    ➤➤Transcript (Partial):
You know, I have done my best with every single thing I've talked to you guys about-I have done my best to do what Dostoyevsky does in his novels, which is, I make a proposition, and then I spend months or years trying to figure out if I can take the bloody thing apart-if there's something wrong with it because I want to find out. I want to hit it with a hammer and see if it breaks. And what I've been trying to do is to tell you all the things that I've gathered, let's say, or-or laid out or articulated or discovered over the last thirty years that I have not been able to break with the biggest hammer that I could take to them. And I guess that's the fundamental one, is that I-I believe that the-the idea that lurks in these images, derived from very different cultures... It's the same idea: Life is suffering. Right. Indisputable. What do you do about that? You voluntarily accept it, and then strive to overcome the suffering that's a consequence of that. And you do that for you, and you do that in a way that makes it better for other people, and then that works. And one question might be well, how well does it work? And the answer is: The only way that you can find out is by trying it. That's it. That's the existential element of it. The proof is to be derived by the incarnation of the attitude in your own life. No one can tell you how it will work for you. It's the thing that your destiny is to discover that. And you have to make the decisions to begin with, because you can't do this without commitment. You have to commit to it first. That's the act of faith that-that Kierkegaard was so insistent upon. You have to say: I'm going to act as if being is good. I'm going to act as if truth is the pathway to enlightenment. I'm going to act as if I should pursue the deepest meaning possible in my life. And there's reasons to do none of those. They're real reasons. So it's really a decision. But you can't find out what the consequence of the decision is unless you make the decision. I think the same thing happens when you get married, by the way. If you think you might leave, you're not married. And then you think: well, the marriage didn't succeed. It's like, well, maybe you were never married, because the rule is: you don't get to leave. And there's a reason for that rule. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't situations where there should be exceptions made for that, that's not the point. The point is that there's some games you don't get to play unless you're all-in. And the other thing that's so interesting about being alive is that you're all-in. No matter what you do you're all-in. This is going to kill you. So I think you might as well play the most magnificent game you can while you're waiting, because, do you have anything better to do? Really? Why not pick the best thing possible that you could do? Why not do that? Maybe you could justify your wretched existence to yourself that way. I think you could. That's what it looks like. You know, people find such meaning in the responsibilities they adopt. It stops making them ask questions about what life is for. If you have a newborn child, for example-like, unless you're really in a bad way, psychotically depressed, or maybe your personality really needs some retooling, you stop thinking about anything but ensuring that that baby is doing well. And if someone comes along and asks you an existential question about your commitment to that, the right response is: why are you asking me such stupid questions when this is manifesting...

Saving typically results in you earning a lower return but with virtually no risk. In contrast, investing allows you the opportunity to earn a higher return, but you take on the risk of loss in order to do so. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled retirement.

I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses..

The amazing thing is that this is not 'new' wisdom. Don't get me wrong, I revere Jordan Peterson just as much as others do. But essentially he is, in a way, telling us that which already know but do not fully realize. It's as if you had forgotten a word you were thinking of, then having someone tell you what that word is. You feel both incredulous and relived at hearing that lost word, which you had trouble recalling. This is the feeling Mr. Peterson invokes, at least in me, when he reveals a revelation about the symbols and signs in our society.
Perhaps Jordan would not have found himself at the front lines of our culture war, had he not been a good speaker. But he is...and an incredibly excellent one at that! If every teacher I had spoke as eloquently and passionately as Peterson, I might very well be in a different situation than I am in today. But what he is speaking of, within this particular lecture, is what may have brought me to my current situation today, regardless of academic proficiency.
The follies and tragedies of my life have ultimately lead me to where I am. We were poor and so I had to work full time throughout my time in high school, from the age of fourteen. Our single Mother fell quite ill, placing the responsibility on me and my brother to pay bills. I suffered various accidents and injuries over my lifetime, ultimately landing me as a handicapped or disabled person. So while I am still trying to adjust to my situation, I heed the advice which Peterson divulges here. The universality does escape us, that we all suffer. My story could be no different than your own, but what we do in the wake of adversity and tragedy, as Peterson teaches us, is what makes that experience tolerably.
I am grateful for having found Jordan Peterson online. I would have otherwise not heard of him, were he transported into the limelight. For the adversity, which Peterson now suffers, I am also grateful.

You seem older so what Jordan says makes a lot of sense. I think he blew up though, not because he's speaking truth we know but forgot, but rather because young people don't know this yet in any meaningful way. And they get officially taught that you can't succeed because everyone else is racist etc. And the way to see the world is by identifying with a group. And you're ok if your group is ok. Whereas Jordan focuses on the individual. How it's suffering and to elevate the suffering without blaming a group but yourself.

Life would actually be very easy if we could just achieve whatever we want by working hard and smart.
But it's rather the dependency on other people, the resentment from other people, the hate from other people, the jealousy from other people, and the fact that you being the hardest and smartest worker in the room, is probably going to work in your disfavor, not your favor.
That's the REAL reason why life sucks. I can't tell how many times I've done my absolute best and gotten little to nothing in return. You come to a point where it's just better to not try at all and let things come to you naturally instead (as they should), rather than this constant pushing.
Being a Civic Economist from the best Business school in my country, I literally could not care if I just worked as a Cashier at a grocery store. But then again, I can never get such a position again, even if I begged for it.
So yeah, be careful for what you wish for because you just might get it. And just like JP said; You're screwed no matter what you do.
I just want to die, so fed up with life.

Stay strong my friend. Think of how you are currently feeling, as a visitor, that needs to leave. It will leave eventually, especially if you work out how to ask it to leave. Eventually you will let a nicer visitor in. Stay strong, and convince yourself you are enough, everything is an illusion we create. You can and will create positive illusions. X

Ur right, it's living in that dichotomy of needing people and hating people. I think love & our higher nature come thru when we live as simply as possible and are inspired to give freely, not out of codependency. And we have to let go of the notion of "happiness". It only creates misery.
That's why I want to start singing again. It's a small thing of beauty, expectation free, that I can keep for myself. Something to steady me thru the successes & failures, even the seeming futility of life.

"6 degrees", by Mark Lynas, which fully shows the Climate HELL coming by 2030, as we have already passed 2 degrees Celsius(3.7) Fahrenheit, 2. "Journey of Souls", by Michael Newton. About reincarnation. 3. "What I Believe" by the philosopher, Hans Kung. I am 60 and have been a philosopher for 45 years. These are the 3 wisest books I would read NOW.

He talks about being 'blinded' but it seems to me his example of having a newborn child 'blinds' you so that you are so busy changing diapers that you don't have time to think/worry about the meaning of life. Is that his big answer, to just be so busy that you don't have time to think about it? Sure having those clips in the background and words typed on the screen makes it SEEM like this is wise stuff, but in my opinion he has said a lot more profound stuff than what is in this clip.

Commitment to each other is the reason for the rule. It is as if you think you are the only one that knows that. Why do we stand before our friends and family and commit to marriage if we are not committed? What does that word commitment mean? However, reconciliation of ideologies of belief systems must be Valued.

What this man is doing is making academic studies great again. Men like him, scholars, should be prized by the society. They are the people who should "have a following" and whose voices "deserve to be heard", because they are learned men who read, study, and write to great extents in their respective academic fields. They should be the KOLs, key opinion leaders, in the true sense. Now, not saying they must be right, but their opinions deserve to be considered.
