THE CASTLE IS, IN FACT, A LITERAL DEMON.
Although it is the name of the game (in japan), it isn't just the name but a fact and explanation to why the castle is different in every game. Here is a quote from the game:
Maria : this castle is different than I remember it.
Alucard: This castle is a creature of Chaos. It may take many incarnations.
LegendaryOutcast ohh this also explains why when you return to a room there are new candles ans some things restaured into place
This is also why the castle can be Infected with parasites such as Legion and the litteral worm in Lament.
In Harmony of Dissonance you see the castle in an incomplete state as well.
So the castle is Draculas pet then? Dracula and Death must have some sort of communication with the castle Shaft too I suppose because Dracula was dead and trying to ressurrect Dracula during the events of symphony.
The castle has also been described as a machine. Demonic technology is something that can't be understood by mortal men, and it could very well be considered a living thing.
Aria had Chaos. The literal soul of castle
Fact: You will not be able to complete the bestiary if you did not kill a mudman summoned by the lesser demon. That one fight is the only instance where the mudman appears.
That happen to me the first time i played the game!!!
.....
WHAAATTT?!
do you mean the copy of the lesser demon or a literal mudman? I got my bestiary completed by killing Shaft and then hitting Dracula, then using a library card.
Mudman in library boss
This was the only fact I didn't know lol
Number 44 is incorrect. Alucard is not the first main playable character in the castlevania series who is not part of the Belmont Clan. anybody remember John Morris? Castlevania Bloodlines?
I was looking for this comment. Thank you!
@@Duncaster on that note, however, alucard debuted in the same game as Grant, thus, they basically tie, and they both came before John... Arguably, though, they aren't main playable ones, just playable ones, so John and Eric would debatably be more "main" characters than the others.
While John Morris isn't exactly from the Belmont Clan, he is supposedly a descendant and has the Vampire Killer to prove it.
There's also his friend Eric Lecarde, who uses the Alucard Spear. Also, there are Trevor's three allies in Dracula's Curse, Alucard included. And Maria Renarde in Rondo of Blood.
I get what you're saying, though. Alucard (in his SotN incarnation) is NOT the first non-Belmont playable character.
me
What about Eric Lucarde?!
Hiring Ayami Kojima was a fantastic decision. She has truly defined the aesthetic and feel of the franchise. Even though Konami eventually got other artists to change the art direction, Kojima's work is still most memorable and unique.
what is it with konami and kojimas?
it may be kojima but he aint no kojumbo

THE BEST GAME EVER. PERIOD.
I kinda agree for a playstation game. But I still think zelda ocarina of time is the best game ever.
Best game ever. So far
Itâs Tenchu for me
I wouldn't say thg the best, I don't think there is a "best game" because everyone thinks about it in a different way. But yes castlevania symphony of the night is amazing
@@gutsgriffith4549 Earthbound for me
The confessional room was so creepy and cool. I wanted there to be more to it. I would do it over and over and try and find more secrets.
I thought it was so sad when the ghost woman showed up to cry. I always wondered what tragedy tied her to that place.
And then the music...so calming yet eerie
"Die monster! You don't belong in this world!"
Yes, I still love it đ„đđ„
The ost of this game is WONDERFUL!!!
'they both share the surname 'tepes''
it's pronounced 'tepesh'
'tepezzz'
TEPESSHHH
You missed the Gradius homage when you equip the Shield Rod and do a quick Left - Right motion that makes the Shield Rod shoot forward Gradius' _"spinning cogwheel"_ shields.
JesĂșs AdriĂĄn Altamirano Uruñuela that was from gradius?! I always wondered wth that was and what it was for
It's the original shield from Gradius one. You can still get this shield throughout the series, but full barrier and reduce are much better options as they actually work like armor and lend to survivability increasing quite a bit, imo.
You forgot 2 more things about Gradius references.
1- Salamander Serpent ( Dragon )
2- Multiple Bats following Alucard's Bat transformation which behaves like the Options shadow type from Gradius.
