Nah, that was the offspring bloodline of the Joestars in a fated fight against a vampire, its source and original creators completely unrelated to Dracula.

The games actually explain why the Belmonts stop using the vampire killer . The same prophecy that predicted the battle of 1999 also said that they weren't allowed to touch the whip until said battle took place. Which is why they gave it to the Morris clan as they were distant relatives/descendants of the Belmonts.
Yep. Belmont cousins.
Also I believe it was said Richter's mind control tainted the whip and the belmont clan could not use it correctly
Hakumen_Narukami morning l
Cake# That's correct, too. But when Jonathan defeated Dracula, he lifted the curse on the tainted whip and unlike his father, it didn't kill him when he used it.
Jonathan then tracked down the Belmonts and returned the whip to them, and eventually it was passed to Julius.

Not gonna lie that sounds like it chould be the plot for the next Castlevania game... Now Konami has to get off there ass and slow down on makeing pachinko machines and make real video games
Great Castlevania timeline vid. There was only a few errors I found.
After Alucard defeated Dracula in symphony of the night, the vampire killer whip rejected Richter Belmont and, in extension, the Belmont bloodline because Richter’s soul was tainted when Shaft possessed him. This severed the connection between the vampire killer and the Belmonts. Jonathan Morris in Portrait of Ruin thus had to fight the whip’s memory of Richter, which unlocked the whip’s true potential and allowed the Belmont clan to hold the whip once more.
Oh and Alucard didn’t go back to sleep for another hundreds of years. Maria was able to convince Alucard to stay awake and watch over humanity when the time humanity needed him most, which was the prophecy of the Demon Castle War in 1999 and thus after. Alucard has been secretly building his organization to stop Dracula once and for all this whole time since.
Also, the Morris clan didn’t disappear. Once Jonathan found Julius, the last of the Belmont clan at the time, he trained him under his wing until he was able to master the vampire killer. Jonathan Morris thus lived a long, fulfilled life and didn’t disappear nor he or his clan had a tragic fate.
I have to disagree on couple of things.
The reason why Richter gave away the whip to the Morris Clan was because he was ashamed of what happened to him in Symphony of the Night. He used the Vampire Killer one year after the game.
The reason why Jonathan Morris fought the whips memory was because he couldn't access the power of the whip as he wasn't a Belmont. He had to fight the whips memory because it wouldn't work for anyone else but the Belmonts. Eric Lacarde or rather 'Wind' states this after his daughters were nearly turned into vampires and his identity was revealed as being the friend of John Morris, who is the protagonist of Bloodlines and is the father of the protagonist in Portrait of Ruin. John went through the process as Jonathan but died early as the wounds he gained from Dracula didn't heal properly as the whip essentially took part of his life in order to allow access to its power. The daughters of Eric ,also, state not to overuse the whip.
While the reason of why Richter and the clan vanishing has never been stated, it is implied to be that they found about the resurrection of Dracula and the presence of a solar eclipse in 1999 so it is likely they were getting ready to defeat Dracula once and for all
All of this information (Belmonts rejected by the whip because of the curse, Jonathan "unlocks the whip for the Belmonts", Alucard builds organization, Jonathan trained Julius) is headcanon. None of it is actually official, and some of it (Jonathan "undoing the whip's curse") actually contradicts official information.
@@Ash90 you got it rong because Rickter could not use the whip because of the his soul lost the power to control the whip because of him being possessed it was stated that way many times in the games and the guides books next time do some more research.:-)

Head canon isn’t canon, there is a difference.
I don't like the anime art on DoS. Castlevania's official arts has been beautiful and unique throughout the series but now it has fallen into a boring and unremarkable anime stereotype kinda art.
I’m always first and foremost a Zelda fan so I’m quite used to game art style changes but for Castlevania I really did love most of the old artwork and a lot of Ayami Kojima’s art for Castlevania, it suited the series very well. Though I don’t think the “anime style” is totally bad, I think Yoko looks way better in Dawn than she does in Aria for example. I find Soma’s design in Aria to be better than his Dawn one, is portraits anyway, his character sprite looks pretty cool in Dawn.

alucard is badass
OMG.. it took me this long to figure that out
Really? You just realized?!
Alucard's just lucky that his dad's name backwards spelled something legible.
I think castlevania is the only video game series with a good number of games where the villain has been virtually the same person every time

Mario
Phantasy Star (dark force)
Zelda and MARIO
Danganronpa then again it only have 3 games
He doesn't "kill" Isaac. He defeats him but stops when he realizes that his intent and anger are the result of Dracula's curse.
Quincy Morris is actually a character from Bram Stoker's Dracula novel. It's cool how the Castlevania series ties into the actual book

