- Something different from the usual content, also cause people doubt when I tell you guys the prices of the boards in my budget guide! BUT Tested out 5 different keyboards under $50, was actually really fun, the video is a little long but I hope you guys enjoy this one!

The transparent thing is an ESD film to prevent shorting. It also modifies the sound a bit to be marbly(not as much as ixpe).

Hey Lewis, I have the Ajazz AK620 myself, bought from AliExpress for about $14. It should be a hotswap board, only accepting 3-pin. It's just the switches are pretty tightly fit in there so you might need to put in a little bit of elbow grease. As far as I know, there's no soldered version of this keyboard, but you're free to look underneath.

Love the new camera angle. It's actually the angle I've been considering for my streams. The long-form video format like this is great because you always have plenty of content to fill the time. I feel like a lot of creators can stretch out each board switch or foam piece for 3 minutes sometimes. Wish we could get these things IN the US for these prices. Thanks, as always, for the fun content. Can't wait to hear about your next board....

The clear sheets are PTFE plastic, same stuff plastic soda bottles are made out of. When it's placed under a PE foam sheet, it makes the board sound even more snappy. Rainy75 had the exact same foam config, try it with and without and listen to the difference.
the transparent thing is also called a PET sheet, basically plastic bottle. it ups the trebles.

You can remove the switch on ajazz ak680. but i must say that ak 680 has to be the hardest switch to pull out of the keyboard but, its possible to swap it
I've recently bought Monka Alice67 Pro keyboard. It's a bit more expensive but still great alu kit. I've been enjoying it very much. Never heard of Monka before buying this one.
Recently used an shipping agent, I can now enjoy building amazing budget kits from Taobao despite being outside Asia!
for the chaosera klein switches what are the alternative you recommend that is around same sound profile, i feel like the sound gives somewhere in the middle of clack and thock

Hey lewis the switches you got with the novice 68 are the Kailh (chinese:凯华 kaihua) box summer clicky switches
The ones you initially chose were the Kailh deep sea “whale” tactile silent switches which i hoped that you would have reviewed!

How do we purchase from taobao in the UK? These deals seem insane. Would I be better looking on Ali Express or Temu etc?
I have the NJ63PRO, an earlier version though. Got it for $29 on Amazon with switches and caps (barebones was one dollar more for some reason). Switches were alright, bone dry Akko V1 Pinks. Stabs were preclipped, but the pre-lubing wasn't great (switches were too small for the stabs though). Case foam and plate foam weren't bad. After a bit of modding, some switch replacements, and lubing, it actually is a nice-feeling and sounding board.

What keycaps were on the novice 68?
the plastic sheet on the pcb is PET so its the same thing used in water bottles (it makes the board marbly)

the y65 looks exactly the same as my yunzii al66 but with aluminium plates on the side instead of the rgb ones
Have you seen the Yunzii AL66? Aluminum, wireless/wired, knob, side RGB, rebuild/barebones for under 100USD...

Y65 sounds amazing for its price. Sounds like a $200AUD keyboard. Do you know another place to get it other than Taoboa? Overall very nice and professional video. Hope you like your new camera lens!❣
Hey, IMPORTANTTT; the ajazz ak680 has indeeed hotswap feature. You just have to stick them out a little bit harder, But trust me the swtichers come off.
The switches are Kailh Summers (slightly differnt to jades)
ngl i modded the heck out of the tester 68 and i think it sounds better than the y65, but keebs are all really preference. i do wish i got the novice68 though but they released it after it got shiped out to me
Lewis, the AK680 is definitely hotswappable! It uses the holtite sockets, that's why is so annoying (and painful) to take it out a single switch.

I got the wired one with brown switch I dont think so its only the bluetooth one that has hot swappable. I tried to use my hardest and the key switch wouldnt come off. my other 3 boards are easier to remove the keye switch,.
@@georgepierre3594 mine is wired as well with the red switches, you just need to pull it a little bit harder than usual. Probably gonna break a third (or more) of them in the process, but then it becomes a little bit eaiser.

dude the y65 sound so good, it is shocking that good board are being cheaper and cheaper by time, I remember looking at a keyboard website and everything mostly cost around 200$+
My first custom keyboard was Zoom V1, and it looks exactly like it, even the interior and screw holes. I think the Y65 looks better, and it's good to see more affordable options on the market so people can experience custom keyboards without spending a few hundred dollars at first.

Ah, I have been using the previous JSON file from 05/2023 (which was pinned) and apparently there was a newer version. You should pin that new version instead of the old one. Thanks

Lewis, the Y65 is a blatant copy of the yunzii al66 which I own the only difference is that the al66 has rgb side panels

The clear thing is pet insulation. It usually stops the board from short circuiting. Don't know why they put it in the plate though

ak680 is hot swap bratha but a socket is a outemu socket model(idk the name of a socket sry :3)this socket is very hard to pull a switches up(if my grammar is sh-t sry)