3- I'm not sure if i can also count it as a reference but there is a sword in the game called Gladius ( Gradius in Japanese ) which appears in the next room right after you beat the first dimensional boss Doubleganger of Alucard.
been gaming since 1982 and this game is still in my top 5 today. it's timeless and i finish it once a year and each time it brings me back to the time when it was first released
I, too, started gaming in 1982. We've lived the evolution of gaming. From Combat! on the Atari 2600 all the way to Skyrim and beyond. I love stating this fact to young gamers.
This is one of my favorite games. I loved that it tricks you into thinking you completed the game, but you actually have to go to the upside down castle to win it. I enjoy the array the weapons and interaction with familiars. I'm glad familiars were brought back in another game later on. I like to call them vampire pokemon.
I cannot believe that this masterpiece of a game was discounted at one point. Me and my daughter who is in high school are still playing this game today in 2021 And it's holding up better than most games that came out around it's time.
How did you not mention that you can play as Richter if you beat the upside down castle and then name yourself Richter, or the luck mode cheat. unless you did and I just dozed off.
This, and when he said that Maria isn't a playable character, I was just waiting for them to mention that she is playable in the Saturn and Dracula X Chronicles version.... They could have mentioned the extra areas in the Saturn version too.
dsdom2 I was thinking the same thing
I think in japanese version not oly Richter but maria to is playable
Portrait of ruin? Anyone
@@q8k169 to be more specific in Sega Saturn version you can start the game as either Richter, Maria or Alucard without having to unlock the first two, and it's only released in Japan
Forever and always will be one of my favorite games of all time
Also pretty damn happy to see some facts on here I never knew about and I thought I knew just about everything about this lol
AlphaOmegaSin same here. Favorite castlevania game of all time.
I completely agree with you man.
Very good game
If you loved this game you should check out Bloodstained Ritual of the Night
He missed a huge number of facts, this game is so full of secrets that he didn't mention half of them. I know all the other ones he missed, some of witch were actually shown but not referenced.
A few corrections:
10:33 - The ferryman will appear so long as you have the mermaid statue regardless of weather or not you peered across the lake from the viewing room in the outer wall.
11:31 - You are always immune to damage when petrified except from creatures that have a petrifying attack. This will be the case regardless of weather or not you are a gargoyle.
12:04 - You don't need to pick up the Axearmor item to replay as the blue Axearmor guy. You just have to have beaten the game and then saved it. Then you can just start a new game with the name "AXEARMOR" and you'll be the Axearmor. That's good too because the Axearmor item is really friggin hard to get.
17:45 - "Playthrough" LoL they fought two bosses, wandered aimlessly and then ended the series at a random save point.
You can got axearmor by bumping librarian chair, you can got dracula tunic and second copy of ring of arcana too
Okay but Maria is playable in the Sega Saturn version, though this version was only released in Japan. You do not have to collect the Axe Armor to restart the game with it, you need simply clear the game once and name your file AXEARMOR and if you wish to play through the game as Richter, you can name the file RICHTER to do so once again after completing the game a single time, which allows you to fight all bosses that do not have a cutscene attached to them aside from Shaft who will be Richter's final boss, omitting Dracula. You also overlooked the fact that the Sega Saturn version of the game contained an additional area known as the Underground Garden and the Alucard Spear item, which is a weapon that appears a few times in other games of the series.
cool
the games working title was NOT the bloodletting ... thats the fan given name of the cancelled sega 32X game....
Then what was it?
You forgot about playing as richter belmont & Maria (in Sega Saturn version) & the exclusive content maps & soundtrack that came with it like CUSED PRISON, UNDERGROUND GARDEN, SOUL PRISON, HELL GARDEN (MAPS) & BLOODY TEARS (music)
the sad thing is the saturn version, which should have been superior in every way with the saturn being built for 2d, was worse than the ps1 version
Yeah, got an emulated version, wondered why it was so slow and if it was my system, but even on disc based gameplay, it was slow as hell.
