Earliest Way to Get A Muramasa | Perfect/Muramasa Run - Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night

- Like the swimming Wolf video, I'd already made this one too, but it might have been moved, and also... HD! It's great to have videos with non-shit quality now. And so now begins the long and arduous process of leveling this sword beyond Super Saiyan, and regaining the kind of "complete" file that I once almost had, only now more complete than ever, because last time I started in Luck Mode.
Also when I talk about "perfect level ups"... when you level up, you can either gain +1 to one stat, +1 to two stats, +2 to one stat, +1 to three stats, or +1 to all four stats. Also, MP either goes up by +4 or +5. A "perfect level up" would be getting +1 to all stats as well as +5 in MP.
Since there's 19 different stat level up combos:
1. +1 Str
2. +1 Con
3. +1 Int
4. +1 Lck
5. +1 Str & Con
6. +1 Str & Int
7. +1 Str & Lck
8. +1 Con & Int
9. +1 Con & Lck
10. +1 Int & Lck
11. +2 Str
12. +2 Con
13. +2 Int
14. +2 Lck
15. +1 Str, Con, & Int
16. +1 Con, Int, & Lck
17. +1 Int, Lck, & Str
18. +1 Lck, Int, & Con
19. +1 Str, Con, Int, & Lck)
...and also 2 different values your MP can increase by, that means you have a 1/38 chance for a "perfect level up".
It's A LOT of resetting... - Hry
Here's a stupid thing that just happened: Thanks to this video, I remembered that "Alucart" set bonus gives Luck. Opened my inventory to equip it and found not one, but TWO Muramasas just sitting there.
Wow. That Alucart gear works _fast_ o.o
yeah. muramasa is my main sword. and loves to make it stronger. by blood heals.
@@joeyagbayani2410going crissigrim. Muramasa.despite the power you need to grind consistently to get it the strongest. The crissigrim is the strongest in terms of versatility. The sword familiar even takes down the muramasa too.
@@AnthonyKusanagi101you get 2 crissaegrims then just walk into everything lol
Thank you for the effort and valuable tips bro!
Ever since I discovered the Muramasa's gimmick, it's been my favorite sword in the game.
Provides healing with the right enemies.
Non-physical Damage (Curse). Even those Guardians will melt at the Muramasa's cursed rage. Only the Mummy boss is immune to Curse and can be easily defeated by throwing knives at him.
Has an AoE Attack (Slash Flurry) on 30+ ATK.
You can make it as strong as you want, if you're willing to put the effort. Just having that Slash Flurry is enough for me. Getting it to 100+ ATK already felt overkill (to me at least), even more so with Ring of Varda.
I've been interested in doing a Muramasa run, but I haven't tried grinding it. How long does it take before the Muramasa becomes worthwhile in your opinion? How long would it take to get it to say 50 attack by your estimation?
@@spaghettiking7312 The Muramasa can be dropped by the Spectre Swords in the Clock Tower. The Sword Lords in the area will turn into Spectre Swords after you kill them once.
You can easily reach the area as soon as you get the Bat Soul.
Once you get the Muramasa, I'd say get it's ATK to 30+ for the normal castle. You can easily reach that ATK by killing Mermen at the Castle Entrance. It would take up to 10-15 mins to do so.
@@johnangelotenorioVandal Swords actually.
@@johnangelotenorioor go to the dark octopus room in the Reverse caverns
@@AnthonyKusanagi101 That tip above is mainly about getting Muramasa while still at the regular castle.
The Dark Octopus swarmed area in the Reverse Caverns is indeed where you grind the Muramasa's damage to your limit.
what's great is i played SotN for the first time this year- I thought this was the intended route after you unlocked the Wolf. This is amazing that I did it WRONG but still had an amazing experience regardless.
Me too, hahaha 😅 and I beat the game like 50 times that way until try num 51 I decided going through Royal Chapel instead and meet María 🖤♠️🖤♠️ for the second time.
(Alucard explains to her that the castle, 'in every Game', haha, it's different 'cause it is a creature of k' Ozz.. and it may take many incarnations. So she can't trust her memories..
