02 Acura RSX TypeS with Injen cold air and Greddy EVO exhaust reach a top speed of about 145mph on a 3 mile straight road before the turn at the end of the road.
I've own 500hp+ cars but seeing a next to stock NA 4cylinder doing 140+mpg is another amazing cool feeling. Makes me wanna get back into the racing scene. Great vid.
Could have swore this was my car. My buddy filmed my gauges going from a dead stop to about 150 in my old 2004 RSX Type-S with full bolt ons (intake, headers, decat and catback) Car was a blast to own and thanks for this nostalgic video lol
The RSX Type S has been a good car to me I brought it new back in 2002 and still have it right now. No problem and break down so far even. The rsx is a daily driver and a track car for me so I would say it is very reliable
RSX=Rally Sportscar eXperimental for that debate down yonder VVVVV Acura won the Manufacturers' Championship of the SCCA World Challenge Touring Car class in 2006, running both RSXs and TSXs. RSX drivers finished in 5th and 9th in the Drivers' Championship.[17] Kensai Racing is using RSXs and TSXs in the KONI Challenge Series.[18] Badged as a Honda, the DC5 won the British Touring Car Championship with Matt Neal in 2005 and 2006, for Team Dynamics (branded as Team Halfords after the title sponsor).
BTW, the Porsche GT3 RS has partial cage in it. It's a production car. Renault has made a few cars with cages and even lexan rear windows as well. So, they do exist.
I was scrolling looking for EVLGTR's first comment he made on the video; wasted 5 minutes of my life still havent gotten to the first comment. Damn, that dude is mad as hell about the semantics of the words "race car". Nice type-s video, not bad acceleration at all for a mostly OEM production car. Buying one stock myself, need a somewhat cheap quick daily driver, the stang gets about 14 mpg lol
Aside from the safety gear, there are a lot of race cars that don't have a lot of the parts you mention. Like SCCA Showroom Stock classes. Only things added are rollcage, fire suppression, race seat, and that's about it. Normally a speced street tire like the Falken RT-615K for example. Changes from year to year based on sponsorship for the series. Race cars come in all flavors, not just top level pro machines.
No, I am just pointing out that any car, for the most part can be a race car. Depends on the type of racing it's being used in. A bone stock Miata or Neon for example can show up at an SCCA SOLO event and race. No mods of any kind. It's now an autox racer. Depending on the times, speed, and track it's self a bone stock car can come to a time attack and run and be scored. They even have stock classes where they group cars of similar performance. No cages or anything needed.
if you have ever driven any high boost civic. you know that your shift point is right before the motor begins to float. which is @ 9 grand if you shift before that it will bog out and feel sluggish. if you want to get anywhere into 6th gear get 5th to 8700 ;)
I drove one of these then drove a tsx v6 and it was a tad faster but I like revvs allot after owning a camaro v8, 3000gt v6, cobra 300hpdohc, sl55amg, sentra se-r all those. I still have yet to drive a 350z

Idk why but i keep watching this video. Probably because im trying to get one of these and i am excited but.
Not too shabby
It's not about how fast you get to top speed its how fast you get 0-60 and 60-120 and the rsx does the job quite easily stock
Nah man, i managed to squeeze 150mph outta my type s with just a short ram intake and a shitty catback.
@jspringsZ28 Yes there is on an empty back road in middle of no where must test what my car could do in 3 miles