This was quite a lot of stuff left out.
you can play as richter and maria on ps1, just use their names for your file name
Not as Maria on PS1. You could only play as Maria on the Saturn version and PSP versions.
Alucardâs movement is my favorite. So strong and graceful.
The Bloodletting was the fanmade name for a game that was meant to be the sequel to Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis. IGA has gone out and said that there was never any game name Bloodletting in development, however some of the sprites that was going to be used in the canceled game did get remade for Symphony.
This game is still one of my favorite 2D RPG's.
enjoyed the hell out of this game. one of my top 5 on PS for sure.
It has rpg elements.
@@Sulucion6Tone currently playing this on 10/27/2019 đŠđŠ
The OST is such a treat for the fans of those early days, and still is today. Everything from this game was mesmerizing when I was a kid - the characters, monsters, background, sounds, animations.
October 1997. I was 14 and had been a huge Vania fan (played them all) since the original nes one.
When I first popped this in on the PS1 I was euphoric and enraptured by it. Till this day still one of, if not the best gaming experience Iâve ever had. What a masterpiece of a game.
Yamane's first Castlevania work was Castlevania: Bloodlines for the Genesis. She didn't work on Rondo.
One of the timeless, all time greats! I can vividly recall the level of serious adrenaline I felt the first time I dropped into the inverted castle as a youngster playing it circa early 98. Man... to so easily achieve full immersion is such an underappreciated gift of youth!
"dark metamorphosis!! soul steal!!" 2 phases I love the most in this game
When my friends discovered the reverse castle, we were completely blown away! The excitement and craziness we experienced at that time are some of the greatest memories of all time.
5:14 Yamane's first Castlevania game she composed for was BLOODLINES, not Rondo. Also, she was well out of college by the time she composed for Symphony. She was "in her fourth year" when she joined Konami in 1988, her first work being King's Valley II.
The telescope thing is false, just a modern urban legend.. The ferryman appears no matter what..
Yeah, I was wondering about that. When I played, I tried all kinds of stuff to see if I could interact with the telescope, but couldn't get it to work. The ferryman was there when I needed him!
You can interact with the telescope. The myth is that the ferryman won't appear unless you do look through it. Obviously that's false as no game designer would make such a subtle detail a mandatory action.
Chase Bailey except castlevania 2. That ridiculous 1 minute crouch wait for a tornado to come pick you up.
I'll rephrase that, no game designer that knows what they're doing xD
I know that this has nothing to do with your comment, but your dog in your profile picture is so cute.
WHAT IS A MAN?
A MISERABLE PILE OF SECRETS!
but enough talk. have at you!
Ha ha ha!
YOU STEAL MENS SOULS!!
Sandwichy Could you try a different inflection?
"METRIOD" 5:56
Was wondering if it was a throwback to "prossess" or just a legit typo.
I love Symphony of the Night. It is artistically interesting. There's always more to discover. It's one of the most fun RPG games I've ever played.
I missed this game on ps1 but its bomb 10 out of 10 on Xbox 360 đđ
SotN was the like first game I downloaded on XBLA. No regrets
That game is so good that it has been relaunched on a lot of consoles, it was on the psn store for ps3 and ps4, also it was free with a castlevania retro game for the psp
I actually downloaded it by accident on the 360 while trying to download a different game. One of the best mistakes I've ever made.
Glad people still enjoying it. My only regret was no finishing a run with Ritchter, but I did one run with the duplicator and it was awesome to use pentagrams and other une use items infinite times.
I agree. I was real happy when they allowed back compatibility to xbox one. This game was the first arcade game I bought on the 360. Was my first playstation game and at the time it was also my very first castlemaina game. Alot of firsts for me. This game will always be one of my favorites but not my favorite cause that title belongs to legend of zelda ocarina of time. Anyways happy gaming bro have a good day !
You guys forgot when the bat falls in love with you, after a certain level, more bats join you
You can have up to 4-5 bats
Which behaves like the Options power up from the Gradius Series.
