Since many of the norms from 1950s USA are still prevalent today in Mexican society, especially when it comes to traditional gender roles, the purpose of this video is to see what a modern-day Mexican woman thinks of the gender roles of 1950s USA.
This is generalizing a bit, in heterosexual Mexico marriages, the wife typically doesn't have a full-time job unless the husband doesn't make enough money to support the family. It's mostly considered the wife's job to take care of the home and the kids. When the wife doesn't have a full-time job she will often have a part-time hobby business, such as selling baked goods.
If it isn't obvious from my white t-shirt, leather jacket, 1950s hairstyle, and me using lingo from that era ... THIS VIDEO IS ME PLAYING A ROLE OF A 1950s MAN.

May... sadly the Philippines are very similar to a 50s house wife in the US. I watch many videos of these Philippine woman that bend over backwards for their western men. A lot of western men travel there to find these traditional types. Then again, they are the ones that are supporting these women and they never have much of their own so it's almost as if they are bound to them and do anything to make them happy. Sadly at times it could be for something as simple as having a cup of rice to eat. The men step out on these ladies and 98%of the time they don't say a word about it. Or the men leave and visit the bars over night and still they don't say anything. Bottom line is... they are definitely the closest thing to a 50s house wife a man could get in this time period. I'm proud that you stood your ground and know your worth May. I think you and Jordan would be happy in your marriage ❤

LOL... Didn't take the AI 'bot' long, to find this: Reverse narcissism... Imagine, a time when co- dependent women acted like mate complimenting "ladies..." and actually still "worked in the home, raising a family" (as they did for tens to hundreds of thousands of years...) instead of competing, with men. WOW! But this was obviously "satire..." even in the 1950s in the publications it was published in, in preparation of what was soon to be "unleashed." (i.e. When most men were still being MEN... working outside the home, earning most of the money (when 10- 12% was spent, on housing...) and providing and protecting... before they 'conned' women into also living an 'unfulfilling' life to "serve the 'slave' system..." beginning right after that, in the mid- 1960s. (While also encouraging their offspring get 'indoctrinated...' into being "tax and debt slaves..." of the .01%.)
If Mexico is where the US was after the IH$ cult's Trojan horsed: "Vatican 2.0" (1958- '62) and so- called "British InvaSION..." (turned UN/ WEF/ E$G) just look northward, and to Western Europe, etc. to SEE how things will soon "change, for the worse." (And if women there soon become like the ones here in the US and Canada, etc., then the birth rate will DROP below 2.2 "replacement rate" exponentially, as well within several decades, by design... and that isn't what ANYONE but the top elites, and their "useful idiot" masses of brain- drained Cluster B personality "entitled" botheads (now filing over 80% of US divorces, then letting public indoctrination "brainwash" over 40% of the kids) want. Femi- schism soon DESTROYS everything... from "the family," to the society... within two de- generations, yet they are still: "pushing it" HARD to "destabilize, and subvert..." as THAT was, and remains "the plan..." all along! Frankist funded Fabian Socialist, to Postmoderne MARXism, 101.)

When listening to the list keep in mind the life of the man and wife were as follows.
Te man would work 8 - 5 which means he leaves the house at 7 and arrives at 6. He had to eat dinner and be in bed by 9 or ten.
Thew wife would be at the house all day with the kids if they had them.
The man had 3 or 4 hours tops to wind down after work so I can see how some of these would facilitate that.

I've seen these before and they are funny. The main thing to remember was it was both people taking care of each other, the husband would work to provide a good life for his family and the wife would provide a good home for her family. The woman wasn't a slave for her domestic skills and the man wasn't a slave for working and spending that money on his family rather than just himself. I guess there was more of people looking out for each other and working to make each other happy than they might be in today's marriages. Sometimes it doesn't work out, that happens, it just seems too many couples give up too easily nowadays rather than working things out. I'm hoping to see a turn around in this, I probably won't but it would be awesome.

I agree. Not that a woman should only put her husband’s needs before her own and never talk freely, but genuine interest in the husband from the wife usually did lead to a husband being genuinely interested in his wife too. It’s ok. I love where I live haha in the middle of progressive but regressive USA seeing a bunch of angry 35-50 year old women who are past their prime in sexual attraction (get mad all you want prog-women lol ok?) whining about how now that they are ready to settle down, can’t find a man. Selfish behavior has consequences and western culture is in free fall due to it. I’m glad I married a wonderful spouse who loves me, whom I love, and that we both work together to raise our beautiful children.
Edit: before I get labeled a boomer, I assure you that I’m not even close.

