Hey guys! Today we met up with Calvin to take a spin in his Pandem Widebody Honda Civic EG Hatch! This is yet another build that goes to prove you don't need 500HP to have a lot of fun on the street, and that all it really comes down to is the driving dynamics and what you feel as a driver behind the wheel. That, and that fact Calvin and his brother have made a great looking car in the process, all from their own garage with not much more than a couple of rattle cans and wrenches. Enjoy!

Who says Hondas can't put a smile on your face?! :D Heading out to shoot an EPIC series with HPA Motorsports right now, see you guys soon!
Where does one get that body kit ?
Lol I didn't see it put a smile on your face. No classic Marcus chuckle as you floored it.
Dave Smith from TRA kyoto or Greddy. Mine was purchased from ICB motorsports
@@calvinlee5289 thank you. Must say I love the car . Always been a fan of the EG4 myself. This one sounds sweet and I love the wide kit on it. Have to get myself one .
I sense a 600 hp Golf R coming ! Booooost !
I love how much he loves his car. Great build! He isn't ashamed of it and doesn't care what anyone else thinks! True car guy.
Why in the world, would he be ashamed of it??????
@@aoucelloutus3573 that civic... look like death on wheel....
This car is amazing I recently had to let my eg hatch go in a trade for an Em1. Only reason I did was bcuz my brother decided to surprise me cuz I was obviously going nowhere with my hatch lol.
Thanks for the awesome opportunity! Will definitely let you guys know when Iâve made changes for a followup
please first track mod baffled oil pan. especially on b and d series. very nice eg đ
Calvin Lee do you have an insta?
Yo saw you the other day in my R34 sedan, I saw you wave but missed the chance to wave back lol.
If you know how to paint, I'm gonna need my front bumper/fenders painted pretty soon if you could help out :^)

It's really hard to be an owner of a Civic nowadays. Today your car has to push at least 300 whp to make people appreciate your build. Besides that being harrased every minute because it's "cool" to hate on Hondas.
I love the honesty of this guy. He knows what's up with these cars. They are not fast by any means, but they are quick. And people get mad, because:
If it has no power - you have no chances in the twisties
If it has some power - you have no chances both on the straights and in the corners, sad but true.
If you live in Asia, Civic is one of the most respected car in asia's car culture. I'm still confuse why a lot of american put so much hate on this car
@@muhammadshofwan5309 well, it's not only an American thing. I live in Eastern Europe and I have to deal with VAG and BMW fanboys all the time. Fortunately, the EFs, EGs and EKs become rare on the streets, that way in few years pretty much only enthusiasts will drive them
@@LeBeckStudio great platform forsure. They're fairly common here in America. Only EF's are "rare" to see on the streets, but for the most part EG's and EK's are pretty abundant.
â@Sergio Aguirre See, that's what I'm talking about. If you need power to have fun - okay, build your engine to make 1xxx hp, I don't care. But you literally confirmed what I said earlier.
It's easy to make high numbers so you mean nothing if your car can't reach multiple hundred hp figures.
I would love to see people get into the cars with literally no power, so that way they can appreciate every car. I've driven the 320Ci E46 and guess what - it had twice the power of my Civic, but driving it felt literally like driving a boat, because it weight almost equal to two times my Civic's.
I'm building a little 1.3 liter D series that is 75 hp stock at the crank, I want to reach 150 whp. It's not much, but it's the lightest engine ever plus the weight reduction will make that car fly around the circuit.
â@Sergio Aguirre Trust me, I know enough about racing them. Again, as I said earlier, I don't care about power. Also, I don't care about high power cars on the track if their chassis isn't ready for that power. And again, you are telling me about H swap, the second heaviest engine possible before the Js. There are plenty swaps like that, most cars are done the worst way (engine swap only or slap a turbo on a totally stock car), hence why Hondas have their reputation. I'm doing this the right way - making my way from the chassis, through the suspension, brakes and AFTER that, to the engine.
I don't know if you live in the States, if yes, then we have a completely different mindstate about the cars. Here in Europe we don't have 300 hp musclecars, rather a 90 hp engines wrapped around tin cans with wheels.
Can we all just press f in the chat for his brothers lost ae86

Those 86s are very thief magnets
That's one helluva rattle can paint job!
i had to 1080p for a second lol
Wet sanding works.
I've painted cars with 98 cent rattle cans from walmart just to see what could be done. Wet sanding made it look shockingly good. Top with a decent clear.
@@raredanceclassics absolutely. Did the same with my accord. The bumpers came out looking well.
why am i driving expensive stupid german cars...this thing is awesome!
To flex in the youtube comments
To fix it again and again and waste money when it broken.
Because other people like it
Because you only want to impress others
Im driving a vw golf 3 and love it. It just works and looks awesome lowered
I saw your car parked last night, came home and found it on CZcams. Beautiful eg
The car looks something that would be featured in a hot version video. Looks great.
Rafael Rivera i know right!
i love eg's. great fun lightweight is key. for track use id do a baffled oil pan first. the b and d series like to mid corner oil starvation when going quick enough.
i'm always putting 1l oil above max on race track and its fine.
@@gerem82xx 1L OVER maximum? seems a "bit" much honestly. could be that the crank punches into the standing oil witch can lead do the oil bubbling like a milkshake....
YES YES YES! I don't even know how it's possible to hate/not like this whole setup!
Damn this thing is badass! Love how aggressive the pandem kit look on the EG civic!
This is a refreshing video the production on it is brilliant
You guys think Shingo would be proud of him?
archiei40x as long as I donât crash it, probably đ€·ââïž
Calvin Lee Nonono, crashing it is just part of the Shingo experience!
Nah Shingo's is alot more clean.