13:54 Oh damn! Is that a freakin' Jojo's reference?!
No, they just said it was got no reason.
Took me this long to figure it out! Even though I started watching Jojos last year, didn't make the connection!
Should be called 104 facts about Sotn since two facts talked about the Netflix series and one talked about a kickstarter game.
Zepher Tensho and a gameboy game
Netflix series TONIGHT!
GroundPoundable It was. . . Pretty good.
The only other time I've ever seen a show adaptation from a game that turned out okay was Kirby. I remember really enjoying that show.
Season 2 is only a few months away, packed with 8 episodes rather than 4 like season 1. CASTLEVANIA IS LIFE.
GroundPoundable literally the worst series I've ever watched. I've been a castlevania fan since I was 4. I've played every game. and even that wasn't enough for me to forcefully like this garbage. it was obviously written by children.
I really hope they continue with this series because season 2 was amazing
He also left out the luck code. X-X!V''Q
spelled out: ex, dash, ex, exclamation mark, vee, apostrophe, apostrophe, que. Enter this as your name and you will start the game with higher luck and the ability, with a bit of skill, to skip the first meeting with death and keep all your equipment.
Hahaha, i posted that glitch on GameFAQs YEARS ago, that's crazy lol wish i could pull the date but my username was ZakkWyldeT. lol
@@DanielRyanScott its actually both, the luck code drops your stats way low, while removing all the inventory except for the lapis and having the last warg knock you past the room with death that's where the glitch is. Also, if you don't save the game first and fall in the first pit on the top bridge you get stuck in an endless loop of falling.
if you time the warg hitting you properly you can skip it without the luck code and skip that death talk scene
@@bmcwarmachine111 bro I just used your cheat on Android! Finally making it through the game đ. I know that username lol
You thought it was Alucard all along but it was I, Dio xD
Castlevania could've had more dialogue!?
That is a very tragic loss.
You say Metroidvania, I say Castleroid
castleroid sounds like something you need a cream for
@@lavafoxx THANK YOU. I've been saying that for years. The proper terms are Metrovania or Castletroid.
Absolutely my favorite game. I fell in love with Castlevania as soon as I selected new game. The game itself is beautiful to look at, & I think it has one of the best soundtracks ever. I will NEVER get tired of playing this game
after you beat the game you can make a new save file named richter and you can play it again with richter belmont. you're welcome.
shadoguy1 HOW DID THEY FORGET THAT ONE! Also you can do a code for high luck allowing for really rare drops
Also, there are some awesome special moves as Richter that devastate enemies. Like the whip/blade dash.
8:04 Maria can be played in the game, but only on the Sega Saturn version of it
and phone versions
what about Castlevania Requiem's version of SotN?
Actually Maria IS a playable character in Symphony of the Night for Sega Saturn.
Also, his name is pronounced Vlad TAH-PESH.
Axearmor is unlocked by naming your character that... there is no armor set?
Quite a few of your facts are listed twice or just incorrect... I could list them all but honestly that's supposed to be your job, not mine! :D
Technically, the pronunciation of the surname used by Adrian and his father sounds more like "Se-pesh"; the T is pronounced more like a S at the beginning of ĆąepeĆ.
Yes! But, to earn the axe armor you have to beat the game first to unlock this function. Then you have to begin a new file with the name AXEARMOR. It will then be in your inventory to wear.
Nope, you can find the axe armor if you jump below the librarians chair multiple times. You get various items this way, if you do it more often, but I don't remember which...
the axe armor can also be dropped by the spike balls on the stairs by the reverse church if i am not mistaken, it is a very rare drop. I remember killing them over 300 times.
Just call Vlad Tepes The son of the dragon
The fact that there's even a JoJo reference Castlevania just blows my mind
@Empty nuts there is one...in aria of sorrow (to my knowledge)
Best Castlevania ever. I wish a multi disk saga would happen, in the same theme, 2d, with more playable characters with unique roles (knight, fighter, assassin, ranger, mage etc)
This is the first of these 107 facts videos I've ever seen, and it is awesome. Great work guys, subbed!