Dracula: IM BACK!
Vampire killer: no you’re not
Dracula:NO IM NOT!
14:16 I believe this is a reference to the book that technically started all this, "Dracula" by Bram Stoker as opposed to a video game. A character named Quincy Morris is part of a party led by Van Helsing to stop Dracula in 1897.
Ikr - she was all like "oh, there's no game depicting those events", well that's because it's in book form; the original Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Pretty cool how the Castlevania series is canon with the source material!
12:42 That's because Richter can no longer posses the power of the whip after his blood was tainted by Shaft's influence, incidentally doom the Belmont bloodline. The whip was passed to the Morris clan (distant relative) because they figure it out how to lift the Vampire Killer's curse.
17:01 Julius got the whip back from Johnathan Morris after the Vampire Killer's curse was lifted. As for the Morris clan they pass the torch (or in this case whip) back to the Belmont clan and continue on fighting monsters.
Richter’s Blood wasn’t tainted by his possession, because if it was, then the Belmonts would’ve lost the whip roughly 200 years prior when Soliel was actually possessed by Dracula himself. But they didn’t, because the curse was broken, much like with Maria and Alucard breaking the curse on Richter. Plus, Richter still had and used the whip with extreme proficiency a year later during the events of Castlevania: Nocturne of Recollection when the Incubus Magnus showed up and started causing problems, and he didn’t pass it off for being ashamed either, because again, in Nocturne of Recollection, he was still extremely proud of who he was and he was still proud of who his family was.
So, Rocuter giving the whip away because he was tainted by a curse is merely headcannon. Really the only thing we know about why the Belmonts passed off the Vampire Killer has something to do with the Nostradamus Prophecy, and it’s specific stipulation that the Belmonts would need to pass the reigns to somebody else so that they (the Belmonts) could prepare for the Demon Castle War (which took place in 1999).
Dracula: I REJECT MY HUMANITY! LEON!
My favorite Castlevania game has to be Aria of Sorrow. I just love the ability the player is given to control the powers of monsters and absorb monster souls in addition to all of the different kinds of other weapons Soma is able to wield in the game. Inheriting the powers of Dracula makes the game a ton of fun. I also like the fact that there are multiple ending possibilities in the game: the good ending where you destroy the castle and return to your normal life, the bad ending where you become consumed by Dracula’s power and Julius finds you on the throne ready to fight you, and the ending where you defeat Graham and return to your normal life without having destroyed the castle.
However I will say that I am also quite fond of Harmony of Dissonance, the map is complicated and large in that game and I like the idea of there being 2 castles.
Purchasing the Castlevania Double Pack that includes both of these GBA games in one game cartridge was a choice I do not regret.
"YOU NOW PROSSES DRACULA'S RIB"

Dracula: *breath*
Belmont: I'm about to end your career, revive yours again and ending it again
I know this may sound mean but the attempts at humor... were not so good.
BUT the parts that actually told the chronology were actually quite good. I know some deets were skimped but given that you don't wanna make an hour long video or a documentary series, skimping deets had to be done.
There are some issues tho around after SotN. Like what happened to the Belmont clan.
There are actually two theories iirc where: 1. Richter no longer felt he or his clan were worthy to wield the Vampire Killer after having been responsible for resurrecting Dracula., or 2. Richter's soul was tainted after being used by Shaft to resurrect Dracula and was hence was rejected by the Vampire Killer. Regardless of which of the two is more widely accepted or correct, the Vampire Killer was given to the Morris clan for safekeeping.
In response to this, Alucard remained awake this time and did not sleep again because he realized Dracula's threat was stronger than ever without the Belmonts around so after 1797, he has been working behind the scenes to find all the remaining vampire hunters around the world and to help train and fund them. I think by Aria of Sorrow, he like owns a business or an organization of some kind.
Now in the Demon Castle War, to explain why the Belmonts returned, basically and from what I can recall from the chronology, Jonathan Morris (lead of Portrait of Ruin) found Julius Belmont to finally be able to wield the Vampire Killer once more and then trained him for the upcoming war in 1999. It is said that Julius eventually became the most powerful Belmont to have ever lived and wielded the Vampire Killer. To get a good idea, he's probably the most (or second most) difficult boss in Aria of Sorrow. AND HE WAS IN HIS 50'S FOR PETE'S SAKE! You DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT wanna get into a fight with Julius.
One more minor thing, Chaos is actually the source of Dracula's soul's power but I understand if you meant that Soma, with Dracula's soul infused, now has the Chaos inside of him. It's a matter of semantics, really.
Circle of the moon is canon in my heart :,(
I dunno why CoTM is not canon, atleast Castlevania Legends and Lords of Shadows have a reason why they're non canon.
Castlevania Legends is also non-canon just because they decided that they don't want a woman Belmont. Completely ridiculous.
@@darthpaul99 actually it contradicts the Timeline way too much, because Sonia and Alucard gave a birth to Trevor, that means every Belmont after them would be connected with Dracula.
@@raiandox The team who made CoTM wanted it to in its own timeline, they never wanted it to be part of the main timeline. They say this in
Konami Magazine Vol 20, March 2001
So yeah that's why.
@@darthpaul99 Iga said it's cause the game sucks and he's ashamed of it, he also did this with the Saturn port of SotN when making the Psp port with features from there being removed, I guess it's cause he's Japanese that he apologizes that much over bad games, at least I think this is the reason.
6:52 Technically, Hector isn't a Belmont, but surely the first non-Belmont who defeats Dracula.
Symphony of the Night is my favorite Castlevania because of Alucard, then Curse of Darkness. I found Hector to be somewhat similar to Alucard, and that 's why I loved it. I also liked that they weren't confined to just the whip as a weapon.

