Great job by the firemen. By my count, they had water on the fire 32 seconds after the engine rolled to a stop. That is outstanding! Job well done.

It's interesting to see how different departments handle vehicle fires with regards to staging, use of foam, and general physical attack strategy. Thanks for posting the video!

Kudos to that engine... they were dialed. ~30 seconds from pulling up to water on fire. Nozzle man came out in full PPE, including BA and mask already on, possibly even already on air, hose charged almost the instant it was flaked... that's how you do it.

Why does everyone that films these fires feel the need to zoom in close on the flames and the smoke rising in the sky. Just because the camera has a zoom lens does not mean you have to use it. We want to see the entire scene, not a close up of the flames. Resist the urge to zoom in.

hp2ie8 , I was thrilled with all the zooming I was hoping he could get even closer because I wanted to the individual molecules! Actually I agree with you 100%.

Those Quantums are awesome. However that step system is a problem child. It's seen a lot of issues in my area due to the salt on the roads gumming up the gears. But when its working, beautiful system..

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. First of all, there are only so many fire houses to cover an area. It takes time from the point of a 911 call, to dispatch a house, to them getting there through traffic etc.
Second, in modern vehicles, if there is visible flame, which there was from the beginning of the video on this Jeep, it is a total loss. With the modern construction and built in crumple zones, the heat degrades the metal to the point where it is structurally deficient. The car was scrap long before the fire engine arrived. There was no saving this SUV.
So keep your ignorant I'd sue comments to yourself until you know what the hell you are talking about.

Traffic! This is around a busy mall area and people just won't get out of the way. Also, the city is split by numerous busy railroad tracks. Overpasses are being built, but emergency vehicles still get blocked. Multiple firehouses and ambulance stations are strategically placed, but assets get scattered and others have to respond. Sometimes county volunteers have to cover for city units that can't respond. Great volunteer departments!

That's a Pierce Quantum pumper. great getting water on the fire quickly once on-scene. but gotta watch where you stand. as seen, lots of things explode in vehicles, includiing bumper shocks.
