Wonderful and mesmerizing! No one (alive) but Paul Rodgers could bring soo much chemistry to Brian and Roger at this time. I for one stand behind (And buy!) Queen + Paul Rodgers. I am eagerly awaiting the new CD.
wow! look at how many people went to the concerts! i really think that so many people wanted to here these songs live again, so thanx queen and thanx paul! I think Freddie and Koss enjoy from above ;)
Thumbs up to Paul rodgers for keeping the the queen legacy going at the time especially live wise, Queen are now rocknroll royalty let's not forget that:-)
I caught Queen + PR in 2007. Paul has an amazing voice. He covered some of Freddie's song that were never done live with Freddie, and pulled them off without a hitch.Queen chose the right guy to take over as frontman, period.
Fantastic song, it's always been one of my favourites. I've also admired Paul Rodgers as a singer for some years. However, when Paul stepped in for the heavy part of this song I think he did struggle. It's only when you try to sing a queen song you realise how powerful and strong a vocalist Freddie was. Brian was singing brilliantly and this is just one of so many of his brilliant compositions.
oh yeah, he's got a good voice, but i think Brian and Roger could have done the tour by themselves they're that good. but you're incredibly lucky to have seen them live!!! i would give anything to see Queen live!!
Great song - this video introduced me to it. Brian leads the song perfectly - as christopherwv1977 says its interesting to see brian without the guitar (a rare occurence - pavarotti for TMLWKY and 46664 - the call is about it really in recent years). Taylor as usual drums perfectly and his backing vocals complement may (and then rodgers) as well as his vocal contributions normally do. Then Rodgers comes in with such an agressive vocal touch along with may on the red special. Brilliant!
This is a wonderful rendition of a very old Queen song. The musical climax with Paul hitting that high note (an 'A' I think), is amazing. I love Queen & Paul Rodgers, they are a totally new group, and a great group at that. And in due time, all of you will see that. Long live Queen & Paul Rodgers.
This is an absolutely incredible rendition of this song...any unbeliever that Paul Rodgers isn't a legitimate, as well as appropriate choice for the frontman of Queen needs to see this. This is one of my favorite Queen songs of all time!!
Yeah, you're right! People should think twice before comparing Freddie to PR. They are completly different, and we must recognise that PR is a great singer and is doing a great job singing Queen's songs. We must respect him, his history and his work. Hes'a not a joker, and thanks to him, we can see again Brian and Roger through the world.
One of the most underrated Queen songs of all time. One of their most emotive pop anthems, like We are the champions or these are the days...really great. I think "A day..." was a great album, but their worst 70´ album (because the rest of the records are simply amazing). Anyway this song it´s the best from "A Day.."
I love Brian May!!!! and God what a voice! He's the only singer other than Freddie who can sing Queen songs and make them sound almost as good as Freddie!
Brian has written some of the finest queen songs now i'm here, whie queen, the prophets song, this song, tie your mother dow, even we wil rock you, and that's a classic ahead of all right now or run with the pack anyday. The only reason he resorted to many other artists was because hello Freddie mercury died, that leaves a huge void in the name queen.
dbenmil, Roger hits the highest notes I have ever heard a man sing in the song "The Lap of the Gods". Of course Freddie hits some high ones also but Roger is absolutely amazing. Please see "Queen In the lap of the Gods (Rainbow 1974)". The video is 3:26 minutes long. Watch out at the 2:00 minute mark. Just amazing. I just love the early Queen. All four members are geniuses.
Great song, one of my personal favorites. I think that Raul Rodgers is not good in this version in particular, but the song is a beauty full masterpiece of rock music. Brian is a great great singer.
God damn, that was awesome! (up until Danny Bonaduce snuck on stage). I knew Brian wrote that one, but never realized how much of a "guitar song" it was until now. Japan must've really impressed these boys.
Brian's voice is really beautiful, and this acoustic version's awesome. Brian don't want to replace Freddie, he know that he can't do it, 'cause they are 2 different person. Both great!
Awesome performance, I love watching Brian performing the songs he composed
I just think its amazing how Brian can take those high notes so flawless and easy, I mean he's what? 60+? Amazing
Brian does a beautiful job, what a great voice he has.
Brian does a fantastic job on this song. It's great to hear him do his take, on a song he wrote.
Wonderful and mesmerizing! No one (alive) but Paul Rodgers could bring soo much chemistry to Brian and Roger at this time. I for one stand behind (And buy!) Queen + Paul Rodgers. I am eagerly awaiting the new CD.

Great song from day at the races, It was never performed live enough..
Alex Plumb it was in Japan in 1979 and in 1981
queen + paul rodgers I love you! you are the best!!!

I wish Brian would have sung this, 39' and other ballads he wrote live when Mercury was alive.
Brian May wrote this song. I think it is just as beautiful when Brian sings it as when Freddie did.
oh yeah, he's got a good voice, but i think Brian and Roger could have done the tour by themselves they're that good. but you're incredibly lucky to have seen them live!!! i would give anything to see Queen live!!
Incredibly beautiful.
brian is just amazing!
great poet, big guitarist, sure better person!
After Freddie s death Brian and Roger are singing as they never sung alive. Wonderful!!!
brian ... rules.... brian the best ever...
I Must admit, I was enjoying this track MUCH more more before PR came on !! Well done Brian. Sung perfectly and treated with respect
Absolutely thrilling!
Just GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers!!!!!!

Roger and Brian's voices in the first chorus just go so well together... like they always have.
I didn't know this version yet! Thank you for posting. One of the overlooked gems in the Queen catalogue!

Brian is almost hypnotic!
Brian you're one in 100000 billion.
This is an absolutely incredible rendition of this song...any unbeliever that Paul Rodgers isn't a legitimate, as well as appropriate choice for the frontman of Queen needs to see this. This is one of my favorite Queen songs of all time!!

Couldn't have said it better, mate!

Great song, one of my personal favorites. I think that Raul Rodgers is not good in this version in particular, but the song is a beauty full masterpiece of rock music. Brian is a great great singer.
Come on! That's ridiculous! Paul Rodgers does an excellent job! His voice is fabulous! He is arguably one of the best rock vocalists ever!

I knew Brian wrote that one, but never realized how much of a "guitar song" it was until now. Japan must've really impressed these boys.
You forget the brilliant Spike Edney on keyboards & the fantastic Jamie Moses on 2nd Guitar!

All hail His Majesty Brian Harold May! If any god does exist, it must be him.