Such a classic game. Playing it inside out a lot even I learned a few things from this video. Thanks for making it
My favorite game of all times!
The song 'lost painting' was and still is my favourite song in any game ever
I fell in love with this game ever since rediscovering it.
And finding out it was first released on my birthday makes it even more exciting!!!
You never mentioned that Alucard is in fact Dracula spelt backwards đ
This was a truly awesome review to one of the best games ever! I probably would have mentioned the shield/weapon combos which can produce unexpected visions like the charging knight or the.. Cow?
+Louis Lipp glad you liked it and I hope you had a chance to check out the anime series on Netflix. We made it!
Take a drink every time he says "symphony of the night." đđ€Ł
Did you know that the giant door in the beginning and that passage in the ground that looks as if you can go down there, well originally it was suppose to be an area called underground garden but instead of scapping it, they just sealed it off. But theres a glitch to get down there but if you do it on ps1 or whatever other system it would be just a save room you can't actually save in. But on the Sega Saturn, it actually was a place not fully implemented but still had enemies and background designs. Crazy huh
U can save in the room.
Watching this days after Ritual of the Night was released. :3
How did you like ROTN. I just completed it last night and really enjoyed it. Cant decide if it's better than sotn, but it's a damn good game
@@jrvbamafan1 I love it despite some lagging issues (Which could be a result due to my potato laptop). Can be considered a recommendation for anyone who's looking for a Metroidvania feel. :)
Bloodstained is EXACTLY what we needed from Iga. Game is fantastic.
Its truly a masterpiece 9 out of 10 for me(ps4) but some of the lazy reviewers are speed running the game and giving it 6 and 7 out of ten.
My favorite game this year so far!!
Yes it is, even though my brother and I both run into the chest bug and had to restart, we're both still playing it.
@@AnthroFox99 if you talk fast enough to the NPCs you get that bug where you have to restart the game. :D
You can fight Gaibon in the area you first meet Death at. If you beat him, you never have to fight him later on.
âA deep storyline was cut because it would get in the way of gameplay.â
Thatâs nice of you to be so considerate, now put it back.
You missed the glitch map , "underground" was it ? in the front door of dracula's castle
BEST ART EVER. way to go Lady Kojima (not Hideo)
Nice video! Not sure if someone noted this, but a nice thing to know about points 73 and 74 is that I heard that there are audio samples of conversations that happen on those scenes inside the game's data, but the original game doesn't play them. However, they fixed that on the SotN version on Dracula X Chronicles for PSP. So it's not just random scenes where a priest gives you juice or a lady pierces you with a spear. You can actually hear a conversation before those things happen. That was part of the localization "issues" that they "fixed" from the original game. Including the famous Dracula and Richter lines at the beginning of the game.
Also, point #40 was fixed on the PSP version. So you can hear the dialog in English, unlike the original version where there is no dialog.
5:55 ah yes my two favorite video game franchises, MetrĂod and CastlebanĂa
That Netflix series is pretty good. Too damn short though.
I dont feel like the got dracula quite right tho....
@15:18 "What is man?"??? Its "What is A man?!" It says right there on the screen! Ok pedantic nerd rant over.
Danny Rose it irked me, too
I didn't know it didn't do too well in the US? I loved this game from the very first time I put it in the PlayStation! I've loved Castlevania since the very first game for the NES! I just wish I could do a follow-up to Castlevania Symphony the night, also in 2D! I've never been a big fan of 3D worlds! Give me a classic side-scroller any day, especially as beautiful as this one!
A few more facts:
1. If you preordered this game through Funcoland you got a free Castlevania music soundtrack CD. Although the cover of the CD looked just like the SotN cover, it actually contained music from previous Castlevania games and none from Symphony.