For Californians itâs drift weather haha

Front lip going to canards is just magnificient
Always a fan of the EG6,EK9.Mountain beast!!!
Driving those eg hatches are fun as hell, itâs literally a go kart. Runs good!
Miss my civic coupe now....had it for 10 years....my longest lasting relationship
You know, I actually really dig the sound. Its got an anger, some aggression to it. I'm not sure how loud the intake is in person, but it didn't come across so much on video. If I were to give a suggestion, it would probably be to have some more induction sound. But I really like it overall. Well done. đ
When the pandem kit probably costs more then the car. Dedication đ„
yeah the kit is around 4,5k :D
i just looked to get one for my pink eg3
That's my dream car. That's almost exactly how I want it set up too. I'd have black rims and red brake rotors. Either B18 Type R or K20 swap . Rear splitter, roll cage and flat bottom also. Maybe AWD K24 w/K20head N/A if money was no option.
Rattle canned? That came out great! Excellent build, I bet it is super fun.
garage built as well! thanks for the support
Thats one badass EG. It sure does make me miss my red 92 civic si hatch 15.7 quarter mile bone stock..
I saw this car at the Vancouver International Auto Show! It is beautiful!
He is soo happy đđ
Holy freaking go kart! That thing looks fun to drive. Cant believe they painted it with just spay paint...yall got skills man
Curlyano26 very fun to drive! Thanks for the supportive comment!
My dream build is an N/A screamer, like this Civic...This thing is pretty sick :)
Had a c1 block with b16 head, complete NA build that rev'd to 9500. Soo much fun.
Sick man, I wanted this car so bad when I first have my license 23 years ago
The Night Kids would be proud of this build
BLAKE DA GREAT keep the gaurdrails away
Calvin Lee yes lol
*_These widebody hatches are so unique and so dope. Amazing builds over all._*
*-eyegasm-*
this is the first civic hatchback ive seen that i actually like. well done!
Shingo took COOL VIBRATIONS to a hole new level
Looks and sounds like a little dragon. This is the coolest Civic ive seen in my life. Really inspiring!
Now this is a *HOT* hatch
I am an EF fan myself, but DAYUM, this is one gorgeous EG! If I had an EG, I'd want one just like this one.
The only Honda I can say that exceeds all of my expectations I mean look at it it is eye candy for sure
That extra 1-2 inches of body on the side makes such a huge difference in terms of appearance. Awesome build.
If I was to put an EG together, this would be it. Car looks good !
CLEAN!!! More Honda content please!
I am Japanese but I have never seen such a cool EG6 in Japan.
I am 34 and these were the cars that made me fall in love with Japan. The sad thing is it's almost impossible to find a stock one anymore.
Not sure where you live, but these things are literally everywhere for 1500 bucks
@@lolskylar Texas, and a 5-speed stock EG is a rarity anywhere.
looks soooooo good
lol that drop, and BAM, we're still looking at an empty road. good work guys, editing of champions.
This is what people should be aiming for. Cars are meant to be driven!
Te quedĂł precioso đ€©.. amazing. Amo mi eg5 vti blanco. Me encanta la lĂnea atemporal..
Now i wanna begin that Project đđŸ From Dominican Republic đ©đŽ Thatâs could be my first car đđŸâ€ïž I havenât started and Iâm excited , letâs save money to make this project reality đđŸâ€ïž God Bless All of Us đđŸ
Great job Calvin, thats an awesome build. Sometimes simplicity is key.
Yeah I see guys at car shows all the time with cars that they've spent so much money on that they're afraid to drive it.
Just today I was at a show were guys were arriving with cars on trailers. I thought to myself what's the point of car that's not driven.
I own a civic eg stock everything other than some 15x7 rims, i also own a 96 miata turbo with everything done to it.. and im not going to lie, my civic eg tho slow is just as fun to drive as the miata.. both great cars, love the light weight quick handling cars, new cars are so heavy and boring.. i did not want to spend any more money on my civic but after this video im so motivated to at least do suspension.
Anthony e very worth it! Do it
Step:1 Alarms, kill switches etc.. Step:2 performance.
THIS.
Tuning is all fun & games until someone steals ur car.
@@halvdan7978 so true
Hell yea especially hondas
Iâve had not one but two DB8s stolen đą
@@chaseteter did you follow step1 ? It's so easy and cheap to install security, idk why people don't do it...
This channel always amazes me with the cars/owners they upload đ
Man this is such a beautiful car. Perfectly balanced.
Martin Noyola like all things should be *insert avengers meme*
I love that f'kn widebody kit. So aggressive but matches so good.
this is a honda that is done right!!! Very Very well done
This is a very cool build, most people hate Hondas, putting it to shame especially those who own hondas getting hate and then few a months later they sell it because of hate. Love the hatchback bro!đđ€đ„