I have a serious problem being a freaky with this game. Sorry, really.. 😅
What I love to do every few days or so is I go to the area with Merman and Start killing them with the Muramasa about 10000 kills or 2 hours long and it really boosts the attack rate of the sword. I love it tell you get the crisagrim sword from shroom ghost in the inverted library.
Made my muramasa attack at 700+ almost there to 999 max out
Good job and good luck. Takes forever by 900+ xD
Most difficult achievement in this game will accomplish by next 2 days
You know that the game has a built-in sorting system, right? You can choose where items go, but you can also sort by category. So much easier than just manually organizing your inventory
For the most part, but it doesn't quite sort the items the same way. I have it sorted by gear type and damage/stats, but yeah it does have its own sorting system of sorts.
Is the Muramasa one of those drops where you have to beat the game first? Like the Ring of Varda?
Nope. Just need lots a' luck!
You drop from monsters like Vandal Sword or Scarecrow
'That Precious' is the only item that requires New Game+, to my knowledge.
@@Shin_FTW maintaining alucard stats is worthless you can't check it when your reaching lv99.
Is there a way i can do that trick like in the ps3? Where you start a new game file and you pressed select and when you find the first muramasa is the one you have.been leveling up
Thanks for the help I got lucky grinding for this after watching this video and got it in under 20 minutes using this method now I just need to level it up lol the video is on my channel if anybody wants to see the grinding starts about 16 minutes in because I did the gear room puzzle first on my way
Gosssh I used to hate HATE the clocktower gears area as a teen playing this on my PS1. But cool to have some old memories.
Is the HP increased on a lvl up also a random value?
You didn't mention the HP and Hearts. Only MP, STR, CON, INT and LCK.
HP is set, and I believe hearts are too iirc. Those are more affected by what you do at the start of the game, before getting to Alucard.
Do you know if there is a Soft Reset/ Hard reset possible in order to Corrupt the SaveFile? Holding Select+ Start wont work.
Adding the shoulder buttons give the same effect. It feels like the Game instant save the Game like an Emulator so even shutting down the Game doesnt effect the savefile.
In the original PlayStation version, using a soft reset (all four shoulder buttons + SELECT + START) will result in the console retaining the Muramasa's current level in its RAM; if another game file is loaded in which the player has a Muramasa, the level will be passed to that game. Saving the game will permanently set that game's Muramasa to the new ATK value.
Yeah it doesn't seem possible in this version, especially considering that it's actually a port of the PSP version lol.
How can I increase my muramasa damage in the normal castle? I just dropped one xD it's 24 damage
I used the Merman room for the first... lot of Atk lol. It takes a while. I have an older video, possibly on Shin FTW 2, where I showed myself doing it a bit. Not much to show though lol.
Ok Bro. Those are some fine comments and nice hobby you got. 😂
Maybe im too lost here, or else im doing something wrong, vandal sword never apears anytime o kill sword lords, can somebody help?
Its in the rooms after the clock tower
"i am meticulous"
Me: but there is an aito sort function?
It doesn't sort it very well. Or at least not by my criteria
I actually got the holy sword form them while I wasn't even trying to farm for it
Ugh i cant get up the stairs and make that backward jump with the wolf as if the medusa heads werent annoying enough put them and the petrifying variant in a spot where you have to pull off a maneuver
I never thought about it, but yeah, they can be a pain if they wanna be lol.
@@Shin_FTW i have the same problem ( i tried to get to these stairs using other glitch ) but thanks to you and this video i can farm heaven sword early (also i use stop time against medusa heads )
I know this comment is really old by now but I recommend waiting until you have the bat in the mist form just look up a guide if you're stuck on that part you can usually have all of that unlocked by 2 hours in without using any type of speed running methods
Save state for faster perfect level up.
2 hours..... still no Muramasa
bout to give up
Got myself 3 Cissaegrams while ago. If only Alucard had 3 arms...
He does in the saturn version, but the third one is too weak to hold anything but consumables.
