Keep this drummer.
Scott Graham they’ve had this drummer for years
he's been with them longer than any other so I think they're keeping him :)
No Brandon was with them for about 4 years whereas Clay has only been here for 2 so far lol
I prefer Brandon, feels like when Brandon left they went soft and their style changed.
Noah Mortola that’s what I meant.
As I drummer myself, I can tell you that this drummer is right at the "I hate him" level of skills

So, uh, who else thinks these new Polyphia songs are better than anything else they've done in the history of ever? I've never been that big of a fan of the band to be honest, but hot damn I am seriously stoked for this new album!

I love renaissance and most hated. This is better imo tho. Cant wait to see what else they release.

Human music, I like it.

no, it is from the devil.. and hot the fun kind.. more like the baby eaters kind
Its like the devil asked them if they would rather be technically and fundamentally brilliant or have an amazing sense of feel and arrangement. Then he listened to them and said "fuck it, you get both".

1:39 soooo good
2:08 that drums part kills me
2:22, those triplets are heavenly
Everything on New Levels New Devils is phenomenal, but I want shout out to the filmography for the videos for G.O.A.T. and this track:
-The lighting throughout each section of the song sets the mood perfectly
-The main hook starts with the shot with tropical plants and edgy, high contrast lighting which supports the latin flare
-The creative rotating shot at 0:56 fits the "dizzy" feeling of the section
-The main hook comes back at 1:14 in a setting suggestive of murder with butcher knives, blood spatter, and a noose. The section ends on Tim in a "killing room" at 1:34 which alludes to the next section ->
-The bridge at 1:38 is one of my absolute favorite moments on the entire album. Another comment referred to it as "backstreet boy-sounding," it sounds like that because it is an incredibly catchy, buttery, fly ass fucking hook. The change of setting to "sexy" but deformed mannequin figures with "passionate" red lighting and blood indicating decapitation nails the sultry, dark feel to the hook. I think Tim "murders it" with the hook in this bridge, and I think the video is shot with the same idea in mind. The direct transition of the shot from Tim in the "killing room" to the shot of the headless mannequin with the noose supports my sentiment. The continuous shot through the crowd of mannequins to focus on each member as their part drops in to the bridge is just genius and beautiful, and I also appreciate the use of the shadowed mannequin to cleanly transition back to the drummer at 2:00
-Even the little forward/back reverse during the bass part at 2:24 where Clay plays an accented quarter note pattern of the same bass note that has a "bounce back" feel to it is an appreciable subtle detail
The best part of the video is all of this artistic styling is done in such a non-intrusive way. It isn't pressed or obnoxious. The focus is clearly on the band members and their playing, but there is perfect environment and editing to support the emotional and stylistic changes of the song.
This comment is underappreciated.
This should be top comment. Very nice analysis! The creativity in this song and video is immense.
Nice psuedo intellect flex
You wanna elaborate on the trashcan that's the music video of Euphoria now? Tensed to see this abomination justified.
Inspiring break down
Polyphia: "Alright for this one we want you to hang a bunch of baby doll heads from the ceiling with fishing line, and a bunch of bleeding mannequins with nooses."
Entire design team: "......... Ok..."
TheWishingPig They're satanists, there are background influences that they don't control
TheWishingPig Tim said the video was inspired by a bad acid trip he had... Explains why it's so fuckin weird
erik you are 100 percent correct, every theme in this video is full blown satanism.
its very sad how once you start making money they grab ahold of you, sometimes even before you hit the scene like michael jackson, kesha or others we may never know the full truth about..
alot of stars are generational satanists that are bred to be puppets who spread MK ultra symbology to devolve the minds of the young. its been working sadly, look at our younger generations now, IQ going down 3 to 5 points per generation, everyone's addicted and distracted to/by porn and deviant sexuality, the parents these days are almost fully programmed secondary psychopaths..
Erik McLennan if this is what satanism is then count me the fuck in where do I sign up?
And while you guys get this all setup we are gonna drink the beer we spent the music video money on.
They are all very skilled. But the dynamics and control of the drummer are top notch.
here's the thing, for those downplaying their talents, if you can distinguish a band or player from anyone else doing "similar" playing or music genre, then there's individual style & talent. I've been hearing rock/ guitars for close to 50 years. since the 80s, some just started to have the same style & sound, and were indistinguishable & unremarkable. this band can be picked out easily for their style & sound.they are talented and notable in many ways.

Progressive Rock into THE hardest trap beat I have ever heard. Absolutely amazing, all of it.
That awkward moment when you thought they couldn't get any better.
Nani?
My assessment of Polyphia: After being mesmerized by the guitarist and drummer, their absurdly technical skills is like they are spinning 5 dinner plates while playing, then when the dust settles you look in the background and the bass player is spinning 10 plates while doing a handstand!! Moral of the story, don't sleep on the bassist!!
Its like they sped up a jazz song after activating their effects pedals

I'm so happy I get to hear the drummer play like this again, and I'm sure it feels good for him too. Dude is one of the best in the game right now, and I was worried after he stayed relatively in the background of G.O.A.T that he was going to be letting the bass and guitars start driving the songs.