2. In the Japanese manual, the artwork for Succubus shows her breasts. While the NA release cropped them out.
3. In regards to Maria being playable: IGA wanted to make her playable in the original release but was not able to due to time constraints to get the game out. So when KCE Nagoya started working on the Saturn version, IGA put in a request to that team to make her playable.
4. There is more evidence that this game was rushed for release and incomplete. There is a stone slab on the floor in front of the entrance. In the PS version the only way to get under it is via a glitch. There is actually another save room down there. In Saturn version, this is how you access one of the two new areas.
5. In the inverted castle, there is an homage to the original Castlevania as well as Simon's Quest. In order to secure access to Dracula, you must collect the 5 "body" parts (heart, eye, nail, ring and rib) just like in Simon's Quest. These five pieces of Dracula are all looted from killing the original 5 bosses from the first Castlevania game: Vampire Bat (Darkwing Bat), Medusa, Mummy (Akmodan II), Frankenstein's Monster (The Creature) and Death.
Just remembered another fun fact: In Japan they actually released trading cards for this game.
Alucard was so hype in that netflix anime. From some viewpoints he looked a lot like how he looks in any of the Ayame Kojima illustrations of him and they even got that red outline his aura makes when he teleports.
May our Dark Lord IGA's game be good. I believe.
You can tell the animators were inspired by the SOTN version's design because it not only fit in with their version of the world, but it also meant that they didn't need to create the character design from scratch, just tweak it.
Nobody know's thaat Legion is also a boss in castlevania curse of darkness for ps2?
Zachary Gamer I fought it, so I appreciate the mention. It's a weird boss in any Castlevania it is featured in, as its either very hard, or very easy.
Here's something some of you may not know about this game. Some of the weapons have special abilities. I have the official strategy guide, and an unofficial strategy guide, and neither make mention of these abilities. The Wereblade would make several quick strikes if you made a quarter-circle forward motion before hitting the attack button (like making Ryu throw a fireball in the Street Fighter games). You can defeat most bosses quickly using this power. The Falchion can be thrown like a boomerang using the same quarter-circle forward motion. Many other weapons had special abilities, but it's been so long I don't remember the others.
This was my first Castlevania game. I bought several others when the PS2 was new thinking theyâd be similar. The older, previous games didnât do it for me. I returned them all. I shouldnât have started with the best but I didnât know at the time so I was disappointed when there were no levels, the background looked like legos, and I couldnât double jump.
Long live Alucard. đ€đŒ
I know how you feel starting the Elder Scrolls series with Skyrim and then trying Oblivion and feeling it was crap in conparison.
SONO CHI NO SADAME
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJOO!!!
SOTN and Rondo of Blood coming to PS4 on Oct 26th!
In case anyone missed this... Granfaloon also appears in Portrait Of Ruin as its Japanese name, Legion. The name is a misspelling of granfalloon, which is a collective of people who are manipulated into believing that they have some sort of connection to each other, despite such a connection being false or superficial. The word comes from Kurt Vonnegut's 1963 novel, "Cat's Cradle". It's a completely appropriate name for a monster made up of a collective of beings, and there is significant meaning to the nucleus underneath said collective.
âGekka no yasokyoukuâ is also a Japanese goth-rock band Malice Mizer song. Also in the music video, lead singer Gackt is dressed up similar to Alucard.
Maria IS playable, in the saturn version
20 years since it came out.
i replayed every game like 20 to 50 times over.
iga: i am anouncing a new game.
me : :O and i replayed bloodstained 6 times over already. normal-mage only- shooter only- boots only- whip only-katana.
You forgot to add the Axe armor can be gotten by jumping into the librarian underneath X times (100 times think? It'sbeena while).
Thank you, this has been informative. It deepened my appreciation for a game Iâve already been fond of.
I'm honestly disappointed that you didn't talk about the awesome Dragonforce song, that was made for this game.
X-X!V''Q was it? Not sure..
Correct.
Yep.