Is it possible to transfer Muramasa stats to a new file in the PS4 version, the way you can on PS1? Thanks!
I believe so, but I never actually learned how to do that on PSX tbh lol.
On PS1, you just load the save file with the Muramasa you want to copy. Then, soft reset with [select+start], which will store that Muramasa's ATK stat in system RAM. Start a new game, get a new Muramasa, and it'll have the same ATK. Save your game to make this permanent.
Problem is, on PS4, you can't soft reset. I tried a few alternatives - the Quit Game option, the Quick Save, and beating the game then starting a new file - with no success. One guy at GameFAQs claims he got the PSP version to copy his levelled Muramasa by using the Quit Game option, then starting a new game, but I can't find any corroboration. Ah well, there's always the PS1 disc. ^__^
Great videos, by the way! Your Frozen Half ice storm dodge convinced me to pick up the PS4 version, I've had a blast revisiting SOTN.
Many of the ports of C:SotN are based on the one that was included in Rondo of Blood PSP remake. To my knowledge, the soft reset exploit for Muramasa will not work for them.
I love how inaccurate this version is. Look at the purple chord of elevator.
Does anyone have a neat list of all the enemies that bleed in SOTN?
So far I got Merman, Bloody Zombie, Dark Octopus and I am trying a blank lol
Lots of them actually. Medusa Head does too. Iirc the Werewolf, the karate master in the Colosseum, the Owl, the zombies that split in Death Wing's Lair, Cave Trolls, Flea Man, _maybe_ Minotaur, Bats (LOTS of them in Floating Catacombs), and some others. Dark Octopi is the fastest way though overall, and Mermen in the normal castle.
@@Shin_FTW Thanks for the great list... I was always annoyed that someone never compiled them all in one place lol.
Yeah. And even then these are just from memory lol. There's definitely more. I think any Flea riding enemies give blood too.
@@Shin_FTW I am so OCD about this kind of stuff that I will report back to you with my full list after i get the Mura this playthrough lol
@@reynaee Thanks alot
How do you have so much bonus atributes at lvl 25 with just wolf?
2 Rings of Varda. They're REPLAY items you can get, along with the Duplicator.
So can you explain the muramasa to me? I dont understand, like what is blood healing?
It's a permanent Dark Metamorphosis. When enemy blood splatters touch you, it heals you and helps level up the Muramasa.
@@Shin_FTW oh wow..
Ive played through this game a handful of times and im still finding out new things.
So you just equip the muramasa and eventually it will be really strong after killing a bunch of enemies?
Could be shorter, but ty
Do you have farm the crissagrim in a library
Yes, farm the schmoo
Goods for your amazing uploads *@Shin_FTW.* You're a major player in the Symphony league and we're grateful for that.
I would also like to suggest a proper New Game+ guide. While it has been previously covered on youtube, nobody could touch your own level, so please think about it
/watch?v=K66xcYtOmFo
Early maxed out Muramasa would be so much fun :D
Thanks! I don't think I'm quite on that level since I'm no speedrunner or expert glitcher. I do like the combat in the game though. I know about the glitch you speak of with carrying your Muramasa over to a new game, though that one I have no experience in performing. Partly from lack of opportunity since the last time I did a Muramasa run was on a separate console that bricked lol.
Would save a lot of time though instead of grinding Mermen so I can oneshot everything xD
@@Shin_FTWhello there! throughout the years you've shared so many great guidelines and created several wonderful videos. I'm more than certain that you could showcase a newgame+ video and exhibit all the horror and joys of a 999attack Muramasa, sto please do think about it 8)
You know you can just hit the attack button over the empty hands and scroll down another list. That sorts it automatically
Swords
S.swords
Medicines
Shields
Rods
Puts all that stuff at the top depending on what you select. Split second find what ya need
Yeah, though I don't have it just sorted by that lol. Also had them ordered by other factors, like the ATT. I was very OCD lol.
Couldn't you just press square in inventory to sort items automatically?
