    11:45 Notice that the homelessness in the "previous" section has gone down to -1, it was -2, so in the past few months the older of the 2 homeless issues has dropped off.
    In answer to your marketplace needs for a Burgage Plot. The plots closest to the market get resupplied first, so a Burgage halfway across the region, by the mining pit, will be the last to be supplied. The multiple Burgage Plots by the market have to get their supplies before it's allowed to supply to the more distant one. If you use the premise of say, post delivery, and the market is the post office, and you have 1 postman, the post is going to get to the houses in town because they're all downtown near the post office. The postman has to make a long trip out to make that one delivery to the mining pit house. But in the meantime, one of the places in town needs another delivery, by proximity, the delivery is taken to the house in town, further delaying the delivery to that one remote location. It will get its delivery, but it will take much longer.
    15:15-15:40 Thank you for allowing that transition to pass on screen. It's remarkable the detail put into the slow "accumulation" of snow.
    16:15-16:21 I don't think you'll get wealth from the carrots (nor the eggs from an expansion chicken coop, etc) These are the people's gardens or animals, and they likely sell them at the market, which improves your food stall variety, thus happiness/approval, but that money isn't paid to you because you have no taxation or tithes in place. If you can upgrade your Burgage Plots to Level 2, they will start producing 1 wealth per family living in the upgraded burgage. But upgrading them also means the demands to keep the household happy will go up. I think these expansions add food variety and possibly materials that other buildings can use (such as hides from goats, which would in turn be used at the tannery, during the demo, I've read these expansions didn't actually do anything, not sure if they currently do)
    16:54 by pausing the forager's hut, you may have just closed their stall at the market, which is going to mean your market will no longer have its food stall variety bonus.
    21:10-21:14 You have to recognize the difference between "Family Members" vs "Family" When a family joins, it's a new work group. When a family member joins, it increases the number of workers in a specific, already existing, group.
    You can order another ox at the structure that is Jacob's home when he's not working (I've forgotten the name of it) but it will cost you regional wealth (gold) shortly after you order it, a trader will come and deliver it to where it was ordered from. You can also build additional structures to tie the ox to, which will mean when someone hauls, using the ox, they can take him to the nearest drop off instead of having to return him to the one building you started with.
    38:24-38:26 your regional wealth (gold) is 67, so your trade route has already made some money it would appear. You are down to 58 planks from the 120 you had, and you just used some planks to start building the church, so It would appear a number of your planks left when you set your surplus, and some money has already beep paid to you, then your expenditure on the church reduced your surplus below your set number.
    By forcing early harvest, I think you're hurting yourself. The next year you have set to fallow (improve the soil, do not plant crops) and you won't get the full 41 wheat harvest, because the yield is based on letting the crops grow to maturity.

  • @XenosX4
    @XenosX4 Před měsícem +72

    Biffa, when you destroyed the road to make space for the Church ( 36:38 ) you destroyed the *whole* entire road which connected all the residential buildings in the town. Your residents arent gonna like that :(

    You can sow wheat in the autumn (winter wheat). It will germinate before winter when it gets too colds then lie dormant until spring when it will start growing again. Winter wheat normally is harvested before Spring wheat as it starts growing before the spring wheat is planted.

  • @FrankieBoiledEgg
    @FrankieBoiledEgg Před měsícem +27

    I'm screaming at my screen for the early harvest of the wheat. You're not going to get the 4o-ish you're seeing in the building tab because it hasn't yet grown. Your farmers didn't run out of time during the planting season and similar to real life cereal crops are planted before winter and germinate in the spring. Let it growww let it growwww don't early harvest anymoreeeee

    • @Arthaius
      @Arthaius Před 9 dny

      - It probably wouldn't hurt for him to add a couple extra farmers, I mean most of the jobs have a hard limit of around 3 workers, the farm house has 8 so.. I feel like at least one or two more would be a good choice. Could also add in another field or two, my opinion, in order to make a decent amount of bread you need a fair amount of flour, and to make that fair amount of flour, I think you would need a hefty amount of wheat grain. that one field probably won't yield enough grain for much more than maybe a dozen or so worth of bread. I don't have the game so this is just speculation, but, logically it makes sense to have larger fields and more farmers, at least with grain - he could also of course try to grow other crops like some form of vegetables if it is available, much higher yield I think for food, and definitely some flax for cloth to work towards clothing. Might not be a bad idea to set up some sheep farms for wool while he's at it.