@@dcarts5616 A wife should absolutely put her husband's needs before her own.....and the husband should put the wife's needs before his own.
Keep in mind...in 1955 US, wives were homemakers and husband's worked outside of the home.
Her "job" was to be a homemaker. If the husband was doing his job properly to provide income for the home then she should be doing her job as well.
Even today... both spouses should put out effort to make the other spouses life a happy one....
Modern society, in the US, has NOT improved. It has taught women that their husbands are their adversaries and they should do only for themselves and hold their husband in contempt. And then they wonder why men don't want to marry now...and often why they don't even want to date.
If both partners do not WANT to put out effort to make the others life better and more enjoyable, then they honestly shouldn't be together. Its a recipe for unhappiness.

Both gender still have responsibilities that come with the territory. That’s why you get married not to have a girlfriend but to have someone to take care of you. If not, it’s not worth it. Sorry, Jordan you might have to put tinder on hold and go to those little magic towns to get a proper wife. 🤣🤣🤣😅

People take a magazine's article as a norm. The equivalent today would be to think that every woman does what Cosmopolitan tells us to do. Articles reflect some general views but usually go to a certain extreme. Men in the 50's did a lot for the household as well and they didn't have as an affectionate a relationship with their children as many do today. So, it wasn't all the burden on the women of that time.

Hi! Thanks for asking! Eve thought we would love to have a baby & we’ve talk about that a lot; we still have lots of things to do like becoming engaged; getting married, get our new house, etc. more than because of a religious or internal familiar reason, I like having order in my life, that’s part of who I am. So I honestly doubt that the baby would come after all that.

hahaha - hilarious. On another note - that WAS the expection I was raised with in the 50's and became a wife / mother in 1970. Things were changing by then, but I was schooled by my older siblings for the expectations of the 50's. One of the good things the 60's brought for women. Unfortunately, many of the feminists of the time seem to be in hiding in present day.

This is a double edged sword. Depending on work schedules. Both husband and wife so the roles can be reversed. My wife works and she props food for the week and just throw it in the oven every other day. We eat the same thing twice , then put another peeped dish in and repeat.Sometimes I make up her plate and I wash the dishes and clear off the table. So she can go to the gym and get home at a decent time, if you have kids everything is up in the air you both just pitch in we’re your needed. Kids are tiring

Re: Tips: If a woman works she can't be expected to be the perfect homemaker like she could be if she didn't work, but, if she is a stay at home wife, I would say that I personally would be okay with several of the tips. 1. I don't mind planning and making nice meals. So I would be okay with that. 2. It's not a bad idea to look nice for someone you love minus the ribbon. lol 3. I'm okay with this one because I don't like to be bored either. So I don't have an issue with throwing some excitement into the mix. 4. I don't like clutter or messiness so I wouldn't need to tidy up during the last 15 minutes it would already be clean. lol 5. If there is a fireplace and it's cold, why not light the fire? Besides it's romantic. 6. It's a good idea if possible. 7. That should be easy most of the time if you love someone, unless it was a bad day. 8. It's not that hard to smile so why not? 9. I will break on this one. Shared experiences by both people should be equally discussed. He's not more important than she is. 10. This one is a good idea in theory, but again, it depends on what happened during the day. If the plumbing just flooded the entire place it would be difficult to do. lol 11. Forget this one, maybe late can be explained, but all night? Without a phone call? All I can say is he better be pinned under a car in a traffic accident or the relationship would be over as far as I'm concerned. 12. I could do that. 13. I could do it but I don't see myself removing his shoes unless it was a request. lol 14. This one I have a problem with because he sounds like a narcissist. I don't mind a guy taking the lead as long as he's intelligent and makes sound decisions, but I feel he should share things with his wife and take her feelings into consideration. No one wants an unreasonable tyrant. "No right to question him"? I'm not okay with this one. lol 15. "a good wife always knows her place"? It depends on what it means. If it means she is treated like a subservient No way, but if it means she should use discernment in social settings so as not to embarrass him then yes. The same should apply to him. lol So there you have my take on it for what it's worth. I might view it more traditionally than some, but even I have my limits. lol 🧚‍♀

Many US men think they are going to find a woman less interested in equality, in essence a 2cnd mom in other countries, someone to assist like a free maid. Good luck! That’s why lots of Latinas are WAITING or simply not choosing to marry. We have college degrees and expectations of equal household chores and equal childcare responsibilities. I think a conversation on all the great educational and work changes Latinas FINALLY experience after excluded via law and traditions of the past and to be finally fully human is a more interesting story. I hope May is aware of red flags, lol.

if you do not want to specifically make your husbands life better....to make the home a haven, then you don't deserve a husband.
And I do think the husband should specifically put out great effort to make his wifes life better and happier as well.
What you're describing is seeing the husband as an adversary rather than a partner....and holding him in contempt.
You've been indoctrinated into a narrative guaranteed to bring you a life of misery.
But you are right about one thing. I do expect...and won't except less....than a wife who desires to put out effort to make my home a haven from the stressors of the world. If she is not of that mind.....exactly why would I want to marry her? Because I WANT an adversary in my homelife?