To a degree, but it doesn't sort them as specifically, or accurately by damage.
NOOOOO WAY DUDE! I LITERALLY GOT THE SAME 2 KNIGHTS TO DROP THE SWORD TWICE IN A ROW! AS FUCKING IF 😆
Im on a version where his armor doesnt give any luck at all... what do I do. Its the 2022 release on google play
Are you wearing Alucard or Alucart?
@@Shin_FTW Alucart... damn it

@@marcelalexander7516 Alucart is the correct gear. It's faux Alucard gear. Doesn't have the same stats or properties, but gives +30 Lck when all 3 are worn. If it's not working, yeah the google one is borked.
@@Shin_FTW where there was supposed to be three. I think the glasses or necklace or something wasn't there. Just the sword and shield. Might have to search for the last item all over again. I appreciate the info my guy.
5:48 - 6:30 what actually you are doing? Sadly we cant farm crissaegrim at the beginning 😂 but nevermind alucard was too OP anyway 😅
Oh I'm arranging stuff by item category, and then by attack power in that category xP
I just saw your most viewed videos...
Wait why are your circuits tripping?
Really crappy wiring. I'm waiting for it to perfectly time a power shutdown right after I no-hit a tough boss in Elden Ring before I can save the recording lol.
What sword do you have
In this video? I'm using the Alucart Sword. It's a replica of the Alucard Sword, only MUCH weaker and doesn't have the special attack. You pair it with the Alucart Mail and Alucart Shield for a +30 Luck boost.
very convincing drag queen 💀
I'm not really a fan of muramasa. My favorite endgame set is Mourneblade + Crisseagream prior to Masamune. That set feels like way imbalanced.
Tbh even a single Crissaegrim can outshine Muramasa in most cases outside of some bosses, since Muramasa is overkill and Crissaegrim has more area/reach and lets you use it while mobile. I did do Mourneblade + Vorpal Blade, which is fairly balanced. Also did a Heart Refresh + Mana Prism with the Duplicator and Stopwatch to cast nonstop spells and keep time stopped, and the i-frames the two items give you. Difficult to execute, but powerful.
What the heck my muramasa i got its 60 only but your 114? Damage 🤔
I have 2 Rings of Varda on 🤪
What do you mean by "resetting for perfect level ups"??????
When you level up, your HP and Hearts go up by a set amount, but your MP, Str, Con, Lck, and Int don't.
Your MP randomly goes up by 4 or 5 every level up, while your Str/Con/Lck/Int level ups are even more random.
1 of them could increase by 1.
2 of them could increase by 1.
1 of them could increase by 2.
3 of them could increase by 1.
or
All of them could increase by 1.
A perfect level up would be +5 MP and +1 in all 4 base stats. So I was constantly resetting until that would happen lol.
Oh shit i had a luck mode run at level 75 and now im going to have to do it all over again
Well I’m level 22 and I’m going for perfect level 23 because I have to fight Cerberus
Well you know I have to get to level 99 before the inverted castle and getting 99 of all drops in the first castle than the drops in the inverted castle where there is the dodo bird with this stupid Runesword that is the hardest drop for me to get in this game even in luck mode it takes me about 10 minutes just to get 1 runesword also please do a luck mode max file.
@@Shin_FTW oh wow, i.... i have 2000+ hours of gameplay and i didn't knew anything about this
Play again using 99 luck stats
That was my first file before doing this run. I always choose luck mode normally since the low HP doesn't matter lol.
To the commentor who (I'm assuming) deleted their "You could have edited out all the organizing... no one care's" comment (I can still see it in my notifications), yeah I could have. It would've been far less work than adding in my text commentary at those parts. That means I left it in deliberately, especially since I edit out all my menu surfing in Saints Row IV.
I left it in to give a little insight into the kind of meticulous player I am (to add a bit of personality in my own way), and also to give people ideas of their own if they're finding their inventory annoying to sort through as well. It also gives me time to insert some text commentary without distracting from anything. For anyone who actually doesn't care about those parts, the right arrow key is very handy.
