So as an elder fitness statesman here...I'm probably old enough to be Josh's dad...one of the two most important elements of fitness as you age is brought front-and-center in this video (and all his others, for that matter): Mobility. Kudos to you, Josh.

Lately I’ve noticed how much stronger/more dominant the right side of my body is and how it’s affected my lower back specifically. Therefore, I’m trying to implement more functional workouts with emphasis on my left side to hopefully wake those muscles up and get them to catch up because the imbalance is frustrating. Your videos have been really helpful and motivational for me since I was starting to feel hopeless and uninspired at the gym. I’m gonna start stretching more and following your body weight routines, some of which are pretty challenging. Anyway, that was just a long spiel about how I appreciate your content!
I have been following your workouts and I have gotten so much stronger, more flexible, and my knees feel amazing! You’re my role model! Keep up the amazing content, so inspiring and motivating.
We need a full day of eating video. What do you eat, because it is and important role of your physique. Love the channel, keep pushing forward with more videos. 🤙🏾
My parallettes look the same! Thanks for reminding us that practice makes the master and that less is more to develop the most functional full body strength.
This is a great workout. I like it a lot. I tried the warm up and felt great to go into heavy squatting which is what I'd call a strength workout. For those open open to feedback, this is not a true and true strength program, as it is not progressive overload in it as described. I think this is effective for many people and will produce good results, just not Strength
Excellent channel! I really like what I have seen so far. I have an alternative for leg curls for people who don't have access to rings for their workout. You can place your feet on a Swiss ball if you have one, or simply use a household item that will slide across a smooth floor like a towel, a frisbee, or sliders used for moving furniture if you have any of those lying around. You can't make the same adjustments for tension with those like you can by moving to different positions under the rings, but the closer your feet get to the floor the more difficult the leg curls become. What I mean by that is that leg curls on a smaller ball are more difficult than on a larger ball, and leg curls done with a towel or furniture sliders on the floor itself are more difficult than leg curls on a ball. Once again, you have some really great content!
Wish I could do some of these, but I need to keep 90 degree compliance, When I tried deeper weightless squatting, I added patellar tendinitis to a bad knee w/ no ACL and very worn medial meniscus. All that said, if I had begun my training before my injury (40 yrs ago- I’m 59), I would recommend deep knee bends and movements away from arbitrary right angle compliance to build knee/ankle strength and flexibility. It seems like it’s too late for me, but for the healthier folks, train on!
I like listening to your commentary while I'm working... keeps me focussed, strangely. Great video, short and sweet I can realistically squeeze in between meetings
pro tip :10 minute long cylcing sprints .do them 2 -4 times a day and your quads are gonna be big . when i was at 150 lbs my quads were at 25-26 inches
Been trying the sissy squat. Its beyond my current level but I like the idea of just going down with it and then breaking out of it to just pull yourself up. This way I can see myself doing a full range sissy squat in the future. Thanks
@@Strengthside I never been in medellin, I'm from cali but many people is talking about medellin even some Americans are moving in there... Also I lived in usa.. Thanks for replying..
Been checking out the ongoing discussion. Simply put, you're not gonna get a competition bodybuilder's physique if you only do these movements. If that's the goal, then stay in the gym with the heavy weights. As for myself, I love the creativity, joint enhancement and muscle building ( and challenge) that these movements provide. Keep up the great work Josh!
As always got some new inspiration from the video. I’m trying to find that balance between lifting heavy in the gym and doing body weight and stretching work to feel good. Your channel definitely helps!
Hey there I absolutely loved everything you're doing and getting functional bodyweight strength back into the game. I'm curious if all these bodyweight exercises are all you do or do you also supplement with other types of exercise or training? thank you very much for all the time and effort you're putting into putting out these excellent videos Man. your follow along stretching routines have really helped me on a daily basis just feeling better and looser all around which just helps out in all facets of my life so thanks man
Great video! Excited to try some more of these workouts. Any chance you have a video discussing what you do on a 'weekly' basis in terms of volume and exercises?
💪 I'll throw that on the list of to-do vids. In short 2x week Legs 3-4x week upper body strength. Mobility and movement sessions 4x week. It's a lot but I enjoy it.
Cool! I have been doing cossack squats before I go out for a run early in the am, because my adductors and quads are so prone to being tight. It feels nice to start out with limited motion and then feel it increase as things warm up. Now I have some more exercises to help enhance my quad strength, which will take a lot of the strain off my knees (I hope) and maybe even get rid of some of the more stubborn bodyfat.
Wow, I love this! Your vids, everything about them, are the BEST!! I don’t have rings for the last exercise, but I used my big exercise ball- Lying on my back, holding my body up with my legs straight & feet(heels on ball, then when I feel stable, I roll heels to bottom of foot rolling ball toward my bum, not to touching, and then push back out to starting position. Thanks for such creative & effective exercises 🙌😃
Many thanks 🙏 for quick reply I have been doing some exercises that my physio therapist showed me to do But i still find difficult to sit on the floor and get up without holding on to something I love your all the uploads So good 🙏👍
Great content the sissy squat teqnique was great for me finally found the proper technique and really does take all the strain off the knees keep up the great content thankyou!

You're amazing man. I love all of your videos. Feel much better after doing your exercises. I also like your shoes in this video. I only wear zero drop shoes with wide toe box. What's the brand of those?
Is this helpful for sprinting and jumping strength as well? And what would you recommend if you are more advanced in leg bodyweight training - I personally want good strength (functional) and aesthetic muscle but not too huge ones

Try to be barefoot as much as is possible while exercising. It will improve balance and strengthen one's feet immensely
aint that the truth
That Cossack Squat is legit! I play tennis and can see how that will strengthen my legs and help prevent injuries from quick lateral movement.
It definitely will!
I need to add this, I want to strengthen my MCL after an injury I had.
