FMS 6th Scale Willys Jeep. Operation Homing Bird.

This one is for my dad.
My 80 year old father was diagnosed
with pulmonary fibrosis a few years ago.
Since then he has dealt with anxiety
as well. To curb his anxiety and
keep his mind occupied, he has
taken up painting figurens and other
crafts. We recently found these tiny,
inexpensive, decorative, pre-made
bird houses at the local craft stores. They
are not made for actual birds but instead
used for decorative purposes. He painted
and decorated several of these tiny bird
houses and let family and friends have
the opportunity to choose the ones they
wanted. That left us with five unclaimed
bird houses. We decided that a good thing
to do would to be see if anyone in the
local community wanted them. That is what Operation Homing Bird is about.
My friend Chad and I loaded the remaining
5 bird houses into our 1/6th scale RC trailers and took them to Oaks Quarry Park
in Ohio. There, we hung the five bird houses randomly in trees along the main trails. We spread them out along the trails,
from the parking lot all the way back to
the top of the ridge on the East end of the
park. The bird houses are free for the
taking if and when you find them. So if you
see them hanging in the trees, please take it and give it a good home. That would
mean the world to my dad, and truly make
Operation Homing Bird a success.
