Awesome as usual, on the subject of defending against direct passing, would be cool to see one on defending diagonals too (I hate them when I play fullback). Would be cool to see more of these sorts of videos generally anyway, as well as the usual match breakdown content. The defending the box masterclass was brilliant.

How about if you have a back 3 or 5? does a wingback have to tuck in to make it a 4 like here?

Depends on what phase really, long ball while in defensive block it would be. On the counter the same 1 duels and the rest cover should still be true, unless to get into the duel you have to blaze dangerously out of position obviously

The antithesis to this analysis is that you need a quality defender who puts off the opposite player or wins the ball. Look at Lovren last year against spurs at Wembley or against man utd at old Trafford. That is important. Chiellini and bonucci are gr8 but you need other imposing centrehalfs
