said very toxic that it was. And I don’t plan on supporting them.

From UK we are all sinners with different things we have weak moments time from time ,I use to watch Cm + and I liked listening to mv learning from another Catholic about the Catholic faith,it's sad when something like this happens but he needs our prayers instead of being gossiping about him or being nasty may God guide Michael voris and forgive him ,God bless
yes but slipping up occasionally and privately and trying hard to be right is different than being an active predator. We have to expose predators in our community to protect the vulnerable.

@@Patrick-ro4kf We are talking about 2 separate things. Obviously forgive and don't condemn. But if there's a serial predator in our neighborhood or schools, community etc. They must be exposed. You can still forgive someone and not give them money to fund their sin and not let your family be exposed to potentially fall prey. If there is a bad person at your kids' school and they confess to God would you rather know about it for safety or just be fine not knowing letting it be covered up and putting your kids in harms way?

The nature of this lifestyle is inherently predatory since it requires 2 or more people and they can't reproduce naturally, it requires converting someone to their lifestyle. And the vast majority of them become this way because they were victims as children. And that is why in all christian nations it was illegal until very modern times.

Catholic YT has a high cringe factor. Many of us search the internet for messages we don’t get in our church. I have led a sinful life, but tried to raise my children without sin. Yes, it’s hypocritical, and I’ve gone through a long period of examination of conscience and repentance. That said, Michael Voris’ old videos were relevant and something that resonated with me. I have seen many “faithful” people lose their faith, and one can never know why. Remember, Jesus hung out with ne’er-do-wells, not the high and mighty. .

Caution with opinions over fallen people. Of course we ought to look for the truth, but let’s be careful not to commit the same thing Michael is criticized for, judging hard. Let’s see the pertaining authorities do the proper investigations and justice prevails. We all know our choices good or bad have consequences and we need to assume them. Being a public figures brings enemies, unfortunately, just don’t forget that before getting into that arena.

Yes, it is well known. Sometimes when someone is a popular public figure, it goes to their head. Given his troubled background, he needs counseling and filters on his phone to help keep him away from dating and porn sites. Investigating church corruption probably reminded him of his base desires!

You hit the nail on the head. I was a supporter for about 2 years. I began seeing what you saw and pulled the plug. In particular, I recall asking a challenging question one day regarding a Vortex presentation. Voris lit into me like I was a demon, censored me and blocked me from the DISQUS forum. Sorry to say, I wasn't surprised by his actions. The day I pulled my donation was after Voris chased down a Bishop in an airport... shoving a mic and camera in his face. Whether the Bishop was right or wrong, he didn't deserve such treatment and public humility.

The Alphabet Cult is reckless by nature - physically reckless, pathologically selfish, and very expensive to maintain - hence Voris' giving himself a raise whilst leaving his staff on starvation wages (if that is to be believed). I noticed the continuous appeals for money and plugging Premium subscriptions at every opportunity.
I've known people who have been in this cult, and few have been so frank in telling it like it truly is; it is an addiction. Learning about all this comes from living in a very liberal UK city and having the unfortunate experience of being verbally abused by a few of them - and, no, I am not in that sick and twisted cult!
If Voris was a gambling addict, alcoholic, porn or drug addict and not relapsing hard into the Alphabet Cult, we would say he had fallen off the wagon.
Yes, pray for him to restore the practice of his Faith - and not neglect the regular recitation of the Holy Rosary. Again.

PS: Church Militant changed its name because the Archdiocese of Detroit wanted the previous name 'Real Catholic' dropped, and Voris complied with their request.

I reverted to the Church knowing about the drama, but I left the ever shifting modernist church and only came back when I saw there was a traditional element that stood on solid logic & virtue. I feel like we need to jump in and pull like it's a tug of war as best (smart, not crazy) as we can.

Yeah that's something I didn't understand. I'd see from church militant the most Pope bashing and sarcasm, then I'd turn and see a video from them on how awful the SSPX is. It didn't make sense.

I bumped into CM before and I thought some of the content made sense but many other times it was unsettling and toxically disturbing. I stopped watching and now I’m not surprised to see his fall.
I really enjoyed your video about how you became catholic. But I am just a tad disappointed in this video.
I do not believe that because a person fell back into their sin means there is not another redemption story for them. I don't even know if I could go far enough to say "he should never go back to church militant". I understand it would be hard to convince others you have changed afterwards, and doesnt Paul warn us that our "ministry" will be diminished? I know from my own life that satan can smoke up an area so slightly at a time until the frog won't jump out of the water because it doesn't even know how hot the temperature has gotten. I do not believe we should judge Michael. Accept to move on and to continue to pray for him and the Lord could use him again to help a lot of people to turn back & trust in the Lord and not despair over their return to sin. And there really is a despair that attacks you for however long it takes, if you are determined enough to get out of that pit and turn back to the Lord. Remember the prodigal son? He was a son of the wealthy land owner, living in his fathers house when he decided to take his inheritance & leave. Yet, after his great sin and decision to leave the presence of his Father, the Father would still go and watch for him & "when he saw him he (the son) was yet very far off and The Father ran TO him". The Father walked the remainder of the way with the errant son. The thought was always in My mind that when the son returned, that was his first conversion, his first sin, he didnt know better and thats why The Father welcomed him back. But, recently, in my old age, I realized that the son was with the Father originally; he ate, lived, slept and grew up (was taught) with the Father and then left, so there was still hope for me to come home to full restoration. So it must be true for anyone else that had a full communion with The Lord and fell, mightily. He is still looking for us, & if He sees us, yet while we are still far off, He will run and put His cloak over us again, shod our feet again, and put a Crown on us, again..
David Gordon & Christine Niles made it clear that Simon needs to be the next to be fired. Simon's coverup was the reason for Niles' resignation.
This is sad. As a practicing Roman Catholic I will pray for Michael Voris and for him to repent and follow the path of Jesus Christ, Mother Mary and the Holy Roman Catholic Church. 🙏

I hope Michael's fall was recent and not longtime double habit...where was his priestly mentor?? or did he hide this ???