It's not that Lords of Shadow isn't canon.
It's an Alernate Reboot universe.
Aye a really good entry as well, let's not speak of the 2nd game though. Lol
@Doom Slayer Mechanically perhaps, but story/game design wise? Nah.
@Doom Slayer I can definitely agree the castle bits and the Alucard DLC were the best parts, and honestly that whole series Garbriel (Dracula) is a good guy.
Dealing out death perhaps, but doing so for the sake of the greater good.
@Doom Slayer Pretty much the rest of it. lol
Doom Slayer Dracula is the good guy in AoS and DoS though, it's just his fanboys just won't stop bothering him, asking him to become the Dark Lord again even though he just wants to be a Gaijin transfer student in Japan cause he got tired of being killed again and again.
14:11: I know there is no game for this part, but the fact that Quincy Morris defeats Dracula definitely connects Castlevania with the original Bram Stoker story. The game makers actually say that Bram Stoker's Dracula is actual canon in the timeline. Perhaps this is when it took place! (Edit) - I just read the description in the video, and it matches almost perfectly with what happened to Quincy Morris and Dracula!
Draculas castle has been destroyed more times than the hall of justice
I'm here because Konami announced a Castlevania Anniversary Collection 😍
We don't know if the "good" ending of Dawn of Sorrow is the real ending.
The series could have ended with Soma corrupted and continuing with the Julius mode.
Awesome vid; complete break-down of key events, and great presentation by Jetset... only wish Eric Lecarde got mentioned for POR, as I feel his role there was far more imperative.

Can we just give mad respect for John using the Vampire Killer to defeat Dracula while he was getting his life sapping away
I love how the Belmont’s were able to return
you did this great and amusing1 i am just getting into the series and this vid showed me why that was a great thing to do.
Let's be real, the dormant soul of an immortal dark lord inside an anime high schooler is a ticking timebomb!
Hello, I just want to provide some insight, but when you say Castlevania 64 is not cannon, you are wrong, it was originally retconned from the series along with Legacy of Darkness, Circle of the Moon and Legends, but eventually Legacy of Darkness and 64 were readded to the cannon while Legends and Circle of the Moon were not
Kinda, the 64 games and Circle of the Moon were made by teams that wanted these games to be elseworld stories and thus the games are left out of the main timeline, they were really never retconned. If I recall correctly, Iga wanted Circle of the Moon to be part of the official timeline and it was for some time, but he was asked by the developers of the game to keep it as an alternate timeline and he obliged.
The 64 games and Circle of the Moon are canon, but canon to their own timeline. Castlevania legends wanted to be in the main timeline but was retconned by Iga due to story inconsistencies.
@@LealFireBall I think He's talking about the Portrait of Ruin timeline, which came with that game's pre-order. It inexplicably listed the 64 games and CotM as part of the timeline, but didn't explain why they were there. If I recall it also came with a booklet that had a picture of Legends... very strange.
SO MANY GAMES!!! AND I'VE ONLY PLAYED THREE!!
They were Lament of Innocence, Symphony of the Night, and Portrait of Ruin. I also watched the anime. SO GOOD
Thanks for this!
You should mention that we're still waiting for a gaming featuring the events of 1999.
If symphony of the night was a part of the Netflix series
Alucard: how the new Belmont
Richter is cursed
Alucard: for fucks sake even that idiot Trevor didn’t fuck up this hard
Now if Aria of Sorrow is animated next
Alucard : "Father , why have you become a Japanese kid ?"
Soma : "Who the hell are you ?"
im back and honestly this video helped me to understand better the chronology in nocturne!!
I was always under the impression that Dawn of Sorrow's Cannon ending was the one where Soma turns and Julius is forced to kill him. Seeing as it's stated as getting that ending unlocks a whole epilogue about Julius killing Soma.
Castlevania = Kill Dracula + Dracula reborn 😒
Julius Belmont solved that problem in 1999. 😎
@@gjtrue Julius = best Belmont
_Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls_ has been quite interesting. The characters and settings from previous CV games get made manifest through a research lab's magic, so you have Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont (of which Simon was taken aback to hear that _he_ was actually considered the greatest Belmont), Alucard, Charlotte, Maria, and Shanoa, all together! On top of that, there are 2 versions of Maria! One from when she was 12, and another when she's 17!
It's got a lot of gameplay and storyline than one would ever expect from a mobile game. However, it got yanked from Google Play and is now an Apple Arcade exclusive. Even though AA doesn't allow ads nor IAP, it can get grindy. Worth it if you can put up with it, but that's a big "if".
wow netflix hector is nerfed i never knew that he was also a protagonist
6:56 is my favorite part. Hilarious. Saved this whole video for me.
