    From The Publisher: Pick the card that gets your pawns out of the starting area, and then get ready to challenge your opponents in this game of sweet revenge. This Sorry game includes special fire and ice power-up tokens that give your pawns more powers against other players.
    The Ice token freezes a pawn in place and doesn't allow you to move it until the ice token is moved to another player's pawn.
    The Fire token lets you move much more quickly around the board.
    Other differences from original Sorry!:
    1) A player can move a pawn out of the Start space with any number card except 4 (in the original game, only 1, 2, and Sorry cards could be used to leave the Start space). Players also only have 3 pawns instead of 4 like in the original Sorry!
    3) The 2 card no longer entitles the player to draw another card (instead they get to place the "Fire" token).
    4) The Sorry card can be used to advance 4 spaces when no pawn can be bumped (either player drawing Sorry has no pawns in Home, or there are no opponent pawns on the main track).
    Contents: gameboard, 12 Sorry! Pawns, 44 cards, 2 power-up tokens and instructions.

    Wow finally someone who can explain the game😂😂 my dad got the board game so that we have something to do during the hurricane and we all didn't know how to play it so my sister was like "READ THE INSTRUCTIONS" and I'm like "GIRL NO ONE HAS TIME FOR THAT LEMME GO ON CZcams"

  • @The_Catalyzt
    @The_Catalyzt Před 6 lety +5

    How we nerfed the tokens is really simple...first and foremost the instructions that come with the game are unclear or ambiguous about what happens in certain scenarios, and in those cases we took liberties and made our own house rules, especially with these fire and ice tokens.
    So how we interpreted the rules and how we play is we simply let the tokens replace eachother. Stuck in place with an ice token? If you draw a move fire token, you can, if you so choose, replace the ice token on your piece with the fire token you just drew. The ice token goes back in the middle.
    Vice versa with the fire token....if you draw an ice token you may replace your opponent's fire token if you choose. That player then becomes stuck and the fire token goes back in the middle.
    This keeps the game moving and makes sure that no one player stays too powerful or weak for too long.

    Hey... Good review and explanation. The directions that came with the game, regarding the fire and ice were hard to understand - thanks for clearing some of it up. Would love it if you would review a few of our funny kids videos and tell us what you think? : )

  • @RickRaptor105
    @RickRaptor105 Před 4 lety

    The movement of that Fire token is so ridiculously powerful, I expected that, if you make it to your home with the Fire token, it "burns down" your home and forces you to move any pawns that were already in the home out onto the start again. So it'd be a crazy "high risk, high reward" feature that could actually end up punishing you. But I think this version would be too frustrating for kids.

    I love Sorry. It's in my collection now. On this updated version I completely agree with everything you said about the new additions to this classic, even though I haven't played it. Side note, I really like the boards new design.

  • @kannansr

    And, how do you handle these two situations
    1. Your two pawns are home and one is on the track. you pick a fire card but, you cannot move two forward since there is an opponent's iced pawn on that square. so, do you forfeit your turn or just use the fire up and ignore moving forward
    2. when you have fire up, can you CHOOSE to jump to the nearest fire on EVERY turn or you have to mandatorily jump (unless there is an iced pawn on a fire square) already) EVERY turn?

    Helpful than the actual instructions in the game. But my question is how do you know which pawn to move.
    Thanks for the information

      As long as a piece is out of your home and it can move the full number of spaces it can move.
      So if you have all your pieces out you can pick.

  • @kannansr
    @kannansr Před 7 lety

    Yes, the fire and ice power ups are wierd. And, the instructions aren't good enough. Your video gave some clarity. I have a few questions though
    1. If I first pick a ice card and freeze an opponent, how does the game work in the following scenarios
    a. I pick the second ice card
    b. The opponent picks the second ice card
    c. can I freeze the opponent pawn with fire power up
    2. After the opponent reaches home with a fire up, does the fire token come to the center and other players can use it to for rest of the game?
    3. If the pawn with fire up power of the opponent is in his safety zone and I pick fire card, do I get the fire power up?
    4. should the home be counted separately or the last point to reach is the pentagon shape just before home?
    5. suppose I pick a fire card, then I pick the pawn on which I need the fire power-up. same question as above, what happens if
    a. an opponent picks the next fire card
    b. if I pick the next fire card

    • @BowersGameCorner
      @BowersGameCorner  Před 7 lety

      a. Ice still has to move, but you decide where else
      b. They have to move the ice to any where else
      c. Yes
      2. Ya, the fire token is still fair game for everyone
      3. Yes
      4. I count the home as a spot
      5. Same answers as 1

    • @kannansr
      @kannansr Před 7 lety +1

      Bower's Game Corner Thanks for the reply. On the last question regarding the fire card, if the opponent picks the next fire card, he or she will definitely move because it gives them super power. However, if the player with fire up picks another fire card, I think it is their choice to move it or not since the rules say "MAY move the fire from its cur
      rent location." I read it somewhere and I thought it made sense. For the ice card, the rules say "MUST"

  • @johnr8095
    @johnr8095 Před 7 lety +1

    As far as nerfing the fire token I'm wondering if you can fix it by simply moving to the next fire space OR draw a card. And also ignore the rule where you can move another pawn to the home space. You can even turn the fire token into a negative where, if you end up in the home space with the fire token you have to put the ice token on another of your pawns thats still on the board. It sounds like you can do a lot of customized rules with this sort of game. Haven't played so not sure if these tweaks would actually work. But, as is , the fire token does sound way too powerful.

    • @BowersGameCorner
      @BowersGameCorner  Před 7 lety

      Those both sound like viable options.