That Grandfalloon boss' name is actually really deep. It's a reference to Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slapstick. Hard to explain, but it's a word he made up, meaning a group of people pretending to be linked profoundly but the connection is false. Some real consideration was made in choosing this name, I think.
Alucard's shield mixed with the special move of the shield rod is the strongest weapon in the game. No only does it heal you as it damages enemies it absolutely murders the last boss of the game in a couple of seconds.
Actually, Tepes is pronounced "Tepesh" or even more accurately, "Tsepesh".
somebody please remake this for ps4
Why though? It's already practically perfect as is. The only way they could make it better is by adding in the extra areas, enemies, items and playable Maria that were only in the Japan exclusive SEGA Saturn version, and removing the load times like the Xbox 360 port.
i agree with the both of you
you can purchase it on psn for ps3, really wish they would add ps1 games on the psn for ps4
brett daily Yeah, but if you have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360, then I recommend getting it on the latter. The PS3 version is just an emulation of the PS1 version, but the 360 version is a port with no load times. It's a subtly huge convenience over the PS1/3 version.
There's literally no reason for a remake. I would just like the 2D castlvania games ported to PC if anything
I was so into this in my 17's that I sing the dialogues along with the characters every time i played it. And yeah even their tone too
Kojima's artwork is some of the best of all time. Her art book is amazing.

The Leaderboard well i was expecting about the body hanging from the outer walls because it is said that that body is of a belmont. Thanks for doing castlevania sotn!!
The Leaderboard great job on one of the greatest games ever.
for Easter eggs (ish), I believe Maria was playable on the Sega Saturn version.
Actually, Maria is a playable character... but only in the Sega Saturn version of the game. There's actually a good amount of content exclusive to the Saturn version that contradicts some of the stuff in the video... for example, the sprite actually does sing in the Saturn version.
There is a couple of easter eggs to be found in the Reverse Library. three of the enemies in there are a reference to "The Wizard of Oz" Namely the Scarecrow, Tinman, and The Cowardly Lion. Also there's an enemy in the Reverse Library who's a reference to an obscure Hannah Barberra character namely the Schmoo.
the schmoo bein' the guy that also drops the most useful sword in the game lol.
I love the game in its entirely, and I like your video about 107 thing that we should know about it. You did miss two aspects though:
1. Maria has become a playable character in CastleVania The Dracula X Chronicles and in the Sega Saturn version (Japan only), where you actually have to fight Maria as Alucard to get the Holy Glasses, as where in the US and EU version you just get them from her.
2. Also the Sega Saturn version has 2 extra areas filled with even more new enemies.
One of my all time favorites I hope that Konami will publish a 2D Castlevania game but with the latest graphic capabilities on the PS4 this game is sooo fun and have fantastic gameplay but the thing that I like the most about the game is that there are a lot of secrets one of the most memorable is with the right items worn the castle turns upside down and you could play a harder version with tougher enemies.
missed the best weap in the game the crissigram LOL
If you're playing this as an rpg, surely you mean the Muramasa? The "Crissaegrim" I think was intended for wimps :)
So nobody's gonna bring up the Jojo reference, huh? What a first
Arch Vile timestamp?
Arch Vile ??
You thought it was Dracula, but it was me, Dio!
How many peanuts have you eaten in your life?
13:53????
What is a JoJo?
A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF POSES !
You might want to do an updated list on this. Some of the things that some fans know as well.
1. The Lord of the Rings references.
2. The Wizard of OZ references.
3. The names of certain enemies.
3. The Muramasa's ability to get stronger becoming the strongest weapon in the game.
4. The ability to get the Axe Armor in the game from the Librarian along with Dracula's Tunic.
5. Even though the shield was not one of the greatest to equip, it did have msny secret abilities. And once you got the Shield Rod, you can combine it with Alucard's Shield to get the Cheesy Shield Combo, which is the best defense all together.
6. And what about when saving and restarting the game when selecting a file you have a chance at having Konami Man show up on that save file?
That was great. Still listen to the OST to this day. Great work, man.
