Whenever someone says Ramos is overrated I know damn well that they never watch him live. The guy is the main reason why Real won the league and they are in the final. A beast in the back and a threat in the front.
Ramos is not 100% perfect (Who is?) but he is a hell of a center back, a great captain, a leader, and he is crucial in Real Madrid team

Mohamed Harajli The owner of the channel probably cannot be biased. Still, Boateng, Pique, Bonucci, Chiellini, Koscielny are as good defensively(Ramos a little more reckless). Attacking wise, Ramos is the best. Overall, he was the best defender 2016/2017!(I don't consider Marcelo a defender LOL! He's just a winger sliding in to defend.)
@@sandesh1036 Bonucci and Chellini themselves admit Ramos is the best defender in the world. Moreover, Suarez, Aguero, Dzeko qnd Muller also says he is the toughest defender they have ever faced. Though both Chellini and Bonucci are beast as well. But Ramos is undisputed king of this decade. He is Maldini of this generation.

Varane isn't aggressive but he is strong, tall, a good header man, long legs and is one of the fastest player in Real Madrid.

Try to act agressively but keep thinking and reading the attackers' minds , it's a key fact to be agressive but being too much of it without playing wise can make things worse
Soroush Shah exactly what i think. I did it last game and their attackers got real mad because i was always om him when the ball was going to him and when he tries to go around me i just read him and got the ball it was really fun and we won

Watching this video makes me realize how freaking tough Ramos is
Ramos : more agressive on air and ground play - better in physical challenges - ball control and passing.
Varane: faster - better in positioning and intercepting pass lanes - 1-on-1 against skillful players.
I think Varance is not physically weak, he just needs to more agressive and not to hesitate to commit fouls. He in fact has some classic defender qualities better than Ramos(1 on 1 , anticipation..) though Ramos is obviously more complete player.

I don't agree with the skillful players piece, Ramos' aggression usually leads to him winning vs skillful players.
Could you focus on defensive midfielders in any future videos? Kante, Busquets, old Toure and Vieira clips? I would really love to learn their positioning, I'm transitioning from an attacking midfield role into a defensive midfield role but I need to figure out where I should be and when. The Casemiro piece helped a lot.

Agreed. Even Ramos has always been aggressive, in his recent years, he managed to have more productive aggression.
I meant to emphasize the 1 on 1 situations particularly. Against great dribblers , e.g. Messi, Iniesta..etc, Varance is more capable of making elegant gain of the ball. It's a trait of classic CBs that most of modern days CBs lack. Look at Nesta,Maldini,Cannavaro vs Terry, Pique,Ramos. Most of the managers now are ready to compromise some classic defending quality for a defender who helps the team more in ball control, speed, passing...etc
Yes Ramos is more aggressive because of his awesome tactical awareness which is a deciding factor on where and when to tackle or intercept

DJ Snape Wow! You must've been really impressed with Nacho this season. I was too but I still think Varane is the better CB(plus he's young). Nacho is a versatile player so I think it will be hard for him to cement a particular place in the starting XI, though will be indespensable season long. He's 7.8/10 in every position along the back line(10 being Maldini, haha!)

That's why they work so well together. By having 2 overly aggressive defenders, or 2 non-aggressive defenders, the balance wouldn't be there causing issues. The fact that they have one of each type, allows for better cover and decision making as there will always be one pressing and one covering.

Great Job by analyzing them! Ramos is way more than most of the people think and you clearly showed that in your video! But for me one of the keys for RM success is definitely Casemiro! He often doesn't allow the opponents to get even close to RMs Box and is working like a beast... and as you sad he's kind of a third CB

Definitely oh and one more thing, your timing of subtitles for this video was outstanding, it was almost perfect. Whenever there is one box of text, you can be quick, since point of focus is at one place, but if there are multiple boxes of text, giving an extra couple of secs never hurt considering that eyes get confused from where to begin, and then changing the point of focus eats up some time. so for simple testimonials like you shown that ramos can be aggressive and then showing the claims to back it? was absolutely perfectly timed but at times when there were like 3 boxes giving a sec or 2 extra can be awesome. now not gonna eat much of your time, but just one last question.

People forget Varane is still young, he's not the complete package yet. Ramos is and has been for years. Don't underestimate the work Varane is doing tracking runs and covering the gaps too. That kind of defending often shuts down attacking plays before they happen. Varane actually makes it easier for Ramos in the duel by reducing the number of good options the ball carrier has because he is tracking the runs. Even if Ramos doesn't win the duel, the ball carrier is often forced to pass backwards and the runner is left out of position as Varane comes back to cover the gap.