This should be called - Watch 8 minutes of me doing unnecessary stuff and comment on my organization, now featuring- Maramasa!
You find out 4 minutes and 3 seconds into the video where exactly to get one. At that point only the first 34 seconds is unnecessary for the Muramasa (but necessary for my run). Right arrow key is your friend. If you watch beyond that to see me actually get the weapon to drop, that's on you. That's unnecessary stuff on the viewer.
Ah, right, blame the VIEWER of you video for watching the unnecessary parts of your video. Got it.@@Shin_FTW
Once you hit the 4 minute mark and are told "This dude drops the Muramasa", why would you continue to watch me farm it (if you don't care about that) and blame ME for wasting your time?
Take accountability for your own choices. I had the courtesy to give the important information up front. If the farming part isn't what you wanna see, the CZcams Home button is right there. I showed me farming (which included sorting my inventory) in case anyone needed proof that the weapon dropped from them, but it's optional.
Bruh All u had to do is press square on your weapon to auto organize the menu the way u wanted it…
I tried to auto organize but it doesn't do it the way I want
Too bad the game content is so limited. Whenever I replaying SOTN I just farm crisaegrimm and goes BRRRRRRRRRR
I just never use the Criss and the game is 100x better.
@@H0VA well funny enough, the moment you replied my 6 month old comments and Iam playing SOTN with knuckle duster just for fun.
@@arifprasojo574 Haha same I have to play SOTN every year its a ritual for my fave game of all time. Right now I am getting the duplicator again though which is just as cheesy but I have not done it in forever. I will think of some weapon challenge runs after.
Use the randomizer in a PS1 emulator and the game it's replayable 100% every time.
The game's really fun if you equip say a Duplicator and use both a Mana Prism and Heart Refresh along with the Stopwatch to just abuse spells without doing weapon combat. You can use the Mana Prism and Heart Refreshes in conjunction for tactical invincibility too. I've a (poor quality) video for it. It's real fun :] Like being Dio.

Bros using lick mode... lol 😂😂😂
I used to use it myself, but with Luck Mode it's impossible to get every base stat to 99, and plus I found ways to bypass Death without Luck Mode. In fact, this version makes it so easy that there's no trick to it xP
@@Shin_FTW bro how do you get past death without being on luckmode?? ? I'm a newb 🤣😂
Depends on if you're playing on the PS4 version or not. If it is the PS4, no problems. If not, it might be hard to explain lol.
@@Shin_FTW I'm saying psx my bad . Do you know any ways on ps1?
That's a bit trickier. First off, you need to start off with a Neutron Bomb, which requires you to simply collect 15 extra Hearts in the prologue with Richter. Then, all you have to do is make it to the final hallway just before Death. You can choose to skip over the Wargs in the room if you want, but two things you ABSOLUTELY have to make sure of is 1) Jump over that final Warg before Death WITHOUT killing it, and 2) Make sure you are one kill away from leveling up when you do.
Next, equip the Neutron Bomb as you move yourself to the edge of the screen. Here's where it gets harder. You need to move left from the edge of the hallway (towards the Warg) until you see the screen start to scroll with you. Find out where that exact spot is that the screen starts to scroll. What you need to do is walk left and JUST as you cross that point where the screen starts scolling, you need to backdash and use your Neutron Bomb to kill that Warg and level up on the frame that you pass over that screen scroll point. Leveling up causes the screen to freeze-frame while Alucard can keep moving (like during a backdash), so the game is tricked into thinking that Alucard is further over than he actually is, a whole room further to be exact. Because of that, as soon as you walk into the room with Death, the game will "teleport" Alucard into the next room over to fix the alignment, skipping the cutscene entirely.
If you look up the Romscout vs Dacidbro SotN race for GDQ, they both perform this trick. It's not actually as hard to pull off as it seems. You just wanna level up while backdashing over that shift line so it flings Alucard past it. That's what the Neutron Bomb and Warg are for xP
WTF are perfect level ups?
Every stat increases in the level up, and you get the max HP, MP, and Heart too.