  • @EverShy_
    @EverShy_ Před měsícem +35

    Unless it says "route required" in the trade tab of the trading post, you do not need to establish a route. Just set whatever you want to trade to import or export.
    Also, you didn't build a second storehouse near the industrial area (iron, stone).

  • @ellnic
    @ellnic Před měsícem +48

    You don't need to open trade routs to trade some items, that just sets up a dedicated rout or unlocks unavailable that need a rout items. Just set to export and set your reserve limit and the trader will take excess to fill the trading post and as merchants pass they will buy various amounts of various items that you have sored there so for the planks, you didn't need to buy the route. Same with Import, you don't need buy a route just select import (unless it specifically says Route required) and the amount you want sored in your village and the trader will buy off traveling merchants as they pass through until you have reached your goal limit.

  • @tadhgmurphy8859
    @tadhgmurphy8859 Před měsícem +8

    Looking great, just make sure to now buy some horses and oxen so you can be better able to move heavy items around and to also speed up farming now that you have the money coming in through trade. Then be sure to connect the other two church connections with roads and give the other part of your village a well as well, so they don't have to traval as far for water if possible, might be no harm in giving them a market and more storage areas as well, again just to reduce travel - and make sure to give your majestic, bearded Lord a nice manor house so he can enjoy his sips of tea and watch over his people

    I believe Zweiau is a german/austrian? village name that you would pronounce like ts (tsunami) + wye (Y) + ow (owl minus the l) = tswyeow, historically you could name a village which is near two (2 = "zwei") small streams or rivers in a wet sometimes flooded region which is an "Au" as "Zweiau"

    The village Zweiau is roughly pronounced tzvai-au. It means roughly second(zwei=two) wetland in German. But Au is an old word with many meanings. Maybe it has an old English cognate.

    • @tommeakin1732
      @tommeakin1732 Před měsícem +1

      Bit of an English nerd here: The proto-Germanic root of "au" would be something like *ahwo (“water; stream"), which is the same root as English "ey" ("A small island formed by the buildup of silt or gravel at the meeting of two rivers or streams"), and English place names ending in "-ey" and I believe "-y" are linked to that. Also the "is" in "island" (the "s" was added needlessly, recently, and shouldn't even be there) is the from the same root. It pretty much means "waterland".
      Words are weird but cool👏

    Harvesting will only happen in the Late Summer/Early Autumn but its a three month window. An early harvest won't harvest before a crop is ready, just before its at maximum yield. That's how crops grow, you plant in the winter of the year before you want to harvest, harvest 3rd quarter of the next year. As you only have one field however, you'll need to make sure you rotate crops & leave it fallow a year, so ideally you need 3 fields if you have the area for it.

    I’ve not watched the latest video yet, but a few notes for Biffa:
    -The housing in the top left: if your housing says (12, +2), it means you have 12 current spaces, and 2 in your construction queue being built / upgraded
    -Building cost, if the resource quantity is white, you have enough. If it’s red, you don’t have enough yet. 18:50 for the church, you already had enough stone to build it

    Early harvest was a bad idea. There won't be time for another crop this year. Also I believe you turned your plank making off last winter and now you sold all your excess, if you want money you should assign a person.

    It is interesting that you can play the game in completely different ways, I watched Spiffing Brit's video and he played it very different - and noted Eggs are key! And also over powered lol - looks like a great game, I will be picking it up :)

    on behalf of the tea consumption ministry i would like to point out a problem with autosave:
    it goes to fast, leading to a drastic decrease of tea sips, decreasing our bottomline , this is unacceptable!

    Biffa - Just want to let you know sir that I'm enjoying this series of videos and I find the entire game very interesting. Also wanna let you know that I'm glad that your health is doing much better since your family truly loves you and need you and the rest the world needs you as well.
    By the way, you might wanna look into why you're playing the game to see if any of the tools or other resources that you're making can use the help to increase The productivity of your citizens. In addition, I'm not sure but I am willing to bet the stone that you're having cut out of the ground might be able to use to upgrade to roadways and you might want to test that as well.
