I'm more impressed at how you were hitting the steel while hip firing.
Fired the 22 Charger this weekend. Got a 2pak last Christmas. Which brings me to 5 mags. Had the 1 mag fail last Saturday. Took it apart this morning. We'll see how she runs. Thanx for the video. Nothing better than plinking with the family on a beautiful Iowa day.
nice little 10/22 - gave one to my dad for father's day this year. I have 4 of the BX-25s and I don't use much, I like the little flush 10 round mags personally, as they were the innovative thing for the 10/22 back when it was introduced (65?)
Thanks for the video, nice little cabin !
wildmanjeff42 That's a heck of a nice thing to do for Father's day. Thanks for watching my video.
I just got home with my brand new Ruger 10-22 and two brand new BX-25 magazines.
Right out of the box - neither msg will feed. The 10 round that came with the rifle feeds nicely.
I’ll figure out what I’m doing wrong but the excitement of finally getting a specific rifle I’ve wanted for over 25 years is bleeding off fast.
The issue you're having with the BX-1 10 rd mag not feeding correctly is the issue I have with brand new BX-25 mags.
I completely agree, I have not had any faults due to my 3 BX25's. I highly recommend them as well. Cheers
stanfordcoffee Thanks, I'm glad your findings back up mine. I have been seeing/reading a lot of negative reviews on these.
The RPR .17 HMR comes with BX-15 magazines.. does that mean the BX-25 would work for the .17 HMR as well in the ruger precision rimfire 17?
Thanks for the education, friend. From what I understand the problems with the BX-25 seem to have more to do with the kind of ammo you use. Guess I’ll go with the Remington like you did. Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I still use the BX-25 mags regularly and haven't had any problems.
So, I purchased a new out-of-the-box 10 22 3 weeks ago. Have not even had the opportunity to shoot it yet, but but was that Bass Pro Shops yesterday and looked over and lo and behold they had some Ruger mags. I purchased another 10 round mag and a package of 2 25 round mags. I cannot for the life of me get the 25 round mags to lock into my gun. What am I doing wrong? I tried both of them it is as if that little pin on the end will not lock in
Thank you for sharing this information helped a lot.
Holly cow! I just noticed you have your 10/22 set up with the same sights and stock more or less then I do. Mine is the all weather version stainless steel with the Hogue OverMolded stock and the exact same sights The new BX15 is a nice magazine also my wife uses them on her Charger they are a nice size.
Wow, those sights on mine are Tech Sights and I love them! I think they give it a little bit of an M1 look and of course a great sight picture. Love the stainless look on the 10\22s as well. I meant to mention the BX-15 and also the 25x2 but when my brain hears the camera turn on it turns off.....
Great vid man! I like the Bx-25 mags!
Jarhead6 I do too. I always thought the biggest issue with the 10/22 was that there wasn't any reliable magazines available to bring it up to a more normal capacity. 10 rounds is fine for hunting but I was spending way to much time loading mags on range trips.
I fall into the category of "I can only dream of owning one" due to our wonderful state laws...Good vid...
Scott F. That's a real shame Scott. It really bothers me that there are states right here in the good old US of A that would put a limit on the number of rounds a man can carry in a magazine. It's a sad thing.
Very sad but it is what it is as we can't have half the fun guns that the free states can have... I live thru you guys so keep making them vids...
I just bought my first ruger, the bx25 that came with it is horrible ,will not shoot 10 rounds without jamming,I purchased two new ones, they shoot fine. I have the bushing kit,but I’m calling ruger before I try to modify it.Nice Video.
Let me tell you I experienced the same exact situation with the bx25 nothing but Misfits terrible terrible the 10 round magazine works perfectly in the bx25 my thought is that it's the follower and also the spring it doesn't have enough attention to feed the rounds properly
Just the other day i saw people in the commits complaining about the BX mags and I've never had a problem either. Hopefully i didn't just jinx myself because last week i bought a BX-25X2 that i haven't shot yet, lol Good job/video Buffalo
***** I don't have any of the X2 ones to try out. But I don't see how they would perform any differently.
If you keep your gun clean? And clean out the magazine any problems will be minimal.....nice video. Thanks for sharing this.
The BX25s that I have won't work right if I leave them loaded. I can't even load them the night before and go to the range the next day, or did they'll fail to feed. They do fine if I load them at the range and use them shortly after. Ruger's customer service is great, but the replacements I received weren't any better.
Well that sucks, sorry to hear you are having these issues. I don't usually leave these loaded but you have me curious to see how mine do. I have a dozen of these now and never had any serious issues.
Well, after testing it with different ammunition leaving it loaded, it seems like it only has this problem when loaded with hollow points. I can leave it loaded with round nose ammo with no problems now, but it still has problems if i leave it loaded with hollow points. I do not know if this problem is isolated to the federal hollow points i use, or if it does this way with all brands.
The only time I ever had an issue feeding with the BX-25, is when the rifle gets REALLY dirty. So just clean your rifle properly, .22 lr is a dirty round. I have three BX-25's, and all feed properly in a clean rifle.
What gets me is a 10 round mag is like 25 busk and a BX25 is 29$. So I get the BX
i luv my bx-25 mags, especially the x 2 mags which holds 50 rounds.
Yes, I actually meant to mention the BX-25X2 and the BX-15 but once the camera starts rolling my mind goes numb.....lol
Does it take .22 magnum? I own a ruger American.22 wmr
ruger makes a BX-15 Magnum, but not a bx-25
tyler roberts thanks
They seem to perform very well..No malfunctions here either
***** Thanks, I've been reading a lot of negative comments on these lately, your experience mirrors mine. No problems.
Hey Buffalo, really love your videos. Not sure if you've already been asked , but have you considered doing some milsurp reviews ? Think it would be really great to see a Mosin/ Springfield or Enfield in action in your posts! Keep up the great work
Brett Nash First off, thank you. I appreciate the comment. I would love to do more of those type of videos. The reason I don't do many center fire rifle videos is that I only have a pistol range set up, I have about 40 yards to shoot from. Now sometimes I you will see me shooting 180 yards with my 22 rifles but I don't like to do that with my centerfires, it puts me closer to the neighbors. So when I do a centerfire video people criticize at how close I am to the targets so I kinda pulled away from doing those very much.
No complaints with mine either!
joey owen That's great to hear!
Yes sir it is. God bless.
I'd rather buy a new magazine than take one apart to clean it.
Why is there a Biden commercial. He wants to get rid of magazines of this quantity.
They are trash mags do not run 25's