I always throw on a wide-body jacket and fill it with snickers bars and I am battle ready. amurica!
That is the best civic I've ever seen.
Looks and sounds good.đŻ
I'm usually not a honda fan but this build kinda cool. Thumbs up from me, well done.
Really nice wellbuild project on our favorite honda body
Big respect to the dude. Great car. I'd love to do this to mine
Building something you want is better than buying new to be cool.
that sweet sound of RPMs before you shift.
Calvin it's simply SICK
Steve Howard thanks mate!
Nice Civic. BUT PLEASE... Can we get some interior and engine bay shots. I understand if its dirty or in the making but as a Del Sol guy these additions to your vids would be a major +++. aloha n keep it up.
Adam Glick Lindsey The interior is basically ready đ I donât have much under the hood but thereâs a few shots of it on IG: kousoku.battle
I canât get enough of this video, this Civic is so damn clean đ„đ„
Remember seeing that this at the Vancouver autoshow, this thing is insane!!
Tyson Palma hope you liked seeing it both in person and here!
This car looks fantastic
Love the car and absolutely love the cinematography
i love that you can totally hear the V-tech kick in!
@10:53 a buddy of mine use to work there when he lived in Japan! He's pretty close to some of the other who work there! I think he had a Soarer while he lived there (now trying to import one here in the state).
Building my hatch rn, fully built single cam, just waiting on block, head is built with all aftermarket parts, boosted hoping to make 300+ on 20-25 lbs... currently shaving the bay right now almost done. đ€đŸ. I do everything myself đ
This hatchback looks pretty dope! Great build guys! S/O to Calvin Lee and brother on this build!
Been following calvin since he also has a g35 and lives in my area. that man has great taste in cars đ
thanks for the kind words eric!
Foook, that civic is beautiful. Just like this man I'm not ashamed to say my dream car is an eg hatchđđ
Wow this is đ„. This is what Iâm looking to do my Honda in the future. But donât know where to start it from. Keeping up the great work âïž
Calvin is a true purist.
About time .. something relatable and interesting... Markus you need a hand... Your awesome JDM vids are few and far between... Dope EG6
of all the eg hatch that ive seen, this is the one i liked the most.
I have a 92 si civic stock 330,000 , original owner. Love it!
Cool car and owner!
Andrew L thank you!
Thats dopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Very impressive that you painted it yourself.
That intro tho đ„
One of the best lawnmower! Hands down!!!
I miss so much my 95' EJ1. Just sold it 1 week ago... I'll go into depression...
I am not a big fan of wide body kits, but this is NICE
love this video! I have a 96 civic ex and i plan on making it a track car!!! much inspiration!!!! AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
Congratulations Calvin. You've done an awesome job and you should be proud. Pip
Pippin Osborne itâll only keep getting better, thanks for the kind words!
Body kit work is not overly done, just right!đđŒ
took some pics of this civ at the Vancouver Auto Show a while back. Thing is sweet.
Josiah Belchior would love to have a copy of those if youâre ok with it! send a DM via ig: kousoku.battle
Those Denji headlights have really grown on to me
Jesus Soto same! One of my fave parts for sure
@@calvinlee5289 car looks amazing! Was wondering though on how many cans of dupli color you used since I also plan to do the same and thought 20 cans would do me good since they're 8oz cans
Jesus Soto if youâre only planning on doing the exterior, 20 cans will be good I think. I used 13 or 14?
@@calvinlee5289 sounds good! Thanks for the help
Thatâs so slick looking
The only thing i'm not really a fan of is the wing. But other than that, it looks really good, and i really like the mentality he has, you know, doing a cool project at home, with low budget and just having fun with it, dailying it etc. A very cool dude, i like him :)
Thanks for the support! keep your eyes open for a future follow-up for the changes
@@calvinlee5289 I'll make sure to follow that ! :)
Awesome video!!! Very lengthy detail on the build!!
That's one sweet looking civic!đđ
Don't judge by how it looks. Judge it by how it drive. Honda a blast to drive the handle and everything.
Cool! I'd go for wider rear wheels to fill out that fender but hey, it's your car!
I love itâs mean deep growl from the motor. One of the only Civics Iâve seen that makes a tolerable exhaust note honestly
Wild_ Toilet the exhaust note gets the most heat but glad someone thinks the same way as me!
This honestly is. Even coming from a honda fan. Many hondas hit a note thats kinda like ow. Lol
It's the b18c I love the way it sounds
Drivers vehicle...never knew they made this kit for a Civic.
