You passed my home. Pacific coast highway @ Western Dr. Right as you come into the city of Santa Cruz. Be very careful between Greyhound Rock and Santa Cruz, tons of CHP.
My in laws came from here and retired to a home in Apple Valley Utah. Outside Hurricane, Utah. I have a Whipple charged 2018 Shelby gt350 that I drive on the coast highway. I have tried to track it @ Laguna Seca but they deny me because the car is too loud??

no matter how electric cars progress, It will never replace the feeling of a combustion engine and a manual transmission for me. the sights the smells, the sounds and the feel is all too good.
PCH is really just a cruising highway. Lean back and enjoy the scenery.
Did that road in 2016, my first ever trip to USA. Loved it, hope to see again someday. Great video production guys 👍🏻

PCH south of the bay is amazing but like you said, lots of traffic. If you really want an experience go north! North of the bay, go west at Santa Rosa to Bodega Bay then run up the coast. Go mid week and you'll not have much traffic at all. When the road turns inland going to Leggett you will be in for sports car nirvana. That section is only about 20 miles but it's the west coast tail of the dragon. Of course, continuing up to Oregon and Washington is worth the extra miles if you have time.

C7 was and is a revelation. C8 is a revolution but I long for the C7.

I've been to Laguna to watch Indy Car a few times and it was awesome. Great to see you guys having a blast on the track. Cheers. I've lived in Utah for a few years now and those are some of the things I do miss. I love the Wasatch and Timpanogos Ranges though.

For my 30th bday (in January) I finally got to cross off driving down the PCH off my list. We rented a convertible Mustang GT and it was amazing! The road wasnt busy at all and at certain sections the views were so beautiful even I was driving slow. lol. I would love to do it again on a Motorcycle.

19:30 There’s me & my FB RX-7 (no longer owned) with the hood up because Porsche drivers were excited by it and wanted to see the engine... I’d have much rather been driving their cars, but they all cost quite a bit more than the $3k I spent.
Great video! I hope you guys drove at least some of the PCH with the top off. That's one of the greatest parts of the C7Z... its like two cars in one.

Several years ago I was dumb enough to buy an inexpensive 850i, but I was lucky enough to drive it up and down PCH (and on the beach at Pismo!) during the time it was working perfectly. An experience beyond words.

I grew up on hwy 1. It has another side. If you catch it late at night, it's a foggy, terrifying drive that is pretty much vacant.
Head north out of S.F. at Sunset on Sunday night or take 5 up to Eureka and 1 south from Eureke early morning and you get big chunks of open road.
South of S.F. it's way too crowded these days and very few people obey the law and pull over in slow vehicles. Police don't enforce that law either.

On highway 1 I once had to pass someone, find the next turnout, then park and stand behind my car waiting for them so I could tell them to pull over. There were 20+ cars stuck behind them.

I just bought (5/22/2023) a 2016 Z06 3LZ convertible in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. It is incredible, and I have owned a C4 ZR-1 and a 2011 CTS-V I love this Corvette! Thanks for the video!
I bought a 2019 manual coupe brand new. I loved the car, it was an animal. Came from a 991 911 Carrera S and loved that car too. Just complete different animals. The 911 was a scalpel and the Z06 was a hammer. I never got to push the car to what it was capable of on the road. I’m still upset I didn’t do the Ron Fellows driving school that GM offered. Sold the Z a few years ago. I miss both of those cars
And to think..the ONLY time I've had the opportunity to drive PCH...is in my father's old Buick....the typical old "sofa on wheels" driving experience. Was a somewhat scary experience with vague steering and wallowing suspension....need to do it again...in my current 230i BMW and truly experience/enjoy the experience
Great video guys. Here's a note to everyone, if you ever get the chance to drive one of these cars, do it, you won't regret it. The Carbon 65 Z06 is honestly one of those cars that you simply dream about as there are sooooo few of them around these days.
I got a full loaded 2015 Z with paddle shifters and this is more fun than my GTR! I’m always grabbing the Vette keys when I leave the house.

Great Video. You really captured the essence of the PCH, both the good and bad. If you had to choose a daily driver/track car, would you rather have the Vette or the yellow Lotus?
Seeing you drive laguna seca i understand the elevation difference of the track is really not expierenced in games. Great car to own.

Hard to get long stretches without traffic, but PCH is really a great road.
Check that, Rider. As a motorcyclist, I've ridden it 9 times. Back in raging 80's even. Cages will never ever experience like a good motorcycle will.
Great episode, but how can you guys make this whole show and not take the top off the Vette? I know there are sound issues etc but the removable top is one of the defining features of this awesome car.

Do it anyway. The Sienna is a great vehicle. My ex used to drive one. Absolutely changed my view on minivans.

I have a 2009 sienna. It has nearly 300 HP. Put your foot down and it will move.

Todd, you should really not brake coming over the front straight. A lift, if you are scared, is fine. The person behind you does not want to see brake lights as you disappear over the Crest. No brake lights until T2. I am a driving instructor at laguna.

Costs;-)? Still a great car..a very great car.
These are the competition seats. $3k upgrade over the standard GT seats. I have them in my Z and can attest that they are great.

Yes, I forget what they both do but I think one was sport mode and the other is auto rev match.
Rubik3x the paddle shifters turn rev match on and off. The stick shift is a...regular stick shift, but with 7 gears! 7th is useless af -Z07 manual owner lmao

The only cars that will touch the z06 are cars over 250 k and the c7 z06 manual will be a collectable and will appericate in time this will be a 170k car in ten years

Yes. We do an annual all-inclusive trip called “Pilgrimage” that gets drivers of all levels on track at the Ring and Spa.

Disagree. You can’t get a manual trans in a C8 Z06. There were only 1500 or so manual trans C7s made. The clean ones are still bringing good money. Especially with supply issues on the C8 Z06.
Why does this manual trans appear to have paddles?
Strange isn’t it! GM used one steering wheel so the paddles shift in the automatic cars, and toggle the rev-match on and off in the manual cars. Thanks for watching!

Driven those exact roads many times in a 911 porsche.
porsche911 same here but once in a 1997 Grand Am and again in a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. 😂 need to do better next time although the ram was actually pretty cool as we took some detours on some dirt roads plus it was nice to pull off wherever and whenever you wanted to catch a good view of the ocean. Plus you are finding the limits much quicker. 😁

I like the car but still hanging onto the round lights. I wouldn't pay 100k for that edition. I hope ICE cars never go away. EV's are nice but not as fun period. I am looking to buy a C7 Zo6 maybe a C8 and will keep it until I pass from here.
I bought my C7 Z06 2 months ago. Don’t worry about the tail lights. You never see them unless someone steals your ride! Good luck on your search for your dream car.

The Z06 on the C6 looked good. The C7 Z51 looks better than the Z06 because the front black plastic widebody wheel liners and the aero pieces are all pretty aftermarket looking and tacky. Just the Z06 grille and rear quarter vents look better.

No the styling sucks just as much now as when introduced. Too much plastic grilles, Too Camaroish tail lights, Too cheap an interior. Pass....but California remains the most beautiful State.
