These stories make me feel lucky to be dating in my 40’s. There has been no guess work (for the most part) and everyone I’ve been out with has asked for consent to touch, cuddle and kiss. I’ve been the same. Those who didn’t ask were very upfront about what they wanted.
One of my biggest pieces of dating advice is to ask if you are unsure of their signals l, or want that physical interaction. No matter how innocent or raunchy it is. Be respectful and don’t take it out verbally and physically if you are rejected. A no does not always mean never and you don’t want to burn that bridge or ruin your reputation.
If your date gets upset you ask or finds it a turn off you are better off not with them because they definitely have issues developing communication and might not understand the importance consent.
Maybe I'm just sensitive. But if a girl's way of asking me out is to pull me away, pin me to a wall, and have her friends block the exits. Nah, I'm not taking that chance.

Think guys are for te most part either genuinely clueless or don’t wasn’t to miss read the situation. Even when you are being direct it seems, lol.
9th grade I was having long phone calls with a girl in 10th grade and we would hang out occasionally because she lived close by. We were in her room with her parents home but they never checked on us. She had told me that her and her exes had sex in the past and later on she told me “what would you do if I pulled out a condom right now” and my dumb virgin brain did not connect the dots. When it was time for me to leave I was gonna walk home and she told me she would walk me halfway so we got to the local park where there was an inch of melting snow on the ground she took me behind a tree was tried to take my pants off me to what I can only assume now with a lot more experience at hand was to fellate me. Again had no idea and thought she was joking around because we both had kind of a raunchy sense of humor. This happened like late 2009 and it didn’t dawn on me until a nicotine fueled runaway train of thought in 2021. Every now and again something similar pops into my head and I can only chuckle and chalk it up to a fair loss. Someone pour one out for all the homies that missed some hints while we were becoming men.
